OOf, not the MK5 GTI... besides its image problems (in Germany) they have problems with the timing chain and consumption/leaking of engine oil
Bro sc 300/400 averaging like 7-10k out here in socal and that's with like 200k on the odometer 😂
Facts
Very true
Very true
True, I got my sc400 at 300k on the odometer with main ecu issues for 4k lol, other than that, it's a smooth daily.
I’m sorry to hear that cali prices are ridiculous
Damn what a surprise, I was telling you your channel will blow up in like 2021-2022 when you had 3-4k subs and now you're almost at 80k proud of you!
Tysm man that’s awesome to hear
@@markroden golf gti's are awesome the one thing i have to say is they burn oil other than that turbo 4cyl hatch back a great addition to the list one of my favorite cars but if you want something a little quicker and lighter the mini cooper s is a great choice too
You cannot find a sc400 under 3k…( if it’s beat to shit like a project car that has problems then yeah)
There’s one for 1.3k in my area, I live in Dallas though. It needs some work but you can definitely find them
After this video not anymore lol
I have seen them on Facebook for 5 and below all day
I see them all the time, almost bought one actually for $1.2k
yeah you can
Thank goodness you included the Toyota solara on here 🙏. I own one at 16, and it’s so cool for the price. Comes with a v6, 5 seater coupe, convertible option, and it’s basically a Camry which makes this car super fun and reliable. These cars deserve much more love for what they are.
How much you pay for it?
been subbed sense 800 subs and man u blew up well deserved dude 100k im no time
We need more vids where you drive man
He should walk
Facts
Mannn i been waiting for you to post the gs for a minute 😂i feel like the LS and the SC always get all the love. I personally own a GS400 and im just here to say if y’all plan on getting a second gen GS go for the 400 or 430.
Ofc bro they’re great
FINALLY SOME LOVE TO THE TOYOTA SOLARA🎉🎉 (this does bring a smile to my face)
Holy shit anotha vid so soon brotha? your on the grind my mans keep it up 💯 banger as always
Ofc bro and tysm
Keep up the great content
I’ll try my best bro
Another amazing list video from Marcus rodent
Ty bro lol
I had an integra and gs300. Outside of the rear main seal on the lexus and the engine harness corroding it was a great car and i did get it for 3k. Coldest ac I’ve ever been in new and old cars. Teggy was amazing i beat it on it every day and still had better mpg then my mom(stay at home wife) and i went to school work and meets
A Ford Fusion (EU model). Bought a beat up one for £500. It's bullet proof. Not a sexy car but damn thing is surprisingly practical, load capacity is amazing for a small car. It's underrated. Most useful car I've owned.
Those are good ngl
That Solara does look pretty. Never really looked at a nice one before, I kinda like it.
Best way to fix Subaru headgaskets is to replace them with STI headgaskets in the NA engine
Smart move
as someone who has a 2012 Volvo S60 (considered the worse year) with over 140K miles, they are crazy reliable and are turbocharged and really cheap in general.
this shit came in my feed when i needed it you are my hero
Road to 100k🥳
Yessirrrr
The red bull in the Volvo 240 engine bay LOL. OH MY GOSH, you mentioned the Toyota Solara! Tears came to my eyes as I celebrated with joy and gladness (not really but still excited cuz nobody talks about this car). THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I don't even care that you included the A4 and GTI in the video (plus they looked older, especially the A4, so they will be more reliable than new German cars). They can also be reliable if well maintained, but a lot of people just don't maintain them properly and they suffer as a result. If you don't maintain a Camry or Civic on the other hand, it tends to be pretty forgiving. BTW, I've seen that build video of the Solara on CZcams before, and knew you would use it because nobody builds this car. If you want to have some variety for future features of the Solara, I can send you a video of my Solara (even an exhaust clip if you want). It's got some nice mods to it. Also, thank you for saying the 5th gen Camry looks cool, because the Solara is literally the sports coupe offering of that. You might as well have mentioned the ES 330 and had done with it. All three of these cars were very reliable and had similar performance. They also all looked pretty similar in the face. The Solara is of course the best-looking as a sleek sporty coupe offering, and is very similar to the Acura TL in terms of what it is, though more fun and sporty as a coupe and convertible. They have similar straight-line performance, are both sporty looking, have plenty of space, and are very reliable as well as luxurious. Again, thanks for featuring the Solara. I mainly just want to get a second opinion on it and have people recognize it. Let me know if you need any info. I GOT YOU!
