      It's genius because it works with his persona and imagine how much money you can save every year by not having to look like a "celebrity". This is how you stay rich and how your kids stay rich. Wearing a $500-$2K outfit once is just wasteful.

    I think I've watched every will ferrell blooper and I still enjoy them til now because they're extremely funny, it's not easy to make people break character on set because it might ruin the sketch or the scene but will ferrell is so funny and so good at his his performance that it's very difficult to keep a straight, the things that come out of his mouth and the way he delivers his performance will make you explode in laughter, and you'll laugh hysterically until your stomach hurts, plus he's a great person
    There is something unique about will ferrell performing is that when he gets into character he becomes an entirely different person and stays in character for a very long time that even other comedic method actors like sacha baron for example can't pull it off

      I think its funny but some people say it gets old. To that I say, why do you watch SNL so much? That show hasn't been funny for years. They have their moments, but you basically gotta sit through an episode of mostly shit to get one or two good sketches. It baffles me that this show is still relevant.

    • @nixeleth
      @nixeleth Před 4 lety

      @@bucky90269 I've found that it depends on who's hosting, and who's breaking character/how they're breaking. Ryan Gosling, for instance, can't seem to get through a single actual live scene without cracking up, but it's still (usually) funny to see him try. In the current episodes, when a host and the cast just don't have any kind of chemistry or the show doesn't have any real material to work with, they throw in Kenan Thompson and/or Kate McKinnon and put all of the weight of the show on their shoulders to make it funny.
      When they do manage to get a host who actually knows about sketch comedy or at the very least improv, then the entire episode is good. Dave Chappelle's episode, for instance, was great from start to finish. The episodes are also usually pretty damn good when the show manages to bring in a recurring host, so long as they don't rely too much on said host's previous popularity.
      I generally watch the opening and a sketch or two, and if nothing's making me laugh, I stop watching the episode--SNL is kind of like a magazine or a newspaper, in that if the first couple of pages aren't grabbing your attention, it's unlikely you're going to find anything better later. And if it turns out there was a hidden gem toward the end, nowadays you can usually catch it online later anyway.

    The Gus Chiggins skit. That skit right there is the very reason why Will Ferrell is great. Not one of those soldiers can maintain a straight face or not crack into laughter. I remember the first time I saw it. He says to Tracy Morgan, "I think you need to learn some manners", I knew Tracy was going to lose it. It's his ability to not crack, or not break character, ever. And when the camera is on Kattan, Ferrell just keeps banging his pots and pans and you can see Kattan begin to lose it. The exchange between Fallon and Ferrell about the rendezvous point, Fallon can't even hold it together.
