Wally deserves more recognition. He was the true and main flash for 20 years and is just as much of the flash as Barry. I like them equally but Wally is arguably better

wally was the one that inspired barry's new character outside of comics, the cw he cracks jokes as much as tobey maguire spider-man does (ik not alot), the lego he is better at cracking jokes than being a hero and uhh, what else?
Having just read Wally’s Rebirth run, it’s weird to think only five years ago that he was still just gone from continuity.

Barry will always be my favourite superhero. He created the speed force, discovered the multiverse, helped stop crisis and had that one moment where he went faster than any other flash.
@TFoxRNG Yeah he did. It was revealed back in Flash Rebirth that he created it and he generates it as he runs.
@TFoxRNG No, it’s still canon. It’s never been retconned to not be canon, so it still is canon.
@TFoxRNG When did they de-canonise it? Because as far as I can tell, they never did.
@TFoxRNG It being introduced in Wally’s run doesn’t mean anything, but none of that really contradicts Barry being the one who made it. Barry creating it made it so it now existed throughout all of time and was always a thing, but he is still the origin point of it. And yes, it’s power is derived from The Source, as is literally everything in the DC Omniverse. And Wally being seen as it’s guardian also means nothing, Barry created it, but Wally mastered it. Regardless of how you feel about it, it is still canon and they likely won’t change that anytime soon.
Barry is forever my flash, the fact he tries to understand the speed force on a scientific level and the fact he created it is just cool to me and I relate to him more

wally west was always my favorite, maybe it's because I grew up with the justice League and justice League unlimited, the fact that he used the speed force even better than Barry is just icing on the cake.

Barry's grandson, Bartholomew Henry Allen II, doesn't exist in the New 52; Bar Torr is a refugee from the future who's using the name Bart Allen.

Of course, the whole story with Barry's parents was a retcon introduced decades after his creation. He started out with two normal, perfectly healthy parents.

Someone needs to tell Dc that just because everything is from the future doesn't make it more interesting
So Barry created the new 52, because he saved his mom in flashpoint. Zoom is wally's villain and Professor Zoom is Barry's. I think that's all I really need from this, but it was interesting. Thanks.

From what I remember Barry was actually trying to put the universe back the way it was supposed to be before Flashpoint, but this cosmic lady called Pandora stepped in and made her own changes resulting in the New 52.

I think that was a retcon. When Flashpoint was originally published there was no mention of Dr. Manhattan.

1. For jay read JSA by Geoff John's volume like he said
2.For Barry read flash rebirth
3.For wally read mark waids run on the flash collected in flash by mark waid book 1 (does include born to run)
4.For Bart although many say to read flash the fastest man alive I'd recommend reading The Impulse by mark waid omnibus that's coming out next month. (It's much better than fastest man alive)

In the 40's Jay Garrick was The Flash after inhaling heavy water vapors. He fought with the J.S?a for several years and reemerged in the 90/2000s. Barry Became the Flash many years later and was the man who created the speedforce. He took up a sidekick named Wally West who was Kid Flash until he was erased form existence and caught in the speeedforce by Abra Kadabra. It was during this time Barry did Flashpoint. Barry got a new sidekick named Bar Torr/Bart Allen who was a criminal from the future and according to Wally's memories might be Barry Allen's grandson. Bart is eventually arrested by the future police. Wally West 2 was Iris's other nephew who is the Flash in the future and he gets speed and becomes Kid Flash. During Rebirth Wally West 1 reemerges from the speedforce and now exists again due to the time/dimensional meddling during Darkseid War and Dr. Manhattan.

You know, the Flash is pretty cool (especially after his rouges got redesigned) but he is also basically responsible for why superhero comics are so complicated and convoluted in the first place. The multiverse, time travel, basically a bunch of topics that make even comic book fans go waah?!

I think it goes like this :
FlashPoint "reset" the Universe with Pandora's help that would've set everything almost back to normal, but in the process, Doctor Manhattan (I don't know how) physically stole 10 years of the heros' lives. That's why they are so much younger than usual/ some relationships are gone/ Wally and Bart erased or rather rewritten. (SPOILER) But don't worry, Wally West (the original) comes back from the speed force and into the new 52.

True, but he is more of the exception than the rule. Miles Morales (who I love overall) has a super villain uncle, Storm is an ex-theif, Static was involved in a gang fight when he got his powers, Falcon was a pimp and an agent of the Red Skull when he got a more developed backstory, John Stewart was anti-authority in the vein of the Black Power movement, Luke Cage was a criminal and named after the Black Power movement, etc. Not even Latino characters are so nearly universally given a crime-related backstory, though they get it pretty bad, too.