Good bad and ugly on Solara 2nd gen PLEASE! I understand if you don't want to because you're not much of a Camry guy, but this is the one Camry you can buy cheap that's actually really cool. It also has an interesting history as Toyota's last name-brand genuine sports car attempt that suffered from an identity crisis, and had to compete with the Camry SE, ES 330, Celica GTS, MR2 Spyder, and Avalon. The entire Solara only lasted nine years, but there weren't any major problems with the car.
@@ethangrimborne8427 bro you know so much somehow, I’ll def look into them more bc they do seem kinda interesting now
You should do some more cheap awd cars because I’m struggling to find one I like
Man the SC400/SC300 is so cool, I’d totally cop one as a daily if the MPG wasn’t so abysmal
Need a vid about best first manuals to own/ drive
Sounds good bro
mr mark what are your thoughts on the honda ek, im thinking about buyinh one but in australia theyre kinda expensive is it worth it? (from 8-15k aud for one that isnt the best condition)
My first real car was a 2000 Camry-Solara and it was incredible! 200 supercharged engine that can beat a mustang off the line. BTW, Cole Swindell, country fan here, awesome music!
Can you do a list on cheap old school domestic cars?
i commonly find the SC400, SC300, GS300, LS400 all above the 10,000$ price in utah where i live, even the ones with over 300000 miles. even integras are over 6000$ most of the time
Another W from Mark Roden
W comment from Thomas
You should do a good, bad, and ugly on the Mazdaspeed 3
3L40 - As the former owner a few Mk5 and Mk6 Golfs and GTIs, I would say that the Golf is FAR more reliable than the GTI, and significantly more fuel efficient. While neither requires premium fuel, you won't get the maximum performance out of the GTI without it. Also, the GTI has a few mechanical faults to look out for that may cause CATASTROPHIC damage to the engine, including a crappy, weak, faulty timing chain guide. If this fails, it will destroy the valves on the car. Make sure that this has been replaced either by a recall or by a Volkswagen dealership. The other major critical component that may fail leading to expensive engine damage is the water pump. Both problems were fairly common in GTIs from 2008 (I think) to 2012. By 2013 and 2014 these problems mostly disappeared. I don't believe the Golf / Rabbit's 2.5L inline 5 cylinder has any serious issues. I never encounter any engine problems with either the Mk5 (Rabbit) or Mk6 Golf.
6:30 - The reason someone might rather get an SC300 over the SC400 isn't just because the SC300 might come with a manual transmission. It's the 3.0L STRAIGHT SIX engine. I believe it is the exact same engine found in the Gen 4 Supra. It is NOT turbocharged, but it is very overbuilt and more reliable than the Toyota 4.7L V8, which is an interference engine.
8:20 - The Toyota Solara is essentially a two-door Camry. Same engine choices, same transmission. The Camry coupe disappeared in the mid 90s and the Solara came onto the scene as a convertible.
You should do trucks again mark and lowkey even though I know you explained why you didn’t I feel like you adding the hp would’ve been nice cause it’s a mark thing yk
Picked up myslef a 2001 v70 for 1.5k a month ago such a steal
Been looking for an sc 400 for so long but on fb u can find one for like 10K with 200K miles on it and if looking into those secondary car dealerships it’s like 35K for one with 60K miles or less 😭😭😭😭 I hate California so much, I rlly needa move
@markroden im a fan been there since 5k subs congrats on 81k im looking for a first car ive been wondering where you look to see those types of prices ?
i bought a 98 toyota avalon and I found it real hard to find people talk about it online, just wanted what you opinion on them would be? it a V6, very reliable, great styling imo for the 98 and 99, and you cant go wrong with toyota leather interiors. kind of a baby LS400, yeah they are FWD but so are so many tuner cars in its price range
If you had a playlist I'd listen to it
Haha thanks man
Heads carolina is actually a hellla good song too💪
Im almost 16 and am really into 90s and 2000s jdm and am really liking the Mitsubishi Eclipse but im not sure if i should get it because im not sure if its reliable, and i dont know to work on cars if it were to break down. Any tips on if i should get an eclipse or a different car?
