  • Can a mechnical engineer, microbiologist, bcom graduate (basically non computer science background person) transition his/her career to data science? If yes, how? In this video I am going to answer these exact questions and will show you how a person with different background can transition to different roles in data science field such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer or BI analyst. Data science and analytics field has opened up many job opportunities and they are going to grow even more in coming years. Due to this many people with non technical background want to switch to data science. This transition requires lot of hard work but it is certainly doable. I've two videos that you can follow for acquiring skills for data analyst and a data scientist.

I consider myself a Level 1 person, but the data scientist pathway looks daunting. I've taken calculus and stats but those course were what I consider "watered-down" for life science students (those studying biochemistry, molecular biology). Nowhere near the level of rigidity/difficulty in a pure technical field like engineering, physics and math. It's a huge mountain to climb. Would you recommend the data analyst path to start with? And what is a curriculum you'd recommend for the data analyst pathway?

I need to make a career change. All I’ve ever had are customer service positions. I need a more professional career. I have an associates degree but not a bachelors. I am skeptical to do a DA Bootcamp because I don’t think I will get a job JUST with a certification and no BA degree.

This is an eye opener video! Thanks for posting this!! I am software QA analyst, having 7 yrs of exp, mostly in manual. I would like to switch to Data analyst/scientist role.I have started learning python. My question was, is it risky to switch a career after 7 yrs of exp to data analyst/scientist from QA?

I am a B.Sc(Agriculture) student and it's my last semester. I am actually not happy with my degree so i started learning python and wanna switch my career to software field, there is a slight problem - I have almost everywhere but my degree is not elligible for any IT based company. What should I do ? Do I have to pursue something related to computer science to apply to those companies?

Hey Vijay looks like you have been working in your field for 14 years now, you need to think why exactly you want to switch. Switching is not a bad idea but see if you can do better in your field only , may be do MBA and move to management position (if you have interest). Also of you decide to switch and if you don't know programming, statistics etc being data scientist will be difficult and long journey. I would suggest data analyst role for you, you can become data scientist if you are exceptional and willing to put lot of hard work. Nothing is impossible 🤓 also one factor to consider is when you start your job as data analyst you will start as a junior and with less salary, you already have vast experience in your field and with that you might be earning much more then a junior data analyst. So ask yourself if you are ready to take a cut in your paycheck. Overall gather sufficient information, talk to someone who is a data scientist or data analyst (you can connect with these people on linked in of you don't have anyone in your friend circle) and than make an informed decision. Wish you all the best b👍😊

Hi firstly it seems no further good opportunity, growth and thrills in my current field moving forward.
However I understand switching to some different field after so long period of experience seems not worth.
But still I want to switch my career.
So firstly i will start my fresh career in data analysis and learn python language etc simentensously and jump into data science if feels all good and enjoyable.
      Pls advise.
