I hope that every single one here who has or has had the problem files a NHTSA safety report. That may trigger an investigation. I had this same issue on my 2021 JLUR. In my case it was a chafing harness near the bell housing of the transmission. Rather than waiting on a backorder harness, the dealer tech and I agreed to simply repair the chafed insulation. It fixed the problem, but I am afraid it is only a matter of time until another harness or connector chafes somewhere. I'm keeping an eye on all my harnesses and will put tape on all areas that look like they may chafe (e.g. sway bar harness).
My 18 charger has been doing this and I’m scared to death someone is going to crash into me. I don’t know how to go about fixing it seeing that it isn’t under warranty anymore I feel like dealership will Price gouge me. 😣😫😫
2017 ram tripped when i accidentally hit a white connector on the fire wall by my left foot. Truck started freaking out. Pushed the harness back together, it has a weird latch on it and everything came back on line.
My wife's 17 Pacifica is jumping from Drive to park unexpectedly when almost stopping in a traffic light. Let's say from to miles per hour to 0 suddenly stop & shut down the engine. Then it has to be restarted. Very annoying. Waiting to go to the dealer for diagnostics. Right now is failing to start sometimes sometimes after 2 days of no use. Alternator, battery and starter were tested with no problem. No leaks detection on electrical wiring or connections.
Mine threw every light including windshield wipers going off, usually when cold your battery terminals get a little loose and weak, i just disconnected it and reconnected it
Having the same problem on a Durango, mechanic changed shift nob and another control module still wouldn’t resolve the issue, it has to be the battery terminals and ground wires?
Today is Wednesday June 2 2021 Right now im driving a 2019 jeep compass from Tucson Arizona to corpus christi Texas with the same problem is been a hell of a drive I hope to make it safe all the way to my house, fucking Chrysler I can't way to get rid of this shit
I have a 21 jeep gladiator and mine started doing this at 35,000 miles. Took it to the dealership and they had it for two weeks and all they could do was erase all the codes and then said it drove fine which it did for about a month then happened again, just went to oreilys and used their code reader to have it going again, eventually that stopped working and had to reset the truck which involves unhooking the main battery and auxilery battery under the fuse box that you can pretty much only get to From under the truck. Realized it only happens when I’ve been driving in the rain cause it started happening more and more as the weather turned in the fall, Brought it back to the dealership 3 more times, they’ve tried to tell me it was becuase of a low battery, which I told them no it’s not but go ahead and replace it, the battery is low becuase when this happens and stays on long enough I can’t even shut the car off until I unhook the batteries which takes 30 min because the auxilery one is a piece of shit to get to. Had it for two weeks charged me almost 900 dollars and it failed on the way home from the dealership. Then they replaced the wiring harness under the passenger side dash and had it for 6 weeks to do that. Still fucked up, in the process of trying to claim lemon law on it now.
@@nicoleselders5169 The SW update simply tells the computer to ignore transient faults and alert only on persistent faults. It does NOT fix the underlying problem. The problem is corruption/errors on CAN C Bus messages. If you pull your codes with a scanner, I'll guarantee you will have dozens of error messages stored. I pull the messages and took a print out to the dealer. That is the only thing that motivated them to do anything. Also this is under the powertrain warranty - so 5 years, 60K miles.
My 2015 R/T is doing this and causing the electronic brake control and throttle control to yelp as well. It happens intermittently. Did you have The shift control replaced?? And did it correct the problem?
Have the same exact issue on my 2016 ram rt. It alrady happened 3 times after taking it to the dodge dealership. Did you find out what was wrong with it
I’m having the same issue when I stop the message comes on then everytime I stop it dings. It freaks out if you stop quickly or accelerate hard. But it’s fine if you don’t drive it like a bad out of hell. Please help
In my case it was a wiring harness that was chafing on the side of the transmission. The harness was back ordered, so the dealer tech and I agreed that we would patch the harness instead of replacing it. So far, so good. There are a few different spots the harnesses can chafe, bend or have loose contact (front of vehicle near radiator on Wrangler Rubicon, side of transmission on all vehicles, behind glove box, behind passenger seat, etc).
10-11 months. No, even after one of their engineers from NY couldn't figure it out. Filed complaint under lemon law, kind of got screwed with getting my money back but better than nothing.
@@angelicasosa264its pretty much a joke. They go by what you paid, mileage, depreciation. Not by market value. I got none of the money back that a put down because I rolled over 2k from other loan. Basically paid alot of money to "rent" a piece of crap that I could barely drive for 5 out of the 12 months I had it.
How did you fix it?? Mines is doing the same thing. The dealership changed it like 2 months ago but now it popped up and the car won't even turn on. I can't even open my trunk and the key fob is beeping even louder
@@latashahall1743 in my case the LED lights on the shifter had a short and were dim and for some reason leaving service shifter for some stupid lights telling me what gear I’m in. I fixed it by replacing the plastic piece that has the lights in it.

I agree, its dangerous! I would lose power steering when it would happen. Kind of scary in the middle of a turn.

My gladiator just did this, it was the wiring harness touching the catalityc convertor sensor, I've pulled it back problem solved

They didn't do anything because they couldn't figure out what was causing it. It was a lemon and I got a refund, they screwed me in that too.

Sorry, never saw your comment. No, Chrysler had one of their top techs tear it apart and couldn't figure it out. Chrysler bought it back

Disconnect your negative battery terminal for 15 second then put it back tight should go away chryslers cars just dumb
