Do you have a way that I can message you privately? I am working on an M 38 as well. I have a feeling mine might have been at Fort Jackson, but I can’t figure out how to trace it.
Hi, feel free to send me a message. However there is really no way to track these due to the army disposing of all of the docs when they were surplussed out. I only know of the history on mine as it was purchased by my late grandfather back in 1973 from surplus action.

I am in Lexington SC and currently putting mine back together. We should definitely find some time to meet up after they are both finished.
