    Great video! Not a lot of sellers willing to truly show their product vs the competition!

    Did you ever find out what was rattling in that one dual lens light ? You said it's a generic copy of a higher quality light.
    I've got that same style with a rattle inside. I'm not sure if it's the clone or not. How can I tell?
    Thanks.

    If you have a stock housing, can you put an led bulb in it to compare against the lumen full replacement? I understand there are some complications with an led bulb beam pattern but this seems in line with the price and comparisons made in this video

    Compare the competition. JNS sold as a complete kit $119-$139 bracket and all. Visually looks like the dual beam in your video but patterns are closer to the light you use and maybe a little brighter. Hard to tell in a video without the comparison you did.
    Great job on your video though. Thanks.

      Hi, thanks for your comment! As stated in the video I sell a complete kit which includes the bracket and hardware. There is an instructional video for install on my channel as well. I also sell the bracket separately for folks looking for a different option.

    U can only use the to replace if your house i g for the light allows this to fit. After 88 although they are 4x6 as well does not fit even though 89-91 are the same body style speaking on Chevy trucks.

    Did you have to do custom wiring to get the low beam to stay on with the high beam?
    Also, is the bracket you sell compatible with the DR650?
    Great vid also, gotta love a good product comparison. Glad I saw this before trying out one of the cheap $30 ones all over Amazon/eBay, never would have guessed there was such a difference. I don’t ride at night much so I’ve been ok with the halogen headlight, but I might try out LEDs someday. If only the drop in LED H4 bulbs could manage a good beam pattern that would be the most elegant solution, cheap, easy, and backwards compatible. As it is though the 4x6 housing LED headlights do seem to be king for us with classic square headlight dual sports.

    • @fordsfabrications
      @fordsfabrications  Před 2 lety +1

      No custom wiring- all the lights in the video plug in and work as shown. Some of the lights have halo led rings, these require additional wiring to turn on.
      I believe the bracket does work with the DR650.

    I guess I mounted my kit from you upside down because my bright setting throws a beam at the bottom.

    • @fordsfabrications
      @fordsfabrications  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Charles, yeah, it’s easy to install upside down. The light is symmetric in appearance and the bracket will bolt in upside down- just flip the light and you should be good to go! Once the light is the right way around it should also provide a much better beam pattern and be easier to get aimed properly as well.

      Yeah, for brevity’s sake I didn’t set it up both ways. I mounted it upside down to show how bad the scattered light is above the cutoff, and explained doing so in the video. Thanks for your feedback!

  • @leyvaaguirrejesusfernando2274

    Generic multi lens projector is upside down Bro

    • @fordsfabrications
      @fordsfabrications  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes- listen to narration- upside down to show how horrible the cut-off is and how much light is scattered above the cutoff. The lenses are of poor quality- and scatter light above the cutoff.

  • @garageexperimental1832

    None of those lights are DOT "approved." The DOT doesn't approve light designs nor even review them before they go to market. The DOT publishes requirements that lighting manufacturers have to comply with, but it is up to the manufacturers to make a light that truly is compliant. By claiming that it is compliant, they become open to litigation like class-action lawsuits if the light turns out to be non-compliant. Molding "DOT SAE" into the lens doesn't make the light compliant. The Chinese makers of those lights can claim whatever they want because you'll never be able to sue them.

    • @fordsfabrications
      @fordsfabrications  Před rokem

      You’re correct, there are no headlights sold which are “DOT approved”, but this is a colloquial term commonly used which means the lights carry a DOT marking, meaning the manufacturer claims they are designed to meet the standards defined by the DOT. But no evaluation was done by the DOT on any of these lights, or any aftermarket lights to obtain the DOT marking. The phrase “DOT approved” is commonly used when discussing headlights - because it’s clear that some lights don’t even try to pretend - and for good reason. They’re monster spot lights and terribly irresponsible to use on the road.
      I will address this confusion in my next comparison video.
      The video clearly shows you the important parts of the light pattern and relative brightness- I hope it has helped people make their choice when looking for an aftermarket LED headlight to use on the road .
      Thanks for your comment!
