Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Hmm… I know nothing of how the game works, but I have an idea: since you can make the game night time, what about night dogfighting with nameplates turned off so you have to actually search for each other? Try to be stealthy in the dark and surprise each other, lights and bright paint colors possibly giving yourself away to the others. If it’s possible, could be interesting.
They have in previous videos. So im pretty sure you can.

@@ledocteur7701 You can turn off player names of people on different teams for everyone as long as you're hosting, it's in the session options just like time of day and gravity.
@@Gamer12666 Partially, as soon as you get with in lock on distance and even a bit further then that the name plates pop up again, so if you want to actually play strategically then is still not really possible.

To be fair, you wouldn't expect the EMP cannon to deal any damage because it's just supposed to disable mechanical blocks, but Scrapman learned that the projectile does actually deal physical damage when you fire several of them together. So, I do wonder if the same holds true for the fireworks launcher, they _might_ still deal some tiny amount of damage that only makes itself apparent when you fire a bunch of them all at once (unless the devs learned and they really do deal _no_ damage at all)

One sounded like from Germany, if I recognized it correctly. It sounds like "zu spät, zu spät", which basically means "too late" ^^

To be honest, with the outboard motor revving up, it also had the sound of the US fire siren mixed in there which got me all sorts of confused. I was like, "Why did they jam every emergency siren into this one piece?" Turns out when one siren is going and you have a winding up sound, it starts to sound similar to the US fire sirens (at least the first bit.)
Another idea: night-time hide-n-seek. Set flares on a timer to go off periodically while driving around at night, and to switch it up do it on the original campaign map in different areas, like the cherry blossom island. Could also add guns to make it more tag like too.
I know some people gonna use the signal flares as non functional countermeasures for planes
I've wanted you to do cops and robber for a long time. One person is the robber, they can have two guns and have a block limit of 150. There are two cop with only one gun, there are allowed only one gun each. The robber will try to escape from the cops and once they can't move or kicked out of the sit the round ends. Your score will be the time that you lasted without the cop catching you. This game mod would be done with cars, obviously, and could be done on the campaign map or the sky map. I really hope to see a video of you guys doing this, it seems really fun.

Self-sabotage battle: you could do this with planes, boats, car or anything else.
Every minute or so, you have to drop a wing, or wheel, or flotation block, so as the battle goes on, your vehicle just falls apart.
Problem with that is putting detachment blocks on every part is basically impossible.
Not on every part, just the important ones ( they did an idea simmilar to this before but with emps instead of timers)
It being time based would be interesting because they would always have the same level of damages ( unless they damage each other )
Police chase but in the high seas intense wave mode, or racing with intense waves in the race island would be fun as heck!
I loved the tm devs to death, but if they make this dlc $10 or more, i just can’t 😭

Cops And Robbers type game: there is explosive treasure and the robbers have to try get as much treasure to their spawn point as possible within 5 minutes. there are 3 types of treasure: heavy, 5pts, medium, 3pts, light, 1pt, the cops have 1 smart cannon on 0.1 aim assist and they have to try shoot the explosive treasure ( i know its counter intuitive ) but thats how a cop will stop the robbers. the robbers must carry the treasure exposed at the back and can drop one block to mess up the cop's aim assist. for a robber to no longer be in and have to respawn, they either have to be; disabled as in kicked out of their seat or no longer be able to drive, or the treasure explodes. then they must backspace, for a robber to successfully score a point, they must reach their checkpoint with the treasure. the cops dont need to backspace, they can just repair.
to make sure the treasure doesnt randomly explode when a robber respawns, place the treasure in a designated area near the checkpoint.
The camera is pretty much just a drone that can stop time, very cool. 👌
You do have to love how often these devs push out major and somewhat major updates.
Even if they charge for it like DLC at leasr they are putting in the work.
Video Idea!!! Using the fireworks/flares, you could do a search and rescue challenge. Go back to the ocean map, turn name plates off, heavy waves, bad weather, night time. One person in either a Plane or Boat trying to find the other person who's "stranded". The one who needs to be rescued, is actually trying to evade the rescue,(for competition purposes) but they'll have the fireworks going off on a set interval to give away their location. Person who rescues the fastest wins! Could be done with multiple people or just 2 of you.
If you did it with a group, maybe you could even make the stranded ones "disabled" like no steering, or propulsion, that way the current takes them away and they'll actually need to be rescued legit. What ever you think makes for a better video! I think this way would be super neat! but not as fun when you have to play the stranded boat, you're literally just watching and waiting :p
I was under the understanding for a while that on a helicopter with a single set of blades the rear propeller was there to combat the Torque and so turning left or right would be as easy as increasing the rear propeller speed or decreasing it. That way it would not have to "ramp up" and could be constantly spinning in sync with the blades. I would love to see scrapman experiment with this idea even tho it might be hard logistically.

