Hey Mitch! I knew wood chippers are handy for cleaning up from cutting trails but this is the first time I’ve seen one used to GRADE the trail. Novel idea! With your welding skills, you could easily turn the base of the wood chipper into a mini box blade. Looking forward to seeing your video on that project. LOL! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Martin funny you say that because when I was editing I was thinking of a box blade add on to the chipper 😂thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
The devastating blow (kick) you delivered to that poor branch seemed unnecessary Mitch :)
Thanks Case I was really focused on that branch.😂 sometimes it’s the little things that matter😜thanks for checking out the video bud😁👍🚜💨🍳
I was noticing on my WC68 that it has a couple of holes near the 3pt. Hitch attachment to insert the pegs while unhooked making it ready to back up the tractor without tossing them somewhere. Cool.
Yep 👍 it’s pretty cool Thanks for pointing that out. Have a great weekend 😁👍🚜💨🍳
Nice video. Bet there was some pucker factor with that steep, muddy, hill!
Thanks 😁you must not of the suction cup sound effect😂have a great weekend 🚜💨🍳
Great video as always guys glad you didn't get too stuck! One of those wood chippers would be handy for us lol 😆 have a gooden
Thanks Pete 😁 the wood chips are great for muddy areas. You have a good day buddy 😁👍🚜💨🍳
Wow! I have never seen a chipper/grader combo before! I don't think my chipper could handle all that greenery without getting plugged up! Great chipper! Cheers!
Yeah Mike after seeing that I should have lifted it up higher😂 oh well got out safely that’s all that matters. Thanks for checking out the video and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having.😁👍🚜💨🍳
That was some steep land my friend. Good job. When are the bugs expected to die off?
Thanks Ross they are usually gone after the first frost. Thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
Nice job folks! Love those Woodland Mills chippers.
Thanks 😁just wish we could have got to the big stuff at the end of the trail. We are very happy with the WC68😁👍🚜💨🍳
@@MJADoingStuff start blazing the trail so you can get there!
“Buckle up Buttercup”, lol.
😜👍 Jamie is always giving me 💩 have a great week Gary.
@@MJADoingStuff , that was rich Mitch. Tell Jamie that she gets the “ thumbs up” this time
Great video, that trail looked very scary but you did a great job getting out
Thanks Joseph I am going back to level it off for next time. Thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
Video always makes the ground look flat but I'll bet that hill was really steep. The chipper works really well though.
Thanks 😁Yeah I was a little nervous but if it was going over I wanted it on camera😂 we enjoy chipping. Have a great Labor Day weekend 🚜💨🍳
The thing I don't like about these chippers is how slow the flywheel spins. I have an old DR 18hp gravity/pinch feed. It is belt driven off the 3600 rpm engine, maybe a slightly larger pulley on the driven side, but that thing runs at least 3000 rpm and it kills these power fed machines on speed and chip size. The weakness is not being able to slow it down for larger branches. I wish the WM machines were belt driven to jack up the speed and cut smoother. They look like a great deal otherwise.
I agree 😁That would be awesome if it was faster. I am getting older and don’t think I can keep up anyway😂 I have another wood chipper video coming out tomorrow hope you come back and check it out. Have a great weekend 😁👍🚜💨🍳
@Tractor.Mods.Fabrication the old DR will run two people to death feeding 2 to 3 inch round brush, but the speed keeps the chipper from damaging itself more than anything it seems to me. A fast chop is a smoother chop, and when it us going slower and really relying more on the torque of the engine, damage is more likely. Might not be a big problem since I've never seen a video about a bent flywheel in one of these WM chippers, but that's what happened to my DR, and making a new flywheel was the only realistic solution for me. The cost of a replacement from DR is about 2x what I paid for the whole machine.
@@matthewtaylor2185 There is always good and bad side. Sorry to hear that. 😁
@@MJADoingStuff I'll make another one. I am a machinist.
I'm surprised you even could steer without bucket..
Yeah it is border line I need to widen the trail so I can keep my bucket on. Thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
I was told to never wear gloves when feeding a chipper.. easy for the glove to get caught on a branch and get your hand pulled into the chipper.. be safe ‼️
Thanks David I am glad you told us 😁👍first time we ever heard of that. That makes sense. Thanks for checking out the video 🚜💨🍳
@@MJADoingStuff No problem.. same goes for loose clothing.. there’s no forgiveness when it comes to machinery.
Should've adjusted the hitch to go higher
I was trying to keep the weight down low hard to tell but it was leaning pretty good. Thanks for watching 😁👍🚜💨🍳
That looked not a whole lot of fun Mitch
Yeah Gary I was a little stressed out thought it was going over at one point. Glad it all worked out in the end. 😂Thanks for checking out the video 😁👍🚜💨🍳
I don't see a "fail" of the WC68
I guess you are right🤷🏻♂️
