Keep your channel name as gundog and fly tying as a memory to all the dogs you had and its what you are best known as keep up the excellent work good luck for the future from Scotland
George, we all do GAS…..I have more fly rods than I need; I have more flies than I need: I have more microscopes than I need. You are so right George. However, I love buying fly rods !!! Your videos keep us all good. We all love them. Fed up with BBC news on war. No, let’s talk George and fly fishing, that’s the way forward my friends…..Happy Days.
Hi George, I missed this video for some reason. Totally understand the situation with the hunting, the clearing of ditch’s is a real problem and done for all the wrong reasons. Gundog & Fly is more of an identity at this stage and the gundog videos are up there for all to enjoy. I don’t think you need to change the name. Keep up the good work. Bail ó dhia ar an obair, agus go raibh maith agat.
I wish I had watched this video BEFORE I started fly tying. I would have found a place to setup and leave my equipment, yeah I had to figure this out the hard way, and I would have likely saved a few dollars on not buying what wasn't needed. Your video should be an introductory class, very useful information as always!
Never change Sir. Thank you as always for the great content - I learn something new every time I watch your videos. Thank you for reminding me to be grateful for our public lands here in America. We are truly blessed and need to be engaged in protecting and caring for our rivers and forests. Sláinte.
Keep the channel name George ...it's who you are ...your practical experience in fly fishing + tying is invaluable (so more of that content please centered around the materials + patterns of small flies you tie/fish with regularly)...and keep sharing your tips from years of live experience with folks new to hunting/shooting/gun dog training etc ..again, your practical experience is invaluable
George, looking forward to the new channel and the content you provide for the channel. I enjoy the information you've always given to enhance the experience on the water!
A subtle change could be The Gundog Fly? a wee nod to your heritage, and keeps the name - almost. Keep doing what you do George, I love your videos sir.
I have been tying for a little over a year and even though I already have a handle on a lot of what you covered it was still very useful and confirmed a lot of the things I am still learning. So thank you. Oh and ... Don't change the name!
Keep the name, it’s you and how you’re known. You’re on a new endeavour, change of tack, but the presenter is who we know. Good luck with the channel going forward. 👍
Don't change the name.Don't change the name.Don't change the name.Don't change the name. Like another guy said below, it is the name of your channel and how people have come to know and love what you do. Don't change the name. Don't change the name. Don't change the name. Oh and did I mention ...Don't change the name.!!!!!
Well George, Best of luck with the new channel, it's sad about the shooting side of things but it's just reality of what's going on, you probably seen the best of it. Keep the fishing side of things going, New year, new Beginning.
Great video, u always speak alot of sense , was thinking it would mayb be a good idea to talk about what dry fly is hatching each month and your imitation off that fly ? Think it’s something a lot off beginners and river newbie’s struggle with…. not long to go now , tightlines
Hi George , hope your well.. A tip for you hackle pliers..... If you super glue the rubber from an elastic band to the jaws of your pliers if makes it more forgiving and may protect the light feathers..
I suggest you keep the name. Change it and you lose word of mouth advertising. Sorry for the lose of local hunting. Very common problem where I live in the USA due to suburban housing development and the changing culture from farmers to relocated urbanites. The area I grew up in has totally changed and it would be very difficult to safely hunt it today. Your flies have proven to be VERY EFFECTIVE on all of the streams I fish. Glad to have you demonstrating your fly tying and patterns.
Great video been wanting to get into tying and the name I like gundog and fly but what about fly tie and fly sounds similar and it's what you are doing thanks very much
Hi George. Loving the name of the channel. I don’t think a change is required. I’m new to your channel. I’m also new to hunting. Just started this year and have upgraded from a single shot to a double barrel. Any advice for new hunters. My hunting is made up of rough shooting and wild fowling mainly. What dogs to get and how to train them. How to choose a good dog. Needs to be a family pet and able to hunt and accompany me when fishing. I love sea trout fishing. Most of my time is sea trout fishing. What flies would you recommend. When I’m lucky and time allows I like to salmon fish and brown trout fish too. I’m lucky in that the rivers near me hold a good stock of mullet to mullet flies would be awesome too. I’m awe of your work. How do we order flies from you. Would love to tie my own. But with kids and the like to be honest it’s easier and quicker to order. I’d rather be fishing than tying.
I would advise to keep the name as the channel is known by this name and you’ve build the channel on that name, think is a great name and I wouldn’t change it if I was you my friend. 💯💯💯💯
why dont you upload videos on tutorials for hunting, could still get use of the guns and show how you maintain your gun and get good shots when out hunting, setting up your gear, what are good brands to use what are total crap, like the fishing tutorials but for hunting. that would be a interesting topic to look into

Thanks a million..
Gundogs are in our hearts and minds and as long s you keep the memories alive you need not drop the name.
