On a road trip with friends, I booked the clown motel. My husband asked, "This is a dive, why did you bring us here." Either you get it, or you don't. I loved it and got a vid out of it. Silly man wanted to stay at the Mizpa, Nope. CLOWN MOTEL, Boo Yah!
Mizpah is haunted too
I live in Nevada and as a history enthusiast I have been to Tonopah and Goldfield many times for the mining history. That area also has some of the best star-gazing in the state....in the country for that matter. Anyway, I've stayed at the Clown Motel a couple times and the Mitzpah once. I found the Mizpah Hotel to be overpriced and it had a funky smell, so I always stay at the Clown Motel when I'm in town for giggles. The new owner is very friendly and accommodating, and always remembers me when I come by.
Personally, I don't believe in the paranormal and clowns don't faze me. I have stayed in the supposedly most active demonic room of the motel and didn't sense anything. Power of suggestion doesn't work on me. The only thing that creeped me out while staying at the motel, was a group of people dressed up in costumes holding candles and chanting in the parking lot at 2am - like they were doing some kind of ritual. As they say....it's not the dead that are scary, it's the living.
As for the cemetery next door, again as a history nerd, I find historical old cemeteries fascinating. While strolling through the cemetery, I ran into the historical society president who is working to restore the cemetery by finding "unmarked" graves, researching whose buried there, and then mark the grave giving the resting individual an identity again. He gave me a personal tour of the cemetery and we chatted for nearly 2 hours. There is nothing scary about that quaint cemetery filled with hardworking men, women and children. It's a shame it's being exploited as the most haunted evil cemetery in the country. Its actually insulting to the people that are laid to rest there and their living descendants that still visit their relatives. Every night, there is always a group of people out there calling on the devil and the spirits. Leave the cemetery alone an show some respect.
Anyway, Tonopah and nearby Goldfield are neat towns and have more to offer then just "ghosts."

Always love the roads of America and discovering, finding, and enjoying the quirky and fun places on the way! I am 58 years old and greatly remember my family's long 3 week road trips all around the country....your videos have been at many of the places that we went in the mid 70s to the late 80s! Great memories and great motivation to revisit these amazing trips when I retire in 4 years!!! Thank you Justin and crew!!!!

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare had a map called "Sideshow" that was a homage recreation of The Clown Motel. It was one of my favorite maps when I used to play that game on Xbox. It was just as creepy!🤡👻

I've been to the Clown Motel a couple of times but never stayed. Tonopah is a creepy town but Goldfield and it's world famous haunted hotel down the road a way is much more creepy.
I drove fron Tonopah to vegas during odd hours of the am. I was the only car for 200 miles😮👽 👻

That Goldfield hotel isn't haunted. The locals made it up to draw tourists and Ghost Adventures ran with it. Alot of the paranormal stories are so historically inaccurate to the point of being ridiculous. Unfortunately, tourists aren't interested in mining history, so the town has no choice but to bank on the paranormal for tourism. I live 20 minutes from Virginia City, NV and it's the same way there....worse actually, they've turn that place into a paranormal circus.
