    May need to get some higher snorkel, but it does change the look

    Run your two intake hoses up into the headlight pod. It will retain the factory look and get you the extra height.

      Tryed... there is zero room to do that properly. I am going to run them up and thru that black center panel instead. Video to come once i figure it out and still have it look good.

    how much do you charge for the stealth snorkel system? looks like a great set up

    I have a 2021 sportsman 570 hit a water hole water got in my air box atv killed I turned off the switch. Drained the oil and air box replaced the oil and air filter it still won’t start just turned over and don’t start. What should I do?

      Could be many things. check to see if you actually have spark first...then fuel pressure.

      Sorry to hear that..Do you have spark and fuel? you may have bent a valve(s)

      @@JohnFrancoNH I cant tell because engine wont spin at all. Going to pull head off and check out the valves and see if I can spin the crank with head off

    • @JohnFrancoNH
      @JohnFrancoNH  Před rokem

      Yeah take the head off and see if crank will rotate. On early polaris models the crank sprocket was pressed on and not keyed. And when they would get hydro locked it would spin the crank sprocket on the shaft out of timing. Its also possible to shear off that key on the crank and cause the same. If unlucky enough.
      Best bet is to buy a yamaha factory service manual and and follow factory procedure to see if all the timing marks are align the way it should be with valve train. Im glad i had a factory service manual when i completely rebuilt my trashed motor i used it alot.

    Putting my machine into swamp funk. Never made sense to me. And these machines are expensive. Mudding is one thing. Im new to wheeling. Maybe im missing something? Im learning.

    • @JohnFrancoNH
      @JohnFrancoNH  Před 2 měsíci

      I agree these machines are very expensive. And im more careful now, after having to rebuild my hydro locked motor in my XP1000. Riding trails and scenery get boring LOL. You are new which is ok, but after you have been riding for 2 decades you want more of a challenge sometimes. Even if its borderline dumb.

    If the engine was still running. And you just ended up with the milky oil only. How would you go about cleaning that. ?

    • @JohnFrancoNH
      @JohnFrancoNH  Před rokem +1

      At a minimum you will need to drain and replace oil and filter and freaking pray, pray nothing went past a collapsed air filter and down thru the pcv hose. On my machine there was debris and plant matter stuck on the oil pump inlet screen inside the engine. Impossible to see. Only seen after a full on engine disassembly/rebuild. Which led to main bearing failure due to oil starvation as well as a bent connecting rod.

    • @Teklow82
      @Teklow82 Před rokem

      Well I ended up after deliberating with a ATV mechanic. I got the valvoline 10-40 Atv oil from Walmarts for under $5 a qt. And a few fram 6017a filters. And a bottle of sea foam. Did 62oz of oil and 4oz of sea foam. Ram quad to 150f then did a 10min timer. The second round oil looks good as new again. I let it sit overnight and checked it this morning still looks good. I’m going to check on it daily until Saturday when my polaris oil gets in. Not going to ride it till then. But no unusual noises. Thing polaris engines sound wierd anyways compared to Honda. But nothing out of the ordinary. So will see after I get it out in the trial next to house and put some stress on it. But I was able to rev it to 5k no issues. So maybe I’m in the clear

    • @JohnFrancoNH
      @JohnFrancoNH  Před rokem

      Also check your trans and diff fluids but yes use suitable cheaper oil and filter to flush out anything in engine. Then replace with polaris spec. Most residual moisture will cook off once you get it hot and running.

    Hey John, love your videos. Question - how did you get the machines so clean in side and out after flooding them? They look like they are practically off the showroom floor.

    • @JohnFrancoNH
      @JohnFrancoNH  Před 2 lety

      well i pressure wash them really good with hot water after serious rides. soap them down real good once a year and use SC1 spray on them. Thanks for watching!

    Dude, you have water in your fuel. The smoke from the dip stick is steam. I bet you need to just drain your fluids again and clean the gas tank. When my ranger when into the lake it was the same thing.

      @@JohnFrancoNH You have a nice set-up, I like how you can't see everything, factory look. Looks fun going deep in the water/mud! Just wish I had like a old honda to mud out. Or just get a can-am xmr to start with. Not willing to do it with a regular 10k+ sportsman because of what just happened. Good job on the videos, you have good sportsman content! 👍🍺
