Wow. Descript has gone from being a novel tool to a disruptive technology very quickly and is well on the way to becoming the replacement for just about everything. It's kind of crazy to watch this thing evolve, I feel like I'm along for the ride.

I just had to stop the video there. Was he joking? Did he misspeak? It's clearly a non-sensical number

I've used classic Descript for loads of my videos, absolutely cannot wait for this.
I've never typed a URL so quickly into my browser... Just the fact that this demo is so well made is a testament to the product. I'm just starting my video creation journey, so the timing couldn't be better! (unless I was granted early access today...)

Wow, this was amazing! I can't recall a product release I've actually shared... until now. I fell over laughing and had to watch the Premiere part 4 times- HILARIOUS!
I have always used descript as a video editor so this is awesome news!
A few times during the video I had that "You freaking WHAT?!" moment when I realize just how simple and intuitive some of the things are (ex. choosing source for a scene in the video podcast, setting length of the title "What the heck" to exactly match the point in the video where it's said, and so on). Cutting edge of imagination in editing.

How come you guys forgot to mention your best feature? "Ultra-realistic voice cloning with Overdub" is the best selling point on top of all the other great features you offer. I get this video is about Storyboard, but just at least a quick mention for the potential users that have no idea that overdub is, would have been great. I am not a paid subscriber yet, because I am editing a movie but when I am done, I will be going back to making content for my CZcams channel and overdub will be of great help to me. I am a stay-at-home Dad and have very little to no time left everyday. Overdub will help me with making content more consistently and hopefully help me upload once a week.
Thanks for pointing this out, I just got introduced to descript and plan to use it for the tube as well. I work and this is my side hustle as well as me just being a geek and wanting to figure out how to use the tools and make videos. I feel you brought on the stay at home, time is fleeting đ€Ł. I work now because chicken and beef are ridiculously priced đ. I love my job but gotta get the creative side out as much as possible đ.

having adhd, video editing in general has been a real pain. having ai assist with most of the technical stuff would be a godsend.
I kept waiting for you go "meta" and edit your own video and replace the phrase at 0:52 "28 hours a day" with "8 hours a day" LOL! Brilliant stuff.

0:53 I think consumption by WEEK is more accurate and probably what he meant. However, I would take it further If you watch 6 hours a day Monday through Friday totaling 30 hours then another 25 binge on the weekend it would average to around 55 hours a week. And I would not be surprised if we are already close to that now. Most people binge watch.

It looks amazing Andrew and Team! Great work! What did you use to turn the videos of you into hand drawings inside Storyboard boxes?
We used After Effects to create the animations and then dropped the animations into Descript for the final edit. Though you can't create animations in Descript, you can drop in .mp4s and achieve some great results.

Looks awesome. My videos are not in english so I'm basically skipping all the awesome text-based features and use Descript just like a regular editor. Looking forward for better international language support (German, in my case)

Exciting presentation. Chat was a little disappointing with the constant spam of invite links trying to game the reservation system, though.
only suggestion I would have made is to demo/focus more on the overdub feature - I think that could be the most impressive feature!

Any tips for remote recording for video podcasts? It looks like Andrew has a separate video track for his guest but if recording with Zoom, the video would show both guests in the default layout. Are they using another recording platform or maybe each guest is recording locally?

Unless it was a joke, in which case, I concur with the previous commenter who kept waiting for you to get meta and correct that in the software. đ
It might be just me, but it just feels like things are just flipped around compared to normal video editing, but the end result is that it's still complicated even though it might look easy the way it's presented. Does it really make video editing quicker/easier after all? There is still a timeline and still a lot of menu settings all over the screen. I'm curious to try it out.