Can you do the best daily drivers for 20k and under from 2018 to 2023?
Or under 15k lol
I wish the civic 8th gen coupe was available in europe. When I was younger, my first dream car was a Ford Ka RBT (I used to call it fish car because I thought it looked like fish) and my second dream car was the civic 8th gen pre-facelift. This car gave young me a Honda phase. 😂 Nowadays I don‘t think anymore that it looks that amazing, but I still really like it.
2 of my family members own the gti mk5...its cheap speed and boy that car is strong
I got a question, I've seen some cheap Tiburon GT that obviously need some work if bought, but was wondering if it is a reliable car, I have heard people say positive and also negative things about this car. Especially about Engine power and rust issues. Any thoughts?
I’ve owned one and it was not very reliable. The transmission gave me issues
@@Cranberry__man Thank you
Bro the 8th gen civic. 99 civic in my opinion is the best and most reliable car I have ever since. I've seen civics with 409k Miles. Also a 01 Buick century.. but great video
All civics are great tbh
Can you please tell me where the heck you get all these prices? I search on google for prices and its at least 25% more than what you advertise is
Especially Honda civic 8th gen, please drop a link to a site where i can actually find one for 3k
song of the day should be a regular thing :)
Honda Civic 8th gen squad! fire 🔥
I wish it was that cheap😭 i bet from were your from it is but it sucks va prices are raising hellllla recently
5:38 bro wants to fly the car with redbull☠
Lmaooo
🤣
The Acura TL is a solid car!
I think one car that doesn’t get talked about enough for reliability is the Infiniti g20. No one ever thinks about it and it’s just an all around good car for the price
So true tbh
Everyone has love for an Infinity.
the b5s are so hot nice to see them getting some love
Cool!
Im thinking the best reliable firs car ever is the jeep cherokee xj. If you get the straight 6 its bulletproof, you got 4wd and theyll be under 3k
have you forgot about the Chevrolet impala,Ford focus SE,Dodge intrepid,Chevrolet Malibu max,Pontiac vibe,Ford mustang base model, yes most of the cars are fwd but have snappy v6s and fast as there sporty models that people tend to buy more of that it has a v8 and makes loud sounds, but you can buy these cars for dirt cheap and modify with ease but you'll get crappy in tearier but i learnd that v6 base model sport cars can be powerful like the v8 sporty versons if you add turbos.
Are there any generations of Honda Civics to avoid?
What's your opinion on lexus IS 200
Where u find them for 3k?!? They usually cost around 5-11k in my area
where in america can you find ANYTGING in under 3k on reliable wiring condition
W video
i been want a forester to carry the dudes around and look sick
Honda Fit/Jazz fo life
thoughts on the Honda Fit?
W car tbh
Here in NY I'm not seeing any sc400 for anywhere near 3K
that twd reference got me dead
Lmaooo
Might want to check up on those prices 😬
When you see the car can you please see if it’s automatic or manual next time
Where are you finding these cars?
The name of the website that see the cars from?
love the most reliable list but i still wanna know the engine and how much Litres and what not
Ok I’ll do that next time my bad
The Sixth Gen Accord 1998-2002 should have been at the top of that list too! My 99 Ex 5 Speed has over 400k and still looks /runs like new. If you’re gonna buy one buy a Manual one tho, the autos were problematic! Also the 4th 90-93 and 5th Gen 94-97 accord should be on the list as well! Not Jetta/Audi/Colorado/S60
Hey Mark, if your stomach issue is persistent do get it checked out by specialists if you're not already doing it
Edit: Fixed incorrect sentence order
I have been bro but thank you man
nice
Ty man
Bro said you can’t find a manual sc300 for 3k lol almost 7 years ago I found one but my lady slammed it into a tractor trailer when she was new to the clutch
I had a S60 it had a bad trans and a lot of S60’s have transmission problems 100%

hey not to sound like a hater and all but these are mostly just cars with either super high milage or in horrbile shape and when i look alot of them up like the 1998 lexus sc400 is in the 40,000+ dollars
Haha
