Getting the ACT clutch this summer.. can't wait to start ripping gears
Just K-Tuned my Si and was looking into Clutches. Perfect timing on this vid 👌🏼
Thanks for watching!
Thanks! This is like the only detailed review for this clutch on this car.
Thanks for watching!!
Just bought this clutch kit for my 2020 Si cant wait to have it installed! Also upgraded the slave and master cylinder so cant wait to see how it is after these get added on. Thanks for the video definitely made me not regret my purchase!
That’s exactly why I love your content your not about spending as much money as possible your real and realistic and like most of us and I appreciate the honest and thorough reviews
I really appreciate the comment, thank you!!
315whp / 335tq is what I think you might hit! keep it up homie shes 🔥🔥 I’ve had two 8th gens a 9th Gen and I just scooped up a 10th Gen and have extremely up in the air about clutches. Low key been waiting for a good review with the ACT so good looks!!
You’ve experienced all the newer generations that’s awesome!! Thanks for watching dude!!
I have the extreme version of that clutch and from what they told me it’ll hold 532 foot pounds but that’s to the crank so I’m gonna say around 440 to 460 for mine and probably around 380 to 400 for yours now that’s straight from ACT that’s not my words I’m a Subie guy but I gotta say I do dig your car it’s really nice man
🔥🔥🔥 keep up with the great hondas bro. Even with the ep3 type r you had!!
Thank you!!
This is why I’m getting a aftermarket clutch before ktunner or bigger turbo
Nice I order mines got to wait about 1 month to get it
I was wondering if you had any video clips of the invidia r400 with the catless dp/fp combo from the outside. I’m looking into getting this setup as it sounds really nice from your videos and other videos. Love the build on all your cars!
I’m planning on getting a some quality clips of the cars audio this spring!! Thanks for watching
Been waiting since December for my clutch... hopefully I get an update soon.
Good assurance to feel better for the wait
Your going to love it, well worth the wait!
I've been waiting since December too, it's getting out of hand
Did you get your clutch yet? I ordered this April and still waiting.
Get the phearable its amazing your going to love it. And they just released a new tune for 93 octane
I have the W1 turbo so I’ll have to use the base map for that
that pop 3:26 made a smile on my face :)
Me too!
Been waiting for this video thank you bro! I considered the retro fit but its not in the price range id like to spend considering its recommended to also upgrade the CMC which is an additional 250 dollars
I’ve honestly had no issues with lockouts and I’ve driven pretty aggressive. Not sure if it’s luck or maybe I haven’t driven the car hard enough to experience it
@@ChrisLowpes did you go with stage 2 or stage 2+ ?
I had the fx350 then switched to act HD street with the eman cmc which was Perfect. I put 30k on my act before my car was totaled last summer. Best option out there beside the retrofit and the competition clutch kit
im having fun in my stock si. i cant imagine when i at least upgrade the intercooler and clutch
You might have to earlier than intended. I can relate.
I got a clutch masters one, still trying to get it on after it sitting on my shelf for 5 months, only cause I'm pushing over 300 torque on my tunes and the oem clutch is not happy with it
Hey Chris i just got this installed on my 2019 si and just had a question at what rpm do you get off the line at normal driving? Mine feels a bit rough. Is that because its still new only like 40 miles on it lol
Just a question just bought a 2018 Honda Civic si coupe and I heard a lot of people having issues with a noise when you turn your steering wheel at low speed , noise comes from the tire boot or whatever is called mine is doing it just a bit not that loud did you had that problem I’m yours ??
Hi Chris, would you happen to have a link for your clutch? I saw ACT but it had some different options and wasn’t sure which exact one you bought
Now that you are built. Can you list the order that you would do it if you started over? I'm looking to follow the same path and want to know where to start.
How much torq do you have? I am on td03 + intercooler, Downpipe and the tune. I am on 250hp with 350nm. Still running on OM clutch. Planning to get an HC9-HDSS - HD/Perf Street Sprung as well. Mine is a daily driver as well.
