About Chang Yu... yeah he's definitely a unit, unfortunately he's considered as one if not worst character in the game... Which is a shame because it's one of my favorites character in terms of design and gameplay Like i know there is no objectively bad character in PGR but Chang Yu's history is still really funny : when he got released he was the only ice unit besides plume. Through theory crafting, veteran players found out that it was literally better in terms of performance to not use him in the ice team, and use only Plume as solo dps with 2 QTE units, being Ayla Brilliance and Lucia Lotus. When you're being surclassed in your own team by 2 characters that don't even have the right element or any dps capability, you can still see that you're in a bad spot. (S rank Chang Yu when, Kuro ? We deserve it !)
It's less that he's bad, and more along the lines that he just can't fill your Ice Tank needs QTE-wise, since he can't trigger Einsteina's 2-piece memory set bonus of reducing enemy resistance towards a specific elemental damage type... which is kinda what you want from an Ice Tank. He's good on-field, terrible off-field. Chrome Glory's phenomenal off-field, and way better than Chongyun on-field, so that's why everyone wants Chrome over Chang yu.
As of in CN, Ice and Dark are falling behind because of their attackers. For the longest time for around 3 years now in CN, Plume and Luna: Laurel are still at the top for attackers, for global they are still good for the long run.
Changyu while a fun unit to play, meta wise had pretty much no role Ice team on global rn is dependant on having Plume on your team and if you have Plume and no Chrome, the best tank option is Ayla Brilliance because of how unreliable Changyu is as a ice debuffer.
Chrome Glory is not a balanced unit. Before powercreep era, he is considered the most broken unit in game. He is like a Zhongli on steroids, just imagine that shield that regenerates everytime you get hit with a 5 second cooldown while dishing and parrying damage simultaneously. You will not need a healer if you have him. He even sometimes outdamages my Lucia: Plume in both Warzone and Pain Cage.

He'd not MINDLESSLY broken. Just pretty dang brokenly strong. The trade-off with Glory is that as his shield goes up, his maximum HP goes down. I've mistimed my Normal Attack spam before and gotten obliterated by an enemy attack before I could trigger his parry mechanic, so it's not like using him requires zero skill. Now Zhongli on the other hand- XD XD XD

With Zhongli's shield, whatever you do whether you dodge or just stand, if it takes damage, the shield will deplete, whereas with S Chrome, once you hold that core passive, no skill is needed there, just ape shit unga bunga that normal attack button to continuously regenerate that shield then quick swap to another character (Plume) until his passive is up again after 5 secs or so.
Glad I have Plume, Luna & Garnet for long term run. I satisfied got em and grateful. 😊 And Boi yeah Boiiii Ayla *ＴＨＩＣＣ* is coming. Although she is same as Cappricio malding hardly (I hope No, Please Kuro Help) ಥ‿ಥ
Ayla Brilliance can be an ice tank substitute with the right memories (4pc Chen Jiyuan, 2pc Gloria), technically better than ChangYu if you don't have his signature weapon. Use her as a QTE bot with Plume as your main with 2 pc Einsteina. Not Ideal but if you don't have Chrome it works as a F2P/low spender option. Kinda wierd how that worked out, poor ChangYu.
Not gonna lie, after i take plume home from S char selector, she carry my team more faster in any battle mode (since i just started playing pgr less than 2 weeks)... I'm so grateful
Noobies question: is it really necessary to use 1 tank 1 dps 1 support/amplifier in your team? Are unorthodox team comps ( maybe something like 2 dps 1 amplifier or 1 dps 1 support 1 amplifier or 2 tanks 1 support and etc.) just plain bad?
yh they kind of are. Tank passives dont stack, so it significantly reduces your dps. Supports just do negligible damage, and dps need the buffs from the other two clases to get their insane numbers

That's what all of Global had to deal with before Glory and Wanshi released. Everyone ran around with Lucia Lotus and Ayla Brilliance on their "Ice" team with Plume using various miscellaneous memory sets to boost Plume's nuke as high as possible.
tank?...A2 Nier DPS?....A2 Nier again...only problem for me...not enough BC to push all of them to SSS, except A2 (which for me, is still the most freaking amazing tank+dps). A2 is worthless without the other nier teams; 2B and 9S. No rerun unfortunately, broken meta.
Well, we have already reached the point where the Nier team is slowly dropping in the meta ranking, and soon they won't even be considered overly strong anymore. So at least in terms of meta a rerun really isn't necessary. They will be reduced to mostly collectible value soon.

Nah bro you can play however you see fit. In my opinion tanks are just more useful because they can shred enemy shields unlike attackers.