What about a rescue challenge where you have to rescue someone with hud off. You'd have a vehicle for a person to be rescued in, and then everyone builds rescue boats. Whoever has the shortest time wins.

Trailmakers: I tripled over a cat and found this update hidden under the sofa. It's not the largest thing ever, but it'll probably give a lot of enjoyment.

RED - Ambulance/Fire emergency rescue
BLUE - Law enforcement
YELLOW - Utility vehicles/tow trucks/construction
GREEN - Ghostbusters
Though there is overlap, for example many police have red and or yellow in addition to blue.
Try to replicate the VVA-14! It´s a VTOL Ground effect aircraft and looks very weird
Video idea: Those flares beg for some more testing, do rockets lock on to them? how do they work in space?
You should revisit the surfboard now that you can have big waves without massive amounts of wind.
I'm exited to see what you guys do with this stuff it looks so fun.
I dont remember if magnets work on other vehicles, but if there is a way to attatch vehicles together you could do a rescue race! One boat goes out to sea and "breaks down" and they send out a flare signaling for the rescuers to get to them and bring them back to shore!
Those new Emergency lights and space gave me a idea to see if the lilo and stitch ships have been made.
Try making a ship that when you press a button the bottem of the ship
out and maks a smaller one.
Only use it if the ship is midly damaged
I can't help but to wonder if the new Propeller works underwater and can become a potential 3rd propulsion option for Boats and Subs... and can you face them forward and have them work like Airplane Propellers for Flying...?
Also, it might be amusing seeing a Contest to create a Combat Vehicle to fight against others that has to use the new Truss Blocks and can't have more than 15 non-Truss Blocks in it, which will make one have to think about how to divvy up the usage of the 15 non-Truss between the essentials from Cockpit to Propulsion to Mechanical Parts to Weapons...

SPEEDBOAT COPS AND ROBBERS
Everyone makes a speed boat using shared rules (consider making rotatable weapons a requirement for excitement). All boats must have a decoupler holding their engine. 1 Player is the robber and can use a damaging gun on their boat for defense. The cops can only use EMPs in hopes of disabling the engine (by disconnecting it) so they can take the robber into custody. Set the ocean to the biggest waves. All players take turns. Farthest laps around the island win. Optional rule: When players reach a certain point, or maybe 1 lap then the cops can ram the suspect and destroy them in addition to disabling their engine.
Lastly, I just wanted to say how much I love your content. Been watching for a couple years and I never comment. But I love every video, especially Multiplayer Mondays!

An absolutely GROUNDBREAKING suggestion:
"Normal" series. Where you just build bunch of normal things, maybe with a bit of variations or experimentations, but the video starts with building a normal something. Car, plane, bike, balloon/airship, rocket/shuttle, hovercraft, ship, speedboat, whatever. And then you can extend it with mutating it a bit in some ways if you find the idea of just making that normal baseline thing a bit boring on its own for the video or in general.
Maybe some new blocks can make it more fun too.
The firework if shot enough could act like a flashbang
Idea:propulsion derby/sumo, attach a tail propeller on a car make it so u cant move with the wheels, u must use your tail propeller to boost you, you can only turn with wheels and move with the tail propeller. Make a platform so you can knock eachother off. You can only use melee to push eachother off the platform. So if you boost too much you'll fall.
Pls do this idea or challenge for you and your friends.
You could do a challenge where you have to hide or being hidden is an advantage and then every minute or so a firework will go off giving your position away
You could also use signal flares
Like stormworks, but backwards. Space and then rescue
You can still use the fireworks for games. Like a "tag" sort of game.
The signal flare would be useful for team events to indicate that a player has completed their task(s).
You should do a rescue competition with the flares where one person is trying to strand themselves and the other must rescue them
Imagine using fireworks as extreme flashbangs with the piston glitch i think players will be blind for it MAYBE even during combat
Awwww it would be so cool if the flares could distract weapon reticles like they used to redirect heatseeking missiles!