I have 105k on my oem clutch straight beating on it no slippage here and I have been fbo e30 for a while now
You have a unicorn of a clutch 😂
Dude can't wait till mines arrives 😩
Your gonna love it!
I just got mine installed this week! I agree the car feels so much better with that dual mass flywheel out of there. Did you upgrade the CMC too?
I don't believe he has. I spoke to him a few weeks back and he mentioned no lockout issues. I would wait for him to comment himself though to be 100%
It’s oem cmc and so far I haven’t had any lockout issues.
How much they charge to get installed
Nice vidéo !! Your Si are perfect ! It's seem to pull pretty hard !! I'll say for your dyno number : 277whp and 304 wtq . Also here in quebec at rivière du loup we got Precision Auto Canada ! He work on all honda product and many 10th if you want a road trip or maybe he can do an e-tune but i'm not sure !!
Awesome thanks for the info I’ll check it out!
@@ChrisLowpes you can check on CZcams also few dyno tune on 10th. The number seem more low than US compagnie but those seem To me more realistic
@@raphtstt is definitely rather reliable over unreliable power so I don’t mind
will it fit in my K20C2 (2.0na) 2017 6MT Civic sedan?
What flywheel did you go with? I've been looking at the RV6 type r retro flywheel but I'm not sure of the other options available
How is the clutch now 11/22 and what’s your psi
I was in the same boat as you. Have been saving up for the type r retro from Eman for a bit now but goddamn, 1600.. Might just pull the trigger on the act clutch as well.
Honestly I’ve been enjoying mine with 0 complaints as of now
@@ChrisLowpes I pulled the trigger 5 minutes after commenting last night. Lol
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
Any gear lockout when high rpm shifting? A lot of people have complained about this clutch doing that. Usually swapping the cmc fixes that tho. KzCMC is the best option.
I’ve personally haven’t had any lockout issues with it yet
anyone here know where i can get or buy the cover of bracket on the spoiler of 10th gen civic coupe?
I just got this same clutch. how many miles should I drive it until I beat on it ;)
Hey Chris. I live in the GTA what shop are you using for your upgrades. Or which one would you recommend. I do most of my own work but a clutch is a little out of my comfort zone.
I use NAS autowerks for anything out of my hands
This is a good clutch trust me
Just had this clutch kit installed today. Love how it feels. Is anyone else experiencing a consistent clicking noise while accelerating? It’s pretty much while car is in gear and in motion. I put it in neutral and the sound stops. This is my first aftermarket clutch and I’ve heard aftermarket can be noisy and it’s a trade off for performance lol
My Si clicked while driving in 2nd through 6th gear, ill be replacing the bearing so we'll see with that
@@prevalentbordom6037 stills with that sound ?
Any chance if you found out that was the problem
Does this give it more feel than stock? I can't get a feel on the factory clutch it's so light. Makes smooth driving hard when I first get in the car
It’s definitely heavier than stock but very doable as a daily driver
0:08 - Did you use the aftermarket throw out bearing that came with the clutch?
No I purchased a oem one instead
@@ChrisLowpes The Nachi? Good boy!!! Hope you bought an OEM flywheel bearing as well ;) I was gonna say, those aftermarket bearings are usually problems.
For the rev hang did you also do a clutch delay valve delete? I've heard about that helping until I get a clutch but I'm not ready to pull the trigger.
I didn’t do the clutch delay valve and I’m pretty satisfied with how it feels now
@@ChrisLowpes Awesome, thanks for the reply. Might have to wait a while until my stock clutch gets more worn but I can't wait
@@Terr98 Eman is the creator of the retro fit type r clutch and i spoke to him and he said that CDV delete is unnecessary, clutch/ flywheel and a CMC upgrade from sirimoto and or Eman himself
@@allenmoore7553 sorry I didn't get a notification but thank you for the advice! Now I won't do anything uneccessary
How many kilometres did you have on your stock clutch Chris?
I had roughly 37,000kms
Great vid. Did you install yourself?
