It's not really an Arcane reference. One of Caitlyn's abilities in the game is a bear trap with a cupcake on it. For reasons. And that is (allegedly) the reason why in-game Vi calls her cupcake.

the fact that they managed to give both jayce and caitlyn so much personality in such short time is amazing considering how they were two of the most bland and generic champions ever. Makes you think how much wasted potential they have had (and still have) in their roster for so many years.

They are bland and generic? How? If Caitlyn is a bland champ, that would make almost the entire roster of ADCs bland, if not all. Jayce maybe in a weird position, esp. meta-wise, but he has multiple ways of engaging in a fight, unlike Yi or Yasuo.

In game,.maybe, the 80% in game thing that aren't new are void and souless, in lore absolutely not. Jayce and Cait, had a good lore, isn't something new

Nowhere in the lore it was ever mentioned their sexuality, but for a good while RIOT always seemed to imply a close relationship between the two(even if that was open to either friendship or romance...or both).
The fact that Arcane now seems to imply more of a possible romance is just making the dreams of many fans that always shipped them come true, and again as the lore of both NEVER mentioned sexuality...yeah, either of them can be in love with each other.
Be in LoL or in Arcane.

@@alittledeath2817 he didn't just swung, he shoot as well, and hammer doesn't have scope and stock, also you need to shoot it from torso's level, so generally it would be very uncomfortable to shoot with. I mean, Jayce could try to take Cait rifle and would probably hit some targets. But i doubt Cait can do the same with the hammer

Aaaah, I remember when I first really started getting into League and just liked doing dumb bot lanes. My boyfriend and I did Jayce/Caitlyn and this brings back all those memories.

My first exposure to Jayce and Caitlyn was from Arcane. My brothers played/used to play League. And Jayce looks so much buff-er than the Jayce I knew. Like wowzers.

Cupcakes have actually always been Caitlyn’s thing. They’re the bait she uses in her traps in-game, and Vi likely started calling her that because of it. Still adorable though.

This is definitely inspired by how their relationship is in the show
this and arcane made me realize all ADCs are probs super sharp shooters in lore. I honestly thought jinx was just a rattatatatat fire everywhere type of person but nope she actually had awesome aim from a young age. Reminds me of how the Archer class in Fate are just granted this sharp shooting and long range vision buff.
It's nice and simple cinematic would like to have something like it each week.

I enjoy the jayce lore updates, His being a unwanted vigilantly in the past always kinda struck me the wrong way. He always seemed like he's the type of character Arcane is making him out to be, COUNTING DOWN TILL CHAPTER 2!.
