I think they would be more popular if they made the wheel look more “realistic” rather than “futuristic”. When talking about sim racing, I want gear that looks authentic, not necessarily “cool”.
For me as long as it looks good, feels good, and the buttons are in a decent spot im fine with it. I think I like the look of some of the other F1 type wheels better, but most of those with as many button capability's are higher priced.

@@TheSuperNerf1Nah, I think stuff like more buttons and more LEDs are a good thing, simply because the SIM hardware doesn't have as much feedback than a real car. But with this many inputs it's nearly impossible to achieve a realistic optic, so I go with what looks good enough, feel great and have a lot of features. I really like the sweet spot Asetek hits.

Yes! I have always thought their gear looked like something out of a sci-fi movie and not a race track I’m glad I’m not the only one
Worth to mention is that you can uprade later the La Prima wheel to the Forte wheel by yourself. So you dont have to buy a new Wheel to get an Upgrade. Also in January there wheel be a new handle availiable for 100€ wich u can switch by yourself also :)

This is unfortunately categorically incorrect. Although it had been previously mentioned that would be an upgrade path (to replace the mainboard/facia to upgrade to a Forte wheel), I was told personally (by Asetek, and within the last 2 weeks) that: opening the wheel to even change the encoder knobs (which they flat out refused to sell me--I got stuck with the ugly green TK version) would 100% void the warranty and that they did not support end users opening the wheel. Rather infuriating, and quite a far cry from the implications they previously made.
I recently bought the wheel & base bundle. But with Fanatec V2 pedals. I'm looking forward to the world of DD

Moza GS V2P is better in my opinion, it looks better, has more rotary encoders, has clutch paddles, and most importantly doesn't have blank buttons
but has alot less detail in ffb
Moza is cheap shite similar to Fanatec
I thought the blanks could be fitted with extra encoders once Asetek makes a kit.

@@wwjnz9263I don't think this will ever come. I think they use the same PCB underneath, but if you don't want to solder new buttons to it you stay with what you got in the first place.

Aa long as fanatec keeps appealing to the budget crowds like me, a 5nm dd is $350, plus their F1 style wheel for $350.
Thats a deal nobody can pass on, Asetek and Hueskinveld (wromg spelling im sure) will always appeal more to a...expensive crowd, unless I can get a wheel base and wheel for less than $700 than its a no go for me.
Fanatec even offers, a dd wheel base, any of their wheels and pedals for $199.
Fanatec, Logitech and Thrustmaster will always reign supreme because of the budget crowds that they attract.
The lowest wheelbase is 12nm, so will always be higher than Fanatec 5nm.
You know the 199 in the deal are only for the wheelbase, wheel and pedals cost extra?

Can I Use this wheel on a VRS Wheelbase?
Well, I just had a problem with the pins on the wheelbase and they told me I should not hang the laundry there, lol. All I did was removing the La Prima button box and installing the Forte wheel again. Seems I'm just dumb and it was my problem. Support was inexistent so if you are hesitant, just go with simucube.
Have you seen Asetek's LMP hand grip prototype? I never thought something as simple as hand grips would completely change how the wheel looks but, with the LMP grips Asetek's formula wheels are amonst the best looking wheels on the market. That's bananas!
Kinky switches? Ummm, is that a US thing? We call them funky switches here in the UK.
Ehm, you don't, because funky switch is saved especially by fanatec. As long you don't pay a license fee you cannot use this in a business context.
As long as fanatec is the best option for console gamers then they don't need to worry about it. So much hate for fanatec but they aren't as bad as the elitists say

Fanatec customer experience is abysmal. There's a reason they have lost 50% of their share price in the last 12 months.
I think you should review de KS Steering Wheel From Moza Racing… at least for me is the better bang for the buck right now and doesn’t feel cheap or like this wheel reminds that you couldn’t afford the other options 🤙🏼

Asetek has issues with their usb ... and honestly fanatec still sells more then asetek.
About the looks, first time i saw it, tought it was super ugly. But it growe on me, so much that now i love the way it looks. Especially the forte version.

The wheels (looks and lack of option) is what removed this bundle from my consideration set. Ugly and not that premium for the price point.

400€ for a plastic wheel with cheap electronics it's only for fools and fanboys, they would need to lower to 300 or 350€ max to fight against Fanatec and Moza.
Besides of ecosystem wheels there is a lack of offer for Formula/GT wheels under the 400€ range, even under the 600€ you only have a few entry wheels from brands like Cube Controls, RCW, 3drap and Balkn (this last one would be hard for European buyers), but even if this wheel would work with other bases i wouldn't recommend it.
That's funny considering you can use almost every wheel ever made on an asetek platform with a simple quick release adapter, asetek is gonna take over a huge part of the market strictly on their customer service alone. Let alone every advancement they are working on is making it easier for consumers to do as they please.

Yea, because they ARE toys, even the top end wheels of other brands. But Asetek has way more inputs, and for this amount of inputs it looks quite decent.
@@alphastratus6623 no they’re sim gear. Saying higher end gear are toys is like saying tools are toys to DIY mechanics and home renovators.
What we played on years ago or some people do now because they’re young or have a tight budget like a 200-300 Logitech or Thrustmaster (which are made out of plastic) are toys.
When you start getting above 1000 dollars for just a wheel base, some pedals or a steering wheel? They are reaching the hard core enthusiasts / hobby level.
@@boodybandit Even Ferrari and Lamborghini are Toys, but for adults and they cost even more. You don't have to justify your hobby, but at least don't take it more serious than it is.

Most of my neighbors have exoctic cars. My wife digs Mercedes. I rock a Dodge (HellCat) and Jeeps. So I would guess my Jeeps and powerful cars would be my "hobby" but I dont consider them toys
I hated Fanatec for their quick releases. Now fixed. I think they are on to something with the 'software'. Everyone can make good hardware now. I thought truforce was a gimmick, but I was always missing something with dd's. That feel of the engine in the wheel. Good software will fill those gaps. The manufactorer with the best software, that can get implemented into sims. They will be king. Fanatec seems to be aware of this. But thank god for all the competition finally pushing them.