I got a buddy to install it, check the channel out I have the install video!
Thanks, great install
@@lawrencelucero8487 thanks!
$1400 shipped to Canada and $1000 labour Honda said
So worth it ?
Just ordered the Clutch Masters FX-400 6-puck unsprung for my si. Wish me luck it’s my daily 😅
Good luck!!
I wanna know how it’s been for ya these last 3 months?
@@stacks_life3472 I also upgraded my cmc with the sirimoto kit and honestly bro it’s fuckin gnarly. Grabs real hard, takes a lot of force to engage and takes a lot of getting used to but holds a lot of power and feels super solid
@@KyleDiF very nice bro. What reason did you upgrade the cmc?
The oem cmc has been around for a long time and it honestly kinda sucks. People always recommend upgraded them when you do a new clutch because they tend to fail relatively early on (every car is different) so I figured let me just upgrade it so I don’t have to rip half the car apart again since it’s such a bitch 🤣 but that’s totally your call bro
Do you replace also the cmc? Do you replace also the trans oil seal?
Both are oem
do u adjust the clutch pedal?
Honda civic 2019 1.5l cvt transmission witch clutch gonna fit anyone know about it ??? 315whp/335tq
Let me know when you find out. Also interested.
Would it be ok to install this with stock turbo?
Of course! I’d only recommend it if your clutch is starting to slip
Idk if you did or not but make sure you delete your clutch delay valve
I’m new to modding cars, and I’m still learning and researching stuff,
Why would that be necessary? Thx!
Do you think arp head-studs necessary once fbo ? Stock turbo
I personally don’t think so!
@@ChrisLowpes
Thanks Chris
I’m from Nova Scotia got the same car as you used too currently have
Prl intake
27won intercooler
27won catted downpipe
Invidia r400
Act street clutch and fly wheel kit
I like the turbo you went with cause of the quick base map until you can get the time for a custom tune !
Thanks again
Drob all great things going to him as soon as i big t my jawn
How long it takes to ship the clutch?
You’d have to email them and see, I picked mine up locally
What flywheel are you using?
The 17lb flywheel that comes with the clutch kit
Is it lowered? What springs or coil overs? How much lowered?
It’s lowered on D2 springs
@@ChrisLowpes so it’s 2” lower?
Huge question before I purchase my kit tomorrow! Do you have any issues with lockout? Im looking for the kzCMC but seems to be completely sold out right now. Curious if you had to do so or if all is good with oem. If not, did the kzCMC fix the issue?
I personally have not had lockout issues once, I also have not beaten on the car heavily at a track which could be why. I just do some spirited driving
@@ChrisLowpes okay! And one more question, do you prefer the oem throw out bearing over the ACT throw out bearing and why? Sorry for all of the questions, just want to do this one and do it right the first time!
@@londonbehrens8368 many people including myself prefer the oem as they tend to be more reliable and fail less
Yo I’m first wussup!!
And I made well into the 300ft lbs of torque
Built motor and trans?
Both stock as of now
283whp and 306ft/lbs
So how much faster do the revs drop?
Crispy shifting
Thanks!
Gotta check drobs page and compare your parts to what hes tuning im pretty sure you’re way over 3
Will do thanks!
Good 👍 ASS job Brudda ✌.
Thank you!
Yea I'm not giving up 2k for a fucking clutch
Lmao same here
There is no way to get out of this 😕 situation..........for street Rac2ing😉
You're not my boy, never were.
How will I ever go on?
I installed the same clutch and made sure I broke it in as instructed( 500 city miles and 1000 clutch pushes) it seems like the third gear doesn’t want to engage .. do you have the same issue? I will say it’s pulling much better than before…
You're tuner didn't eliminate the rev. hang?
Nope, the car has a dual mass flywheel and once you upgraded it to something lighter you can completely eliminate the rev hang
@@ChrisLowpes my k-tuner did help, but I have noticed it's still there a little. I'm going to have to investigate this clutch and flywheel.
