Wieder eine wahnsinns Zusammenstellung! Ein Riesenhaufen toller Songs und Superhits! "Verdammt ich lieb dich", "I promised myself", "Nothing compares to you", "se bastasse una canzione", "Kingston Town" , "Ice ice baby", "The Joker", etc., etc. etc! Very, very good Job Francis! Thank you for so much Memories!
Thank you Francis 👍 A new decade for Germany and a reunified country. Thank heavens they had a vote of non-confidence in Jive Bunny there. Glad they appreciated the excellent 'In Private'. Underrated song. Surprised 'Sacrifice' didn't get any higher there, yet it was a long runner. The multiple versions remain it seems. 'Rhythm Nation' - #83?! That was huge in the US and UK. Glad Sinead spent 11 weeks ago the summit with 'Nothing Compares 2 U'. Beautiful song. One of my favourites (second choice). Cher was at her best in this era too and very pretty. Forgotten gem with Mantronix - 'Got To Have Your Love'. Way better than the Liberty X cover. I adore Paula Abdul. My favourite song on this list 'How Am I Supposed To Live Without You' (I don't really care what people think, it's beautiful) only made #15. That's respectable but the US and UK loved it more. Madge released a timeless classic with 'Vogue'. 4th very respectable. 'Werdammt...' well that was unstoppable there. 'Read My Lips' is an underrated song. Strong message in that song. Unpopular opinion, I actually like Kim Wilde this in era. The UK didn't appreciate it, but glad to see the Germans took to it reasonably well. I adore 'Cradle Of Love'. Thats my third fave. Was that same girl used in all of the Black Box videos? Anything from the old East Germany in here out of interest? Good to see Mylene Farmer on here. Naked In The Rain' is a true early dance classic. The emergence of Mariah was starting - one of her best albums her debut is. Also George Michael released his best album 'Listen Without Prejudice' then. I do like 'Heart Like A Wheel'. Underrated track. At least Dee-Lite didn't have the pain of losing on a tiebreak here like they did in the UK for top spot. 'Sadeness' is a classic. Shame it only had a week here in first. So many good songs on here. I'd have a long list. Germany did make the wrong choice in Eurovision, and the 51st place in the chart says it all. Yes it was top 10, but I think recent events helped it. Some bad remixes on here, especially the ABC one and Sinead ones. The Eurovision winner didn't do too bad from Italy that year at 13th place. I think it's a good winner, just a shame the message is lost 32 years on. Yes recent events helped (The UK didn't vote for it), but it doesn't deserve hate. Funny how an England World Cup song made the top 30 there 😂 I think France would have been a more interesting winner at Eurovision and glad it got a place in the German charts. It's a bit of a weird year, but in a good way.
Sacrifice should be no surprise, the song was a huge flop upon its original release in 1989. In the UK it only reached #56. Then in 1990 it went to number 1 with a re-release. So it's no surprise.
Francis, you are amazing at your job! 1990 - how many deep and clear memories, actually I remember almost every song in this set, even some crap remixes and terrible covers. The absolute domination of house, eurodance, the techno era is about to begin. Snap attacked four times, worst position was # 4 - what a score! Last breaths of SAW (deservedly!) and unfortunately Fleetwood Mac, Eurythmics, A-ha, Tears For Fears. Never been a Cher, Mariah nor Paula Abdul's fan, but that's when they released their best songs, so 23:21, 4:52, 6:10 should definitely be higher on the list. Same with Janet, 2:57 peaking at # 83 is pure joke to me. The coolest surprise - 5:40, wonderful Joniece, powerful backing vocal for many Eurythmics songs and concerts (Missionary Man !!!), here in her only hit ... Have a nice and relaxing weekend!
Yes! Very fond memories return. My favorites include "I Promised Myself" by Nick Kamen (who sadly passed away a few months ago), "Pictures of You" by The Cure and also "Sans contrefaçon" by Mylène Farmer. (Very strange song. Why would she be a boy?)
Merci beaucoup Francis pour tout ce travail ! But what a disappointing year! One of the last years when I was still too young to listen to the radio or watch music on TV. I now realize how few tracks from this year I have in my playlists. Bad covers and remixes, kylie and jason uninteresting, disappointing eurodance (even though I adore that style from 92-95) , and great 80s artists bringing boring songs (belinda carlisle, the cure, Sandra). Luckily it didn't last as 1991 has some of my favorites. This gives me hope that after 2022 there will be better music again!
@@andimusicjunkie3990 Sorry maybe I was a little extreme in my comment... But I was surprised how few songs I really liked in this 1990 video compared to other years
@@edouardoneill Never mind, everyone has his own opinion and music taste. But overall I felt the same way about 1990. The only difference is that I was expecting it. I remember turning into female hard rock in the early 90s because of the overdose of techno and euro dance. But today I like or appreciate the classics. The second half of the 90s were more my cup of tea, I really loved dream dance for example...
Really enjoyed this video, but you put German Singles Charts 1990 but underneath say: All songs entering in the German singles charts from January to December 1989 (About 350 songs)! Also once you done all of the other charts for the rest of the 90's in Germany. Please do same for: The Netherlands, Sweden, France, Belgium from 1980-89 and then 90-99 please??
Advice For The Young at Heart ♥
Great to see that you continue this series with the 90s!
3 brilliant singles from Depeche Mode!
Sailor's 'Secretary" is such an underrated song, the chorus is infectiously catchy!
I did not even know they had another song after the 70ies. Yes, really underrated!
I was a soldier in this year. So I had a LOT of time to watch the MTV. 😄
Nice old memories!
Good work, Francis, we're waiting for 1991.
Thanks For Sharing!
GIVE IT UP = LOVE IS IN THE AIR
Nice trip back to the 90`s. Merci Francis.
Very impressive work Francis!!

