I lost my fur baby Chesney, a little over a year and a half ago. Yes, his name was Chesney. Yes, he was named after Kenny Chesney. He was a 4lb Maltese. He was my best friend and my baby. I still wake up and expect to see him laying with me. The emptiness I feel when I realize he's not there is overwhelming some days. I'm so blessed to have had him for the 14 years that I did. What I wouldn't do for one more day... Kenny and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. As fur baby parents, we know the unconditional love our babies give. Losing it leaves a gaping hole. It's awesome that you are using your loss to help other Ruby's find their home of unconditional love!

What a wonderful way to celebrate Da Ruba Girl. I've heard the song but didn't know the whole story, but had an idea.
We lost our lab, a big boy who was gentle and sweet. My first dog. It broke my heart when he passed and still brings tears to my eyes when I think of him.
He had a brother (adopted) who is still with us, eight years between them. And we'll go through it all over again when he goes over the rainbow.
But we will continue to open our hearts to our furry family and give them the best of us.

Dogs, in general, are awesome. We have a black lab Nova. She has been with us for 11 yrs so far. She is treated just like one of our kids. She loves baths, swimming at the local lake or river, and loves people. She is special. I believe they are souls back to us to love and boy, do they love back!❤

Thank you for sharing this Kenny & Mary. It really shows the love from both you & the dogs. Our dog Ziggy loved basketballs too. We gave him a new one every Christmas & wrapped it like a giant piece of candy. We would video him tearing it open and then going crazy after it outside until he punctured a whole in it. It was his favorite toy. He passed at 11 yrs. 2 1/2 years ago. We have him buried in the front yard where he would sit everyday waiting for Dad to come home from work. We have a plaque w/ his picture, a cross and his last basketball on his grave.

I am a rescue volunteer in Mobile, AL and we love you down here but don't get upset if I say we love our recuses a little more. I know you don't mind. Thank the good Lord above for people like you with a voice to speak for these babies and enough people to listen. We all know our lost ones are waiting up there for us and Ruby is right there among them.

I watched this video 2 days after it came out, and somehow I didn't realize that da riba girl (ruby) had passed away. I lost my furbaby last year, she was 15 years old, she got liver and kidney cancer and it progressed very quickly and it was so hard losing her after having so many amazing years with her. Pitbulls are the most amazing breeds as well they are very protective of their family. I'm so sorry for your loss Kenny, Mary and Poncho, especially right before Christmas. She will always be watching over you and loving you from beyond. Rip Da Ruba Girl.

I watched the video to the point where DA Ruba Girl came on and the tears fell. It is a beautiful tribute to a wonderful girl. My Rocky, passed in May. He was a pit mix, I loved him for the 4 and a half years he was on Earth. Through ear hematomas, food allergies, food obsession and finally, disc disease. Losing him was something that will hurt me forever. He was the bestest boy! Thank you for sharing Ruby's story! Bless you all! 💜

I picked up my Blue Healer Boy 7 years ago, decided to name him Lefty after Frizell, had a name tag made before I picked him up at a DQ parking lot. Turns out his Left ear never would raise. So Lefty was Perfect, but Pancho and Lefty was another factor. Then four years later we went to rescue another little girl pup . Last of a litter hiding under a bench… Scared… named her Ruby Ann after the Marty Robbin’s song. My wife started calling her Da Ruba Girl after about six months. Then last year when I heard Da Ruba Girl I just couldn’t believe it. Love the song. Love my Ruba girl. She’s my favorite thing in the world. ❤

My favourite dog was called Blackie. A sweet, sassy, smart terrior mix. Never met another dog like him. Miss him still to this day. Hope he is waiting for me on the other side. What a beautiful tribute to "Da Ruba Girl" I pray this song will help many helpless Pitbull's along with other dogs in the shelters. They are the best dogs! I had a pit boxer mix as well and lost him 1.5 years ago, he touched my heart so deep. I still have my "Heidi Girl" (American Staffordshire Terrier) and she is a hot mess :) I could not imagine my life without my four legged babies. They show us what unconditional love really is!!!
