Antique Show & Appraisal Fair in Legendary American Town!

- Add antiques to an important early American frontier town, and you have the ingredients for a really fun vintage destination! We're in New Harmony, Indiana this weekend to see the antique show and see what heirlooms people bring for me to evaluate, and you're invited!
I'll be shopping the show outside, then looking at people's wonderful treasures in Ribeyre Auditorium, where the air conditioned inside antique show is. Our position on the platform stage has plenty of room for people to hang out with me and see what all comes with the folks who crave more information about the things passed to them in family or treasures found in thrift stores, antique malls and flea markets.
But the real show is the town itself! This video shows some of this beautiful, richly decorated old town, where Harmonists and intellectuals promoted progressive ways of thinking about education and worker participation in industry on this now quiet and tranquil town on the Wabash River. We take a quick tour, say hi to a few illustrious CZcams friends who visited and reveal why I so enjoy coming to do this appraisal event every year!

First time I ever been to new Harmony is absolutely beautiful. Got to meet George made my day. Can’t wait till he comes to Petersburg, Indiana and it was a great show. I wish I’d looked a little deeper things around me, though that I regret next time I will take the time to look really good. I don’t know why I didn’t. I had all the time.😂

Hi George! New Harmony seems lovely, and I love the architecture and colors of the buildings. Victorians used these muted but rich colors on the exteriors of their houses. Very quaint!

I miss the architecture of the Midwest. Those buildings are very like the ones in my hometown in Northern Indiana. Nothing like that here in Alaska.

Lovely old buildings...Iowa has a lot of small towns that look similar , though a lot has fallen into disrepair or taken down for development.

Thank you, George, we learn so much from you. It is very generous of you to share your knowledge. Question, We travel from WI to Western Tennessee a couple times a year. Do you have a recommendation for stops in Illinois, central or Southern Illinois?
I like the Broadway Antique Market in Chicago (if you go that way), or the antique malls and flea market near the freeway in Springfield, Illinois...not sure what part of the state you're from in Wisconsin. New Harmony has a mall and shops all year round, and Evansville has Riverside Antique Mall. If you take Hwy. 641 south past Land Between the Lakes, Sturgis, Kentucky has a good antique mall; Twin Lakes Antique Mall in Gilbertsville (near the lakes) is where I sell and is very nice; Cadiz, Kenucky on I-24 has good shops; and Hazel, Kentucky on the Tennessee border is a fun antique town too
