- The Indian Film Festival (IFFI) Jury Head, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, called The Kashmir Files a "propaganda" and a "vulgar movie" - he said that the Jury was "disturbed and shocked" to see the film screened at the festival.
True - The Kashmiri Pandit Tragedy has been a festering would for 30+ years with no clear resolution / justice in sight. Kashmiri Pundits have been continued exploitation by every political party and now their tragedy is being used to sharpen the communal saw. I am a muslim and I say what happened in kashmir was genocide. Why did goverment did not do anything is beyond my understanding. In some comments I saw people comparing it to Gujrat, and people opposing it. A murder is a murder, a rape is a rape. If you justify it and something is wrong in your values. Do you feel bad only if a hindu is killed or only if a muslim is killed based on your own religion? In long history of India, muslims and hindus have lived, sometime peacefully, some times harmed each other. No community can say they were peaceful, whoever and whenever had power they did wrong to other. Current hate being spread in social media in last few years is proof of that. On other hand lot of hindus and muslim just want to live and work to improve their lives.Genocides do not happen in a day, socitey has to walk in that path for long enough to reach to genocide.
People trying to discredit kashmiri pandit issue are saying just 89 people died, but 1600+ muslims have died since then. there is no "just" when we talk of murder or rape. Similarly people who downplay gujrat because it was revenge of Godhara also need to think back.
Truth is real culprit typically dont get caught and most who loose have nothing to with that hate. People lynched, people losing business, because of informal boycott, and people only caring if suffering person is from their religion. This all is very very bad.
What went wrong in kashmir? One segment of community went against another and spread hate and did crime and system looked other way. Why they were able to do it, because they were in numbers. What are we doing now? only thing that changed is position of communities. Are we not in path of repeating same thing?
Some may justify this as avenge, but those who are being punished are most probably who did not even ever lived in kashmir. Had nothing to do anything in that incident. Even in kashmir when this started first few people killed were muslim officers.
This film is about kashmiri people who died and had to leave their home. Give them support, try to focus on getting them back and suppressing those oppose it. Then if every one is clamed down Lets make sure we do not repeat this again. You can not avenege what happened 30 years ago, those you hate now may not be even born that time. I also find it strange when people say they did not knew truth. Truth was not hidden any where. Fact that kashmiri pandit died and displaced was true, so is the fact that almost whole India looked other way. Same people who got their eye opened now, what did you think happened? It was cruelity and stupidity at so many levels that such thing happened.
I was lucky to have parents who focused on education even when they were dirt poor. All my life we lived in hindu muhalla, except 1 my all friends are hindus. 99% of education I got was from hindu teachers. Then many times I was discriminated as well. Did not get home on rent. Met with strange questions and belief that people had about me. But I choose to ignore those things. My best friends are still all hindus. Secret was simple, you dont care about religion, you cared about who you can be friends with.
In business you care about who you can work with. Do not do samething to one for you which you started hating them. All I can say to muslims, you are backward you have to improve on education, you will not go to heaven for hating someone. To hindus, this is your time when in power to show that you really belive in vasudhaiva kutumbakam.
Both communities need to calm down. Before you ever conclude to hate please remember
1. No one thinks in same way, every person has diffirent opinion.
2. Criminal should be punished not his family or friends. We do not live in North korea.

Being a Kashmiri Muslim from Srinagar. My father's friend was Kashmiri pandit. When he left Kashmir, my father used to cry. With the help of God, My father managed to find his friend in Delhi after 4 years. Until now we have a good good relationship with them. They often come to Kashmir in the summer and in the winter. Friendship has no religion.

It's a simple fact that ISLAM has a step by step doctrine to overtake enemy region:

2.Then they start converting them to Islam by hook or crook.
3.The remaining are killed or thrown out of the region (same as what happened in kashmir, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh)

"Kashmir Files" just brings the story of kashmiri pandits to every corner of the country. Removal of Article 370 may have created some issues in kashmir but what benifit even it did provide while it was implemented. Atleast the government is working to bring solution to a problem which was kept sidelined for decades.

It's time they get peace, order and chance to become a better and evolved state. Since 370 has been removed and Indian forces deployed, now government's responsibility should be to make Kashmir a better and thriving part of India and also settle Kahsmiri pandits there who want to go back. The natives there should be given opportunities to develop their state while Pakistan should be kept out. Kashmir can be an amazing tourist destination.

While I was watching this movie, a lot of thoughts came to my mind, along with the pain of Kashmiri Pandits. My thoughts :
How comfortable would the person sitting on the cash counter of the box office be if he is a Muslim & keeps long beard.
How comfortable the service staff of the theatre would be if the name plate on his tshirt says Mohammad Ibrahim. Imagine he delivering pop corn during interval of this movie.
How comfortable the gatekeeper would be while people exit from the theatre & the gate keeper is a Muslim & keeps long beard.
How comfortable would a Muslim women be if she watches this movie wearing a burqa, among Hindu boys being around her.
My thoughts became real. Some of the viral videos on internet are highly objectionable. Some of these videos have shown :
A manager in one of the malls of NCR being harassed by educated Hindus. The only fault of the manager was that AC had stopped working during movie. His only fault was that he was a Muslim.
A muslim women was harassed by youth in one of the malls of NCR. She had to leave theatre with slogans like Jai Sri Ram being raised by boys around her. Her only fault was that she was a Muslim.
A few videos are going viral which are openly provoking youth for a genocide.
This isn't going to take us anywhere. This isn't us.
Kashmiri Pandits were thrown out of Kashmir by Muslims. This is true.
A section of Muslims is radical. They want to make India an Islamic State. This is true.
A section of Muslims wants Gazwa e hind. That's true.
A section of Muslims believe in Love Jihad & Kafir theory. That is true.
However targetting every Muslim isn't the right approach. That's like Supreme Court ordering the population of a village to be given death punishment because a riot happened in that village & court isn't able to decide who all were involved in that riot, so let's execute everybody.
This movie should create awareness among Hindus. This movie must encourage Muslims to introspect. However if this movie will create hatred among society, it's purpose will be defeated.
My request to my Hindu brothers, when you watch this movie in theatres, please do not encourage unnecessary comments against Muslims nor should that be done on social media. Those comments aren't helping us. They will also be noted by organizations like UN. Our chances of getting a permanent seat in UN will also reduce as human rights issue will arise.
My request to my Muslim brothers, please introspect. There is an institutional problem in Islamic Preaching by Muslims Scholars. That must stop. Please spread awareness among Muslim Youth. Please come out of denial mode & take the problem head one. The first question that you must take for introspection is “why are all terrorists around the world are Muslims". The theory “they were oppressed that's why they became terrorists" would have been true if Kashmiri Pandits had lift the weapons too. They did not. They waited for their government to take action. They waited for their judicial system to take action.
The most unfortunate part of this movie is that it's not being watched by everybody. We need to ensure that everybody watches this movie.

70 years and still instability, how many more years do we need. Also around 6 to 7 lacs military personnel are stationed in jk. The root cause is divisive politics.
