    I got the sissy bar just to put a bag on it. I also got a luggage rack for the same reason. I gotta admit that I prefer the look without the bar or rack but I can’t carry anything without them unless I got some saddle bags and I don’t want saddle bags! Too old man bike for me! Even though I’m 52!?

    Just installed the same slip ons on my 883. Did you end up using the stock clamps. I seem to have an exhaust leak coming from both pipes so just wondering if that’s normal or not as I have nothing to compare it to.

    I've heard the slip-ons are a little quieter when idling, but as loud as the shortshots when accelerating... is that accurate?

      there is a better way to make them, what he did looks cheap to me, with the ugly chrome nut on the top...
      I bought a mirror extension for a dyna (those fit the sportsters), and on top of extending the mirrors for a better clearance of the throttle cables, they came with spiked nuts which make it look way cleaner. cost me 20$ off amazon.
      I also did the sissybar (bought the same from harley) but added a little fender rack so I can tie a bag to the sissybar and not scratched up the fender.
      Got the V&H slash cut slip ons also, I prefer slip ons just because it takes 10min to go back to oem when needed.
      Added a screaming eagle extreme billet high performance air filter to make her breath better and add some performance to all the rpm range
      Installed an FP4, makes a bug difference in power/ridability... And you don't have a choice to have a tuner if you add an high performance air filter 🙄
      Then bought 2 swaybar bags (one on each side) and a tool bag for the sissy bar when my travel bag isn't on there. (use it to carry a bottle of water so I can stop anywhere and catch a quick drink.
      I changed the very basic speedo with the analog tach with digital speedo from harley and got the gas level sensor. I now have a fully working speedo with proper gas level, time, gear, rpm, speed and km/miles to empty...
      Also did the forward controls, makes the bikes 10 times as confortable and got some extensions for the handlebar mounts for an additionnal 2" in height but kept the oem handlebars. they are now very comfortable and at a perfect height/distance for me
      I just ordered a headlight cowl/fairing (cafe fairing) and will install that in a couple days.
      She's coming along great and looks badass now. When I get tired of the power (which is honestly quite enough for 95% of the time), I will install a 1250 hooligan kit 😎

    Did the pipes help slow the bike down and give a little more power?

    • @SINasTER75
      @SINasTER75 Před rokem

      If you get 1-2hp and 1-2ft/lbs more with just the pipes you’re lucky. For more hp, you need a tune. Either a piggyback like the FP3, FP4 or a dynojet or better yet, have a pro tune it on a dyno.
      Of course, you won’t get much more out of a tune if you don’t do at least a stage 1 upgrade (pipes and high flow/performance air filter)
      A stage 1 is a must on the 883, really opens up the mid to top end of the rpm.
