I know that you're hiding things
Using gentle words to shelter me
Your words were like a dream
But dreams could never fool me
    Not that easily
    I acted so distant then
Didn't say goodbye before you left
    But I was listening
You'll fight your battles far from me
    Far too easily
"Save your tears 'cause I'll come back"
I could hear that you whispered
as you walked through that door
But still I swore to hide the
pain when I turn back the pages
Shouting might have been the answer
What if I'd cried my eyes out
and begged you not to depart?
But now I'm not afraid to
    say what's in my heart
    Though a thousand words
    Have never been spoken
    They'll fly to you
    Crossing over the time
    and distance holding you
    Suspended on silver wings
    And a thousand words
    One thousand confessions
    Will cradle you
    Making all of the pain
    you feel seem far away
    They'll hold you forever
    The dream isn't over yet
Though I often say I can forget
    I still relive that day
You've been there with me all the way
    I still hear you say
"Wait for me, Ill write you letters"
I could see how you stammered
with your eyes to the floor
But still I swore to hide the
doubt when I turn back the pages
Anger might have been the answer
What if I'd hung my head and
    said that I couldn't wait?
    But now I'm strong enough
to know it's not too late
    'Cause a thousand words
    Call out through the ages
    They'll fly to you
    Even though I can't see, I
    know they're reaching you
    Suspended on silver wings
    Oh, a thousand words
    One thousand embraces
    Will cradle you
    Making all of your weary
    days seem far away
    They'll hold you forever

This Piano version of 1000/a Thousand Words that I’ve heard in both the title screen menu of FFX-2 as well as in the end credits (if I remember having heard this version play in that direct FFX Sequel’s end credits too, that is?) always made me tear up when I got to play it at my friend’s house on his PS2 console, back in my middle school years, especially when I got myself the Final Fantasy X/X-2 collection for my PSVITA, although I still haven’t made time to beat Final Fantasy X-1 in general since that game is still difficult as hell when I’m on the late middle act where I had to fight Yuna’s distant ancestor or 1st predecessor which I still haven’t been able to beat at all, due to the 3 or 5 more stage transformations that I still haven’t been able to beat all of course, but at least I was able to beat Final Fantasy X-2 on PSVITA since FFX’s direct sequel was incredibly easy, but fast paced and fun to play through of course.
Two decades later and the piano version of that song still makes me tear up sadly to emotionally self reflect the best pastimes that I’ll always miss having with my family and friends that we used to enjoy doing back then, as I still do now, and after almost 19 years since FFX-2’s initial Japanese release on March 13th 2003, as of January 6th 2022 of this comment, the piano version of this song still makes me feel very emotional and very self reflective about the youthful and young adult years of my childhood to 20’s then as I now reflect on them in my 30’s these days as of 1-6-2022 of course, every time I listen to the Piano version of 1000 words on emotional, sentimental, and self reflecting occasions.
The Piano version of this song has made me self reflect on the things that my family tree and I had lost around these past recent years, like how my late grandpa had died on January 2019 about a month before my childhood mall: the Westside Pavilion Shopping Mall had closed down on February of that same year after my grandpa passed away, our neighboring Souplantations had died financial wise on May 2020 where 2020 was the heaviest and most enduring year where the COVID-19 Pandemic had since begun around the beginning of this current decade, my surrogate grandma had shut down our family tree owned car wash in early 2021 after having lasted 61 years since my maternal great grandpa had started his small car wash in 1960, my 1st Aunt made her choice to leave her Recreational Park Manager occupation to retire at peace to be with her family which I’ll admit in hindsight, my 1st aunt’s choice doesn’t seem sad as I thought it was, since she wanted to be with her family and live her peaceful family life to the fullest anyway, I visited my Surrogate Grandma and my 2nd Aunt’s family at their small apartment, until I looked at my extended family tree’s small apartment almost 3 decades later and realized that my surrogate grandparent’s apartment looks almost a half ghost apartment these days.
Sigh… I know my 1st aunt’s family and my family and I may still live in our normal houses as regular homeowners after all these years since some of my current generation siblings and cousins and I were born back in the 90’s, but I do hope that the rest of my small family tree and my now middle aged millennial siblings and cousins, including my Gen Z cousins who’re now in their early 20’s as well as my two youngest cousins who we’re born in the late 2000’s are now in the early to almost mid teens these days etc are happily still living their lives to the fullest, despite what this pandemic is still putting me and my family tree’s current generations through today.
I still hope that anyone of my siblings starts a family to make me an uncle to my sibling’s kids as I also hope my closest current generation cousins start their own families to make me a surrogate uncle to my cousin’s kids one of these days or years etc.

The music the plays in the title screen isn't 1000 Words. It's Eternity: Memory of Lightwaves.

@@willw1991 Yes, 1000 words piano version plays during the X-2 perfect ending scene and I think also during credits, although the version I remember is different from this one here.

Gotta correct myself, it’s not 1000 words but Yuna‘s ballad playing there! For some reason I always confuse these two. But still, 100 words piano version with ingame is different from this one, that’s fact. Other yt uploads have the right one.
