Never move once. That is the challenge. I attempted it before, but after hours of trying and dying to the boss at 25 minutes I gave up. This time, however, I have a new plan. The plan is called Mortaccio and the rest of the story is luck and in-the-moment decisions that paid off very well. For the first time I can say: I beat the challenge!!! Was it a hard-core challenge? I'd say it's tough, but the harder part was not falling asleep while not moving. But Mortaccio didn't move and the challenge is beat and it felt really satisfying.

I also like how u didn’t move for the green gem, so many videos have people use the green gem up top. But your run is valid because you actually didn’t move
I saw that a couple of times and never understood why thats a thing. Not to throw shade, but if I call something "no movement" and then literally move and some even walk to the very bottom so the whip hits nearly all enemies, then that's no movement. That's little movement or whatever

If you do this again, one thing I learned: Candelabrador affects attractorb's magnetism bonus, so taking that would even further increase your EXP pull range.

Bone actually does more damage when more closely surrounded by enemies, since the projectiles bounce sooner and more frequently.
The whole problem with all the exp on the ground blocking you from getting more would have been easily solved by getting the Pentagram. It destroys ground objects. Ahh, I see you got it. Good to see!
This, right here! I was in the middle of thinking this was a stupidly impossible challenge and how the orb wasn't going to solve the red gem problem when the pentagram popped up for the first and it came to me how he was planning to do it.
Then... He didn't pick it!!! 😂
The moment you mentioned Pentagram, I was like "Might be a stupid idea? I'm fairly certain that's going to be /mandatory/". Amazing that you got good 1st exploding ghost RNG on the same run :3
Max out Pentagram and evolve to grab all gems it kills. This is an auto include for the now move runs I’d think. It grabs everything in the screen!

Sure you can. Some elites aren't affected by knockback, plus in later stages they'll get pushed in.
I think the pentagram is a baller move. Lower levels it clears the useless xp, evolved, it hoovers.

Porta (his increased attack speed makes his lightning kill too much away from exp range)
Exdash (ebony wings doesn't hit within exp range)
General tactic
1. Get garlic lvl 1-2 if not restart run.
2. Get attractor orb before too much exp are beyond your range. (typically between lvl 8-12)
3. Get weapon which can kill the first boss without him killing you (magic wand or whip) (book is usually too unreliable in the start but can work)
4. Get Pentagram to erase exp before too much exp is dropped beyond your range (typically between lvl 18-24) (but can also help to keep the run alive in the early stages with missing extractor orb upgrades)
5. Hope you can kill the witch at 25min have only succeeded on mortaccio too so far.
Just had a successful no movement run that I started while watching your video!
Same build except I swapped out the whip for the cross. I ended up with less xp because of the boomerang effect on it, but the close enemy targeting and damage made up for it

The Bone is so bad in the early game but later with these big waves coming close its does so much damage, its incredible

I have tried this challange so many times and I still have no idea how to deal with the 25 min boss. Never tried Mortaccio though.
You've done it right, Mortaccio is better than Poe for this. Now try mad forest, its way more harder than library, especially in the 5-15min range.

The mechanics of the game are really well thought out
This was quite close. If you would have decided to try and go for pentagram upgrades earlier, the lvl 25 boss chest would have evolved it, letting you get over lvl 100 without you really being able to get any other upgrades which would have probably made the last wave too tanky

pentagram would be so OP if you could manage to get the evolved version of it now, you'll get all the exp instead of having the exp just disappear
i like how no move challenges hardest part is the first 3min boss :) atleast thats where most of my runs end
with the pentagrams new upgrade its amazing for this kind of run. if you get a lucky chest drop and get its upgrade youre golden.
To be fair, if a chest post 10 minutes (which is the hardest part) drops on you and upgrades any weapon its multiples better than any other weapon would be. I agree on the pentagram part, but I don't think its exclusive to it :D

The knockback was all in the wand but it just kept not targeting the boss
that boss/elite at the 8min mark dropped a red gem when he died instead of a chest

Pentagram is also a dual edge sword: ''You might get it at semi start of the game (but you gonna level it for 4/5 lvl that it doesn't erase all exp''
Or the end game, with a crown you will leave this skill at last. This is my experience for so far, since I haven't even killed the Reaper
Pentagram only deletes XP you won't get anyway. It's a much more important pick than Attractorb because it will keep the run going even if you get a red gem. You are highly unlikely to ever pick up a chest, so evolutions don't matter (you shouldn't expect to get any, at least).
Also, you don't want many levels, because that makes killing the 25 minute boss that much harder, which is the actual goal in no moving challenges. You only need level 65 or so to upgrade everything, and every level after that is detrimental. So crown is a really bad pick, if you ask me.
This is obviously a pretty old video without rerolls and whatnot, but nowadays I just banish Pentagram right before the first chance increase, and I make sure to not take any luck power ups.
I feel like you undervalued the bracers. also as a general video making tip, challenge yourself to one run a day and record all runs over a week and compile them into one video like this, instead of spending all day on trying to get it done as soon as possible, that way it doesn't wear you out as fast and it gives your brain time to work on the problems overnight, such as figuring out pentagram trick before attempting too many runs.
of course this is just an example, you may want to do more than 1 a day, but less than say 5.
The old man may be frail but he helps out with this challenge so much, not because he starts with garlic but because he has a naturally increased pick up radius.
only problem with old guy is that he misses the extra projectiles at the end to push away the enemys. i think with a few less books/bones this run was going to fail. also not sure about 25min boss, that thing is crazy hard and takes no knockback, every little ounce of dmg helps

