The 2015 draft was brutal. Apparently the Bruins were trying to package those picks to trade up in the draft and get Noah Hanging and when that didn't work it was almost like they were picking blind

They were still working off chiarellis lists, also 2015 was a good draft for bruins, got carlo, Lauzon and vladar.

Your post makes absolutely zero sense. You just seemed to suggest that Boston only scouted Hanifin, and no other players despite the fact that they have a draft list for seven full rounds and detailed scouting reports on literally hundreds of players. Also, every 1st rounder is considered a chance to draft a star so teams generally don't package them up together to trade. You would do a first and a second or third rounder to move up. Basically, everything in your statement was wrong including listing 2015 as a brutal draft.
@@Statsy10 the issue with this draft is Sweeney took over less than a month before draft and still had a lot of the chiarelli lists. There's also a huge gap between a draft that could've been an all time draft but wasn't and a bad draft. But GM's would take a top 6 forward, 2 regular defensemen and a goalie in 1 draft.
And now DeBrusk is a Canuck.....
The bruins should have fired their entire scouting staff after this draft
They also traded away their 5th round pick to Minnesota and Minnesota used that pick to draft some guy named Kirill Kaprizov 😮
@@logan9758 yeah that's not their fault, no 5th rounder is picked because they think he'll be a star or else they wouldn't wait until the 5th round. 5th rounders who becomes stars are due to being late bloomers not scouts brilliance.

Drafting a non existent player as a protest for how many rounds there were.
They also traded off the pick that became Kirill Kaprizov at the draft table for a future pick. 2015 Draft was a nightmare for the Bruins.
As a B’s fan, that video hurt. Although they’ve drafted well at times, you could probably make a dozen of these videos.
The fact that the bruins have continued to be one of the best teams in the NHL since then , is a fucking miracle

@@Axeom Rangers recently - well like 2 years ago - fired all their European scouts, too many busts from over there, but it also took a GM change.
@@HDreamer Bruins fans have been calling for Sweeney to hang up his skates for years. Then he'll make a solid trade at the deadline and the whispers will die down. Prob is he and Cam Neeley were both legendary Bruins players. There's a lot of respect there from fans - it's not a usual situation.

Debrusk was a semi successful pick but I remember Zach Senyshyn was projected to be late in the draft but somehow Sweenious drafted him at 15. It was the such a stupid decisionbruins fans were scratching their heads at the time. Zaboril was just insane how he thought that was a good choice. Every Bruins fan is regretful about that draft and since then are always nervous about Sweeney’s decision making skills

My team golden knight traded one of are good players smith for 1st round pick and it didn’t help in the 2024 playoffs
i hate when people do this you dont know how players are going to develop with certain teams if senyshen went to a different team he could’ve been a star if barzal went to a different team he could’ve been a bust. redrafts and so called fumbles are stupid yes it sucks senyshen and zboril were never good but it all depends on how you develop
when you are around the 15 pick in the first round, you are not a project. you should have nhl ready or near ready skills. if a guy is a bust, it is more likely it was bad scouting.

A little early to call their picks busts as they are all still in their 20's and could be late bloomers that reach their primer and/or roles for their team later on in their career like so many super stars have- I can think of 3 Boston greats that were considered busts until they became stars later on in their career, and many more around the league!
