75% of her content is my number 1 favorite. The other 25 percent is in the 2 and 3 spot. I’ve listened to her almost non stop since I discovered her about 8 months ago. CZcams confirmed that she was my number one artist at the end of the year with 4107 minutes streamed. She is miraculous.

From what I understand, she grew up singing gospel in church. This explains the thousands of hours. It is incredible how she alters her tone and registers within single words. And what a range!

Great analysis! English isn't my mother language and you helped me to learn the technical terms to what Yebba is doing with her voice. I recently discovered her and fell right away! The entire album is delightful. She's got that voice I haven't heard in a long time. I'd love you to react to Mitski's "Real Man", it's mind blowing.
I think what makes yebba so amazing is that she PERFECTLY exudes with her voice whatever the emotion she is singing. Like if a word (or abstract concept) had a sound she would know how to sing it. Does that even make sense? Haha her voice isn’t only beautiful and technical, it’s emotional and she does it so effortlessly unlike anyone I’ve ever heard. It’s exactly why I don’t care to hear anybody do covers of yebba songs. Because even if a person can hit all the same notes as yebba they usually are lacking that special quality yebba has.

Just discovered your channel, but please please please react to her tiny desk concert, or at least a few songs from! They are ALL next level!
Everybody has already said tiny desk concert which you are correct is amazing and the full concert it's worth watching all the way through but you should check out her singing smoke it's featuring her but she pretty much blows it out of water and a lot of people haven't heard it and her texture and tone is more in a jazzy twangy, Luke Erykah Badu.

Only thing I'd suggest is making use of your "←" key to pop back 5 seconds after a pause to make sure we're not missing anything, especially when going over virtuosic work such as Yebba's! ;)
She is so vocally gifted I’ve been a big fan of hers since I heard her other heart break and wow she is not only vocally strong sings like an old soul. But anyway so do you know how to do the woo what do you call that section. Everyone has done a riffs video on her but if you could break it down how to do that vocal woo ooo oo you know. Right there with you listening a million times
Ok where do I start? Her song "My Mind" should be at the top of your list to see her breakout performance and understand my obsession :) Also her duet with Clark Beckham covering John Mayer's Gravity is so incredible as are her collabs with PJ Morton (they won a Grammy), Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. Her own songs Evergreen (Apple Music) and October Sky are dedicated to her mother who tragically passed a week after she sang My Mind at SOFAR NY...please react to more Yebba!!!

Yebba is wonderfully talented. I wish that we wouldn't be rushing so fast to give her a Black music identity equal to the soulful greats. In her voice, I hear Eva Cassidy, Dixie Chicks' lead singer, Adele, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, a little Cheryl Crow plus a scattering of country-western yodeling, rock-n-roll belting, some Indian music techniques, and a consistent sampling of Black music styles tucked in for seasoning. In her first album, her music sounds like alternative songs. When she sings with Black gospel back-up and singers and Black musicians and arrangers equivalent to, for example, a Stevie Wonder-type band, she produces music more in an R&B style. I respect her artistry very much, but I enjoy it when we itemize the multiple influences in her sound rather than jump to the easy comparison that she (in her twenties, no less) equals the Black female greats sounds. I look forward to seeing her live.
