I love the slat wall! That is such a cool idea. One thing that I might suggest to add to the design is a thin spacer strip buried down between the individual shelf protrusions, the exact width of the space between the slats. This would allow the slats to be perfectly parallel to each other and not let them rock side to side at all as you use the wall. Should not be very visible except when viewed head on (and could be painted white to camouflage them further). Fantastic work! 👍🏻👍🏻💪
Love seeing some painting of cabinets to make modern woodworking. Really elevating your design here, those toys are very good options to make it look sleep. This is something I would want to make and sell. Wife is lucky. Thanks for walking us through all the steps.
Really happy to see you sticking with your long form videos vs the ~10-15 most others do! But NGL, with you adding more and more pieces was waiting for a "One more thing..." or "But wait, there's more!"
I don't know if you know but they make drawer glides that are "push to open". Everything I've made for my shop has them and they're great. I never bang my hip on a protruding drawer pull anymore. They are side mount, however. I don't know if they make undermount glides that are push to open. Great job man! The desk has a nice clean look and that wall is amazing!
❤❤❤ That came out great. I’m sure your wife is gonna love it. Especially the wall planter. That was amazing watching you cut all those little pieces. I wish we could’ve gotten a reveal surprise. See your wife’s face when she saw it however, I’ll just have to settle for this. You have a good week.😊😊😊
great video, I hope your wife appreciates all the hard work you did on that project. My wife would love it. Thanks for the great video and keep up the great work.
First time watching your content. I like the simple and easy to follow explanations and build method. Especially the bits about using simpler tools for those who do not have a Festool infested workshop.
Kudos!!! I’m trying to get into parametric design with my CNC but the amount of waste was a deterrent. That’s a great idea to make the slats and ‘bump out’ separately. Now just to figure out the design and layout. Keep up the great work!
yeah it was a LOT of planning but in the end I easily could have doubled my material cost and created a lot of waste, some of which could have probably been salvaged, but still not usable on this project.
Nice free-thinking design. I enjoyed this. I also appreciate the links to the products used. I subscribed from this video alone. Can't wait to watch other videos you make. Thank you.
35:00 Correctly laying out 126 features on the backing board sounds like something the CNC should be doing! Even if it can't (easily) cut the biscuit-like feature, the CNC could at least score the locations, doing all the measuring for you and letting you easily line up the tool for the final cut.
Another way to make it easier but without a CNC, is to have the spacer strip have slots cut into it that match the locations of the dry fit biscuits in the slots you just cut. So instead of just butting the spacer up against the biscuits, the spacer fits onto the biscuits, and when the strip is flush to the table, it should have all the markings and everything perfectly aligned without measuring, as long as you measured everything correctly the first time. This also means that the spacer needs to be wide enough to take a set of the slots.
The issue would be visibility the way the Lamello works lining up with a mark on the base would be hard, not to mention the story stick is really clutch as both a positive stop and a place to "see" my mark.
Loved this video! I have a lot of cabinet projects done that are very much in thanks to videos you've put together over the years. In the middle of one right now actually.
You know no one ever goes into how to specifically set up and use those track saw accessories. I tried Ron Paul's set up video of the parrallels but I've never been happy and I never use them. How do you read the flip stops. How do you set them up for consistency. Even the square makes me angry. I find myself still bringing in an engineer square from both sides to check my sanity. Would love to see a video on that
Can you make a video with the essential tools that everyone needs to have to start with woodworking? I discovered your channel today and the way that you teach is excellent!!
Awesome makeover! I've been considering parametric slice modeling for something similar with shelving for plants but I worry about the rigidity of it when it comes to an applied side load (someone knocking into it). In the video you used tensor clips, do you think they would withstand someone bumping them(maybe dowels or dominos instead and just tensors over the stud screws)? Making a more shallow shelf would help but I love the way yours looks and now I'm set into making it.
There's definitely some "flex" on some of the pieces with wider profiles just due to simple leverage. How much force it would take to actually break the connection I don't know as I was primarily focused on whether it could hold potted plants which it seems to do with ease.
Thx for pointing out the wrong door hinges. We are getting ready to remodel our RV and there will be 1 possibly 2 cabinet doors that will open towards the side of another cabinet wall, so 90 degrees. What is the proper terminology to make sure we get the right hinge? Also I’ve seen your island build but it doesn’t have a toe kick around all 4 sides, any recommendations on how to do these while maintaining strength? My thought is to build a base with some internal dividers like in a “torsion box” and then build the island cabinets with a solid bottom and attach to the base after I’ve secured it to the floor. Any other thoughts? Thx
I just sprayed the sides and so over spray really isn't an issue. That's why I painted the front by hand. I didn't want to mask off the inside with plastic, too much time wasted
I hope you have been able to help support your family in that space you built in the garage your wife needed for the car she drove every day to work. Welcome home wife!
I'm sure Keith was psyched to have a Lamello friend. You'll probably find solace in each other when all the haters start commenting. The office looks great!
@@MWAWoodworks Lol people always find something to complain about. One thing I love about woodworking is that there's pretty much always a different (ie cheaper) way to do things.
Frame: "hard maple because it's durable" Doors: "MDF, which isn't" 😂 HDF would've been more durable, no? There a reason you went with MDF instead of HDF?
@@MWAWoodworks makes more sense. I know some woodworkers just refer to the whole class of products as "MDF" even though there are variations. Anyway, cool build, thanks for sharing
I feel like an idiot... I hate the jig saw because I'm always trying to free hand cut even straight lines now WHY did I not ever think to simply use a simple rafter square as a fence!!
That slat wall is absolutely brilliant.