Dex babe, I don’t think you understand the knock back effect (in this particular video in this particular situation - the rest of the time you seem to talk about it accurately).
Early on, the first boss when you were confused why he was sometimes not getting knocked back and sometimes he got knocked back over and over, and then again later talking about the whip having good knock back.
Read the description of the first level of garlic “reduces resistance to freeze and knock back effects”. I think your confusion is due to not understanding that garlic is the reason for the variable knockbacking.
Either way, still enjoying your content and randomness.
I understand the knockback, but when he was standing close to me he didn't get knocked back as far as further out (but while also being on Garlic), that's what surprised me.
The fight at 6:15 shows it well I think, after my revive he got knocked back upwards a lot, while when he was nearly on top of me he got barely knocked back. Now one is a given: When he got knocked back so far, it was a multi-hit that caused it.
But I think the Garlic circle might end where it shows the last circle around you, so anyone inside that circle, like right on top of you, might not be affected by Garlics boost. That might be straight up wrong, but sometimes it feels like when they are really close they barely get knocked back :)
@@DexTag yes, i think it has to do with the frequency of the garlic doing damage and applying the reduction to knockback on hit. I could be wrong about that though.
Why did the pentagram not erase everything when erased some? Is it an old version from before it was fixed?

It doesn't provide you with a benefit that Garlic doesn't fulfill already but permanent, and it's damage is horrible to be considered as an additional weapon. I could see it work, but I don't see a difference for the challenge
Does the luck stat affect the chance to spare exp gems? If so you should've removed that power up.
If it affected it, it would affect the drop of xp (since sometimes they don't drop it), so I wouldn't want the luck gone, or am I misunderstanding you? But I don't know the answer to that, if I don't forget it I'll check out the code and see if I see a reference to luck :)
I meant the chance for pentagram to spare exp gems. If that is affected by luck it might be worth removing the luck power up so more trash gems out of range get cleared.

isn't pentagram actually good? it will kill all the xp stones meaning the red gem wont spawn and you can always be getting xp?

Anyone else attract orb just not pick up orbs on the ground prior to getting the attract orb? Mine is max level, and its not picking up orbs right next to me lol

chandelabrador affects attract orb. With this combination all maxed out, you pretty much suck in the whole screen. I always go for this in no move challenges. works fine.
Critical mistake by ditching spellbinder, as it is instrumental in making yourself untouchable against bosses. It erases the small downtime you get from bible when full upgraded + CDR. You stack runetracer, santa water, and frost wand. A bracer for good measure. Combined with the duplicator it enforces the safe zone against bosses by pushing them back. Especially santa water which also synergizes well with spellbinder and creates a wall which kills almost everything, even the giant golem waves from map 3. The idea is to wall yourself in, with both close range & long range covered. Good run though. GGs.
Coming back to this now that Pentagram/Crown literally not only sucks up gems, but GIVES YOU EVEN MORE is a 10 in my book.
The issue will be to get an upgrade. I did do a no movement with Dommario and Christine though :)

dude i always was triggered when you didn't pick up pummorola to level garlic for regen xD
The issue is I can't force a chest on me :D It would just stay unevolved as normal Garlic and take up a passive slot that could have something with a lot of damage to protect me :) I thought about defensive passives and also tried them - not sure if they are in the video though - but the main issue was that when the enemies had a power spike (new, way stronger wave) I'd get overrun

Just wanna say, this was very early on when I didn't know a lot about the game and the second no movement challenge I knew of - and the first not using Poe, so it was a lot of figuring out and thinking. Pentagram was not on my thoughts of what should be picked due to the fear of the minute 25 boss :)

Why no poe? Why does mortaccio work better than poetry? Ue has a 25% pick up bonus and starts with garlic. That with candelabrador should pick the whole screen practically
Every one of my runs , about 5-8 minutes in, the bad guys just completely stop giving gems, and never start again.
That means there's a red gem somewhere sucking all the exp
Duplication ring was early-game throw, but late-game salvation, if you didn't have those 2 extra bones in play, you'd have been overrun at the end there.

Evolved Pentagram can make this challenge a lot easier, you won't have to care about magnet range.
If there would just be a character that starts with evolved pentagram that would be great :D
