- Commercial cashew milk is so full of stuff that isn't cashews that it's a little ridiculous! Homemade cashew milk is far healthier and far less processed. Best of all, there are TWO ingredients, and one is cashews. Making your own cashew milk at home not only makes a more nutritious and better tasting nut milk, it also is much more inexpensive. One cup of cashews makes a quart of milk! That's pretty affordable. Use the cashew milk you make at home in coffee, sauces, in a glass, or anywhere you'd use regular milk.

I make cashew milk all the time in the Vitamix with raw cashews. I don’t soak them nor do I strain them and the milk is just fine. No grittiness at all. I also make cashew creamer for my coffee by adding less water and cashew cream by reducing the water even further. Once again, I never soak or strain and the product is perfectly smooth. Just keep blending in the Vitamix till all trace of the solids are gone.
Don’t put it down the drain .. I just add soaking water into plants or just the grass.. something can use it’s nutrients
Great video. Thank you!
Great video!❤
This is a fascinating video and just watching the process makes me want to make both cashew and almond milk! I like that you can control the liquids viscosity and use the milk as a cream like coconut milk/cream in cooking recipes or reduce it while cooking.
I made cashew butter with the post milking residue.
Great help thank you 😮
You're welcome.
I have an abundance of cashews so I'll make this. Great video as I'm meal prepping for the week.
My favorite is oat milk. Very nice. I put a touch of salt, some honey and some coconut oil in there. For me it is awsome. But raw as you make it is very tasty too. Thank you for sharing
If you want to go cheap, you can use a paint strainer bag.
Sesame milk is great too. About 1/2 c to 4c water no soaking required if you’re in a rush.
Never tried sesame. We have used hemp and sunflower seeds though.
I use a date!
You can. I prefer it unsweetened :)
FYI-It doesn't become aquafaba until the chickpeas are cooked.
One question. Why do you have to discard the soaking water then add new water? Is there something in the soaking water that people don't want in their nut milk?
Well… to be honest? Not sure. I cannot imagine what could be bad about it.
naw!!! that's yuk!! the film that comes from the nuts..nooooo
You didn’t say the ratio of nut to water? 1:4??
Measures should be in the description.