Really happy to see you sticking with your long form videos vs the ~10-15 most others do!

I'll definitely be mixing in more long form stuff for sure. Gotta find that balance 😀

Wow what an amazing full office build. You have good design skills and of course outstanding woodworking as well. Thank you for sharing.
I love the piece of art on the wall, and the modern style is so neat and elegant.
Well done
great video, I hope your wife appreciates all the hard work you did on that project. My wife would love it. Thanks for the great video and keep up the great work.
She absolutely loves it!
not gonna lie, the 'joker drill bit' sequence did actually make me laugh out loud 😆 the wall piece is just stunning, love the flow it creates.
Haha glad you liked it. I liked creating it!
I love the sheppard brackets. Use them a lot. Their jig for the router and pilot holes is awesome
daaaaang I just saw the router jig. I didn't even know they had that!
Once again, excellent work! I'm no Safety Sally, but watching you drill that flat stock unsecured on the press had me puckered up tight!

I don't have access to a CNC machine, but this does have me thinking about how I could do something along these lines. Looks super cool!
thanks!
Awesome makeover of the office space. I wish I had an office that was so inviting to work in.
Great project!.

I love hearing this! 🙏❤️
I can and usually do cut to a chalk line. I understand that the jig makes it easier, but still, if you don't have factory tools, you can still do it.
Beautiful build! When you unveiled your “Tenso Spacer” I did want you to go back in time and use it to mark the locations on the slats. 😊
Ha! Yeah I didn't realize what a good idea it was until later 😂
Wonderful job, man!
Hey thanks! 🙌
It's a really great makeover of the room. Looks great
I'm glad you like it!
Long video, but lots of nice projects and great tips. - Chris
Thanks!
I enjoyed every moment of this video. Thank you for sharing and for the long format. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
So many lovely pieces The wall is my faveriote.
fyi: Fung Shu doesn't like peoples backs to doors. The side eye is fine.
Unfortunately the window view is perfect so the door loses 😋

Nicely done. FWIW, I love these full-build long format vids. Great build out, man.
I plan on sprinkling them in when its possible! I'm glad you enjoy it!
@MWA Woodworks Klein has a 1/4-5/16 ratchet that has a 1 inch or so finger hole that works good in tight spaces.
Excellent teaching forum. Really enjoyed your content.
Much appreciated!
Awesome video! Thank you! (Also...Go Cards!)
Great video! What kind of LEDs were those. I’ve been looking for some customizable lights and those looked good.
Ha! Just realized I left the links out of the description! Added now!
with all the beautiful tools you have why do you not own a spiral compression bit. One of them would save you tear out when grain direction changes
37:02 a wild LPL reference appears!
Re: shelf. French cleat wall? Could then move shelves around
I'll be danged...I really like pretty much everything you did there.
That plant wall is bad ass.
I looked but could not find a video showing how you built the pocket hole jig you used in the video.
I cut it out with a CNC
Very nicely done! I love the new office.
Thanks! 🙌
Gr8 build and if this doesn't say 'I love my wife" I don't what does💯
Happy wife, happy marriage.
Amen🙌
That is the coolest office ever.
🙌🙌🙌
48:45 you forgot why you drilled all those holes in your bench😊
awesome build, random question what is that rail called that you have your stop blocks sliding on for your miter saw rig?
Need to cut an access hole for the power sockets you covered up😮
I did!
Great video

No one is looking at your toe kicks, unless you are Elaine Benes.
Great project!
great work!
I want your work space!
On that action wall piece, I thought you were going to put LED strips in between all the slats.
Cool 👍
Yup 😛
Wut?! No wine rack? 🤣
😂😂😂 and no coffee bar either 😂
How do you like the spray tent? I was thinking of getting one.
It's great just remember to anchor it down. If the wind catches it you'll have a parachute in your hands 😂
When you painted you didn’t cover the inside? How’d you keep the paint from overspraying the inside
I just sprayed the sides and so over spray really isn't an issue. That's why I painted the front by hand. I didn't want to mask off the inside with plastic, too much time wasted
Awesome!
Thanks!
Did the slat wall require the Lamelo or did the Lamelo require the slat wall?
I believe it’s lmao. 🙄
I kid. 😂
Missed opportunity. Thumbnail text could have said A NU START
That's over on my cooking channel
Who did you use to design your custom parametric art?
Can't remember the exact name but I showed his ETSY shop in the video!
Grace still makes their pumps in the U.S.
Graco is a super awesome brand and make great products!
Hearing the hand saw hit the concrete floor was painful.
Not as painful as using it on plywood was 😂
Very nice,
Thanks! 🙌
Says who? I'm looking at toe kicks...... Oh wait wrong video 🤐
