Ferrari 812 Superfast Review | Where does it belong?

The Ferrari 812 Superfast is billed as a comfortable, usable GT car that’s as much at home in the millionaire districts of the world’s most expensive cities, as it is tearing down the autoroute towards the ultimate gin palace.
Thing is, we’re not convinced that the 812 Superfast is all the excessive GT cruiser it’s cracked up to be. Sure, it’s easy to drive, but what about that 789bhp 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12? What about the Ferrari Power Oversteer function, or Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0? Surely they have more to do with winding country roads than big cities or long, straight motorways. So where exactly, does this Ferrari belong?

if you had moeny to burn.. it not just own the car.. maintanice road tax and it become worthless within few year.... more people get like 488 so they can get pista afterward.. this... what the hell u get..? and why doing superfast that thing is so few year old now.. why not doing like the convertable one?
The 812 has to be considered one of the car worlds best GT cars and may be possibly one of the best cars . Love the noise it develops- so glorious
Are you sure it’s the engine and not the exhaust system?
I hate to tell you, but it is not one of the worlds best GT cars. It's a sports car and a supercar, that's all there is to it. It's still great for roadtrips, but as far as comfort goes, it does not come even remotely close to even an F8 or 488. Truth be told, it's more Pista than F8.
@@alarrisify What you mostly hear is the intake sound. So yes, it's the engine.

The maximum speed of the 812 is not 211mp / h this is the maximum speed limited electronically, without the electronic limiter it goes easy beyond 225mp / h Perfect GT!! I love the 812!! Great content!
how do you know it ? is there a video of it ?
The 812 is not electronically limited to 225 mph, but that's where it hits a wall. If aero permitted, it would run to 247 mph.
If I was to buy a Ferrari this is the car I get no doubt
I do love your reviews. I think the Superfast is easier to drive and won't bite you like the F12 Belinetta. That said, the Superfast is not for me but you made it interesting enough to watch. Kudos.
size of a lamborghini at least f12 and 575 are thinner car alitte easy to drive... it a ferrrai it will bite you like it or not.. sicne it had more power than normal car 6 times over...

The 812 will bite you, and bite you harder than the F12. It is more planted and composed, but in turn that means that once you overdo it, you have your hands full. Think of a racecar where it seems like you have endless grip and just push on - until you run out of talent and it shoots you off the track. The F12 is more nervous, but it all happens at a much slower pace. Once the 812 decides to kill you, you are going at an alarming rate of speed. It is to be respected because it is a car that charms you and then tries to kill you.

The 812 SFis the only modern Ferrari I would want. The engine sound is bliss. Turn of the electric nannies and it's a handful with all the power going to the rear with a FM engine setup. F8 Trib sounds incredibly disappointing along with all its computers making you look like a hero. This is the last Italian car from Ferrari itnappears. The rest of the lineup is German in manners
Unfortunately that's what people want now. I'm italian and I felt very disappointed in the last years hearing (foreign) people complain how Italian cars weren't catching up with the latest tech gimmicks..

I remember when the 599 gtb came out and I thought it was wild... silly me.
The 812 Superfast is one of my favourite Ferraris of all time. There is always something extra special about the front engined V12 GT Ferraris imo and the 812 is undoubtedly another magnificent successor in that front engined V12 super GT lineage.
Today I remember the first video by James, it was about 488 Pista. Since that video I follow this channel. Amazing review mate, the 812 is awesome, great job. Huge from Argentina.

The reviewer brought up a very good point. Something I'm aware of. The reality of owing a uupercar. That more likely they will be driven around London (or any other big city) at near the speed limit. Next to a Toyota Corolla...though almost never parked...unless in front of a LV shop. It's kind of ironic.
As little boys we dream of owning a Ferrari. A lucky hardworking few manage. yet, if we buy one without help from mommy/daddy...we're likely to be in our mid 60's. Retiring if not already. Unless we're a pro fototballer in our 20's. The typical owner is more likely to be 65+. Out of shape. Reflexes not what they once were. Driving their $200 GBP supercar like a Prius. Once a week on a Sunday morning. Just to show people "I made it!!".
Few owners actually have the driving skill to push these cars anywhere near 1/4 of the way to their limits...and live.
having said that...if I could afford one I'd get one. :)
Something else...even if we were on the twisty mountain roads of Modena or on the Nurbergring...most of us wouldn't have the guts to push these cars...nor want to pay for an expensive tune-up afterwards. As these cars were designed for the street. Do car companies cram all the tech and engineering know h ow into these cars...just to sell the cars to wealthy owners? Knowing full well their cars will never be pushed anywhere near their potential?
Practical side me says these cars are a waste of $. :) Just some where to spend our money. Better to buy the most expensive home we can afford. In the best neighbourhood.

Good review. But, getting a little tired of the cliche sayings about the usability of a modern car? This is 2020. Ferrari better be building reliable, usable products. Lambo, Ferrari they seem to be doing it right. McLaren needs to take note. Quality, reliability and use are of utmost importance right now. I applaud Ferrari for building a product that looks and performs well, but also can be trusted to work. In the bad storms, of any life.
This and the 458 has the best fronts on any Ferrari

There's a funny thing to think about. The 812SF does not actually sit in the GT line of Ferrari cars, but rather in their line of sports cars. Yes press wise, they said GT, but internally it never was anything but a sports car.
Our megane trophy r, grand turismo stradale and 991 gt3 rs are out in the countryside. Never in town 😬

It's kinda ugly though. Those headlights especially.
I dont think it wants to have a murderous death machine look, remember it's being marketed like a practical supercar kinda somewhat similar to the audi r8 but just better. I dont think it's ugly, it's just not some exotic beauty.
