K.D. Lang has one of the best voices in the business. She's been around a long time, and her voice is just gorgeous, so good it makes the hairs stand up on your arms. She's one of my all time favorite singers. Anything she's done is worth a listen.
I agree a 1000 percent, I've watched her from the beginning of her career. She just became more sexy her voice grew amazingly. She's one of the best singers ever.

That's the thing about using an idioms, you never know when you will run in to an idiot who doesn't speak English as "home-runny" as you. Or maybe an idiom can sound jarring if used in a context where the the context of the idiom is reminded to you but doesn't match.
'Hit it out of the park" is very much a baseball metaphor. Now it is used daily to describe some one excelling at a task, but if it is used to describe someone excelling at a task and they happen to be in a sports venue other than a "ball park" it sounds jarring. For example lets say Serrena Williams just "aced" a serve and the commentator describes it as a "hole in one" of a serve. "Hole in one" is also a great idiom that describes excelling at something. But as it is being used in a crossed-textual way, the other commentator will probably say "you do know this is tennis, right?"

Willie Nelson calls her “PIPES” because “she has the best Pipes in the business” ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦 When Leonard Cohen was asked to perform his song “Hallelujah” at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, he told the organizing committee to call up K.D. Lang because ’she does the song more credit than I do these days’-a HUGE compliment. And perform it, she did!! What a treat to see this performance for Roy. I hadn’t watched it in a long while. No synithizer, no dubbing, no studio magic. There aren't two other female singers that can even hold her water while she's killing it. This is a gift from God not a 'deal' worked out by some record exec. If she has the admiration of Tony Bennett and Roy Orbison, she has nobody close to her
K.D.Lang puts the current so call female singers to shame. This is a true female artist with epic vocal and emotion. She annunciates all the words with clarity and purity! No comparison.
KD, was one of the best. She was controversial because she was gay, in the country music scene. I always felt she never got the coverage she deserved due to the prejudice of the time. I look for anything she is singing. Love it!
Another controversy here at home was that, as an Alberta girl, she was vegan. Let's just say, the beef farmers of Alberta weren't happy.
I've seen her in concert so many times and the sheer beauty and strength of her voice brings me to rears every time. She is also a very sensuous performer with a great sense of humour...couldn't love her more...

I don't think I've heard a voice as clear and powerful, yet so seemingly effortless, since Karen Carpenter. (EDIT: Ha, I just now see that you also reacted to Karen. Off to watch that one!)

K. D. Lang did this as a duet with Roy Orbison, which is probably why she was tapped to do the tribute. Their duet version is spectacular, as is this version. Two of the greatest voices in popular music, together doing one of the greatest songs. I don't need heaven, I've already been.
She is AMAZING! Grew up listening to her and honestly sad she disappeared. She is a beautiful talent and human. I had her albums that my favorite song is Miss Chatelaine. If you haven’t heard it you should listen to it!