Thank you so much for that hard work!!! 😘
In dem Jahr wurde ich 20 Jahre alt. Viele Erinnerungen an diese Zeit
Matthias Reim Verdammt, ich lieb' Dich was the best selling Single in Germany of the 90ies.
thank u , i found out so many neverhearded tracks thru ur videos!!
Well done Francis, again some gems found!!
I'm missing Germany 1976 and below...

I think Rhythm Nation wasnt a very mainstream song at the time for Germans. But at least we liked Miss you much in 1989 and Escapade in 1990.

My favorite song of 1990: Madonna - "Vogue".
Ewww Janet Jackson better she fought issues Modena caused them
She was overrated in the 1990s also doubt it’s your fave song
Thank you so much. Great video. I wait from the years 91 - 99. I´m so exited. Bye.🙂

So many different Styles. Today everything sounds similary.
La belle epoque.

They confused her often as a boy when she was a child. But it isn't by far her strangest song.. 😉
Roxette ROX!!!
great compilation keep it up :)
Erasure - You Surround me, that sounds so much like Simple Minds song
Keep on the nice job man!
class
31:41 yeah yeah Freedom
Some german people missunderstood the text from Snap's ,,The Power". Instead ,,I've got the power" they say ,,Agathe Bauer".
Merci beaucoup Francis pour tout ce travail !

Just my opinion, but I think La Luna is everything but boring. And Better the devil you know is until today a highlight on every Kylie tour...

Exelentes videos pero por favor, crea play list por década please !!!
Quite disheartened "18 & Life" by Skid Row didn't chart here. Even in the UK it reached 12 in mid-February although it didn't last long sadly.
I bet Germans weren’t ready for metal rock to enter the charts, they had Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, and Scorpions which have yet to chart in 1991.
Where is Scorpions' "Wind of Change"? It was released on 6th November 1990 as a part of "Crazy World" album
Entry in 1991
The B52's - Roam , only 40th place??? that's a top 10 single
Well not in Germany, but the album it came off of: Cosmic Thing was a hit in Germany! 🙂
George Michael’s Freedom at number 41 only ? 😮

Die meisten Lieder sind auf Englisch, wie nervig ist das denn!
What a shitty year - with a few exceptions, it‘s cheap covers, even cheaper boygroups and the cheapest bargain bin Eurodance. Even Bon Jovi sucked.
1990 had forgotten jewels and awesome all time classics but I agree that the quality was falling...
Спасибо тебе добрый человек! Отличнейшие ты делаешь подборки. Всегда лайк.
