Beautiful art! Wood spirits are my favorite as well. I’ve tried other things but always end up going back to them. Just now trying with cedar and really like it, even more so than cottonwood bark. I need to try the flea markets and craft shows as I’m now retired and need to stay busy. Appreciate you taking the time to help us wannabes out!

Thanks for the video 😊! Yes, the chainsaw is ideal for defining the first cuts! I absolutely have to try wood carve a wizard, soon, finally I hope 🙄, spring will be here!

Kevin I Love the wizard wall hanger. The flea market is something I'm considering as a place to get my stuff out there and to see what sells. Thanks for all you do for us newbies. Be well.

Thanks Linda , yeah you should try it, you'd be surprised how many people would want what you make.

Hey Kevin. I see the chip out... My current project is doing the same thing. But it's bass. It's probably my inexperience and dull knives but in some spots the wood was doing exactly what you showed with the eyes. thanks.

Yes, sometimes you can get a bad piece and dark spots and best wood that will chip, but always strop your knives and check the sharpness It’s not always the wood, most of the time it’s your tools. Keep Carving, Mike.

I love working with my chisels and my knives, but I don't yet have enough experience to do it in one shot and I waste so much time fiddling! 😭
