This song hit me when my son and I listened to it the night of the release...made me instantly think of my brother who was born in El Dorado, KS and died in Oct. 2011 due to PTSD. SFC Lyle W. Zahorsky, we miss you so much. The line "17 years old .." my mom was 17 when she had him. Most of our family lives in the city of El Dorado or area. Damn, this gives me goosebumps in the 100° Kansas heat.

I listen to this song almost everyday, it’s nothing I’ve experienced but his story is kinda like my dads, my dad passed in 2022 when I was 13 due to a work accident but his story (Zach Bryan’s) makes me think of my dads story. My dad went through boot camp to go into the marines but his mom (my grandma) was diagnosed with cancer and he dropped everything to go home to her ❤
