  • Brake fluid flushes on vehicles are typically suggested every 2 years or 30,000 miles. Otherwise, corrosion and rust can cause structural damage to your braking system, leading to costly repairs. You might want to perform this maintenance procedure at home yourself, saving time and money.
In this video I show you how I replaced the brake fluid in my high mileage GMC Sonoma pickup truck. I used a turkey baster to remove the brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir, and I replaced the old dirty fluid with new. I repeated the process two more times after driving a few hundred miles between each fluid change. Repeating this procedure resulted in removal of most of the fluid in the entire brake system.
Unlike the traditional method, manual brake line bleeding was not required. Simply driving and using the brakes removed any air from the brake lines.

I've also heard you can replace the whole fluid from one caliper, if you attach a pressure canister attachment on the filling point with enough fluid in it, let's say 1 ltr, then bleed one caliper untill all the fluid is replaced, apparently new fluid won't mix with old.