Something I think would be fun to see is if you did a small speed boat that has to run from a larger boat that can shoot them or it can have a helicopter that it can launch to go chace it down and stop it
Fireworks during a no-lock-on fight would be cool, make it harder to see for your enemies. But no damage so you can use them with other weapons and vehicles.
What I would like to see in the future is a search and rescue campaign.

7:17 - this firework stuff got me an idea for what if it changed the color of stuff? we could have paintball or other kinds of domination games where you need to paint a spot to claim a "base".

Video idea: 2v2 space dog fight. 2 people share one ship with one driver that controls the guns on the front, and a gunner in the back. Like a tie-fighter from starwars. The fight also has to be in first person.
Doing some cops and robbers on the Trail City map mod would be amazing!

You guys should do a rescue mission challenge where you have to make a rescue vehicle and pick up another player from being in the water and bring them back to land safely. Whoever is fastest wins the round.
Video idea: 1 robber explodes into the back of a bank vault, stealing a diamond while 2 police chase the rober before the rober takes the diamond to its hideout
Oh, interesting idea, cops and robbers except the cops have to disable the robbers vehicle using NON LETHAL force! It would be cool to see some contraptions that can tangle up or stop a vehicle without killing the robber
Since they explode on contact you can test the distance and have a battle because they don't do DMG but explode on contact
Of course there are fires on ships. Have you seen what happens when electric cars are put on ships????
Also, anyone else seeing one of the fellas from the multiplayer challenges in a "cops and robbers" themed challenge ramming the "robber" with a fire truck rigged with anchor blocks and TNT just screaming, "SIR AND OR MA'AM! REMAIN CALM!! I AM HERE TO RESCUE YOU!!!" Like there should be a version of cops and robbers of serious apprehension and then a version where the lines are a bit blurred on who exactly is on the side of justice. Is it the robber stealing for the food bank or is it the cop crushing the local orphanage with their swat tank, guns ablaz'n? I think it'd be a fun theme and inverse theme.
For cops and robbers put a cage around the water spawn zone and have sensors by the front so the robbers can free each other once one is captured by a cop. And if a cop hits a robber the robber has to respawn to the water check point so they can be caged.
I don't know if this will actually work so try it yourself if it does please make a copy and robbers video

Also have a team build banks and one a van. Also have guards protecting on watch towers or on the bank turrets ballon defense style.
I wonder if the flare can act as a countermeasure to lock on weapons???
it would be cool to see some of these new blocks in campaign mode, so we could try new builds and ways to complete the campaigns increasing replayability..
I do not think there needs to be a new Truss category as what you did looked fine. The solid square block has all the connection points you need and looks fine.
So those small propellers are variable thrust. That is really cool for all sorts of things. How much thrust does it give so compared to a variable balloon or thrust compared to a small propeller?
You should do night fighting with no HUDS so team mates could call for help with flares.

With character death in multiplayer now available, it'll raise the stakes on lots of vs. challenges.
I want to see a fort siege of some kind. 2 people in the fort defending. 2 or more in go-kart seat vehicles below 150 blocks and only 4 power cores. Gotta get in past the defenses and blow up the core!
Day 5 of asking scrapman to do a multiplayer battle with train-planes in trailmakers (a train with wings on all of the cars) My suggestions: (don't read If you want to make up your own rules) - I would suggest using a canard layout for the engine car so it can get off of the ground and no control surfaces or propellers/thrusters on the trailing cars as they will be lost in battle. I think a good complexity limit would be 75 blocks for the engine car and 50 for all trailing cars. Vertical stabilization would be tricky because a traditional rudder would probably only work on the final car but the final car could get shot off so you might have to resort to a gyro for vertical/yaw stabilization in the engine car.
You should do a 2v2 evolution with cars and planes or just planes.
Love that their is a new upcoming update, but for now, i must go back to my slumber, tata scrapman!
Could you make like a sinking ship scenario with maybe timed explosives or weapons that shoot off buoyancy so the longer you take the more damage the ship takes and progressively sinks

Idea: So you and yuzie build a robber car and a police helicopter, both have weapons just the car can have 1 gun and helicopter has 5, robber starts in robber outfit, gets on the runway and has to get to the other side of the map and shoots a flair to win, cop starts at aircraft carrier and has to disable the car, when the car gets destroyed they backspace to most recent checkpoint, you can go over checkpoints and whoever ends at the fastest time wins
