I think Scott is amazing...as are all of them. But glad you guys gave him such recognition...his voice is phenomenal
This is also a performance where he shows the most restraint, and it really emphasizes out the natural strength of his voice (and don't get me wrong: I LOVE his riffs).

Your reactions to Pentatonix songs are exactly what Pentaholics expect from any reactor. Pentatonix is the premiere a cappella band. While truly making each cover their own by incorporating their unique style, they proceed to surpass the original even as they keep the distinct integrity of that original. From the arrangement to the harmonies to the video presentation to the demeanor of each individual, they best all other a cappella groups. In my opinion, no other a cappella group is capable of producing a cover that can actually rival Pentatonix.

Everyone knows that Mitch is talented and his voice is superb, but your reaction, screen shake and replay of his resounding vibrato and runs was fantastic!! Thank you!! On the recent tour I saw a few fan videos of the performance and he added in even more runs, vibratos and flourishes. This is a beautiful video. Beautiful rendition of this song - The Prayer. Giving a message of hope for us all. Pentatonix never disappoints. All five of them are masters of their craft - individually and collectively. For this song there was skillful and perfect placing of each member in the arrangement. Mitch at the start and throughout owned this song with conviction, vocal clarity, the notes he hits and holds, his runs, his vibratos, his timing and his precision. Scott with his operatic presentation strong and convincing in linguistic detail and riffing at the end. Kirstin with her belting power notes. Matt on the consistent bass undertone. Kevin on the strong and well-timed vocal percussion. The rich vocals, the tones, the call and response, the layering, the harmonizing, the wall of sound, building to the crescendo and then the clarity piercing through again with Mitch. Superb performance by Pentatonix. A capella at its very best. They deserve a few Grammys for this.

I can suggest a workaround for you. Find a third-party that's not familiar with PTX. That changes your reaction to reacting to them seeing PTX for the first time doing their thing.

This has nothing to do with Pentatonix but if you like the song When you believe, you should check out the Ambassadors of harmony and the Vocal majority along with two other quartets. They do a beautiful rendition of When you Believe that I think will blow you away. It’s a lot different than anything you have ever listened to but I believe you might really like . You probably haven’t listen ed to any barbershop choruses or quartets so this might be a first for you. I would love it if you would check it out.
