Koki Niwa is an absolute boss! I love how calm & collected he is, and what daring & clever shots he takes. He hands down, has one of the coolest styles in table tennis. I hope that he continues to improve.
Koki Niwa is a very deceptive and smart player... The strategy to win against the Chinese supremacy is probably somewhere here. He's taking the risk during the whole game and he beat XX! What an amazing guy! Niwa is one of the most talented players in the world. His sense of touching the ball is incredible. But you know what he has lack of power. He noticed that he can't be top ranker as he played like everyone does. That's why he changed his play style. Just my opinion.
After fantastic return from Koki Niwa by strong shot at 3:40 of this video, Xu Xin was morally killed and could not come to himself till the end...I am a fan of Xu Xin, but in this game we should give our respect to Koki Niwa, well done, Niwa, unbelievable match !

Xu Xin weakness is the forehand side, that is why Niwa is sensing this side. Xu Xin has to change his style of playing because for the penholder they tend to play forehand on the backhand side thats why the forehand is open and this could be troubling if the opponent have a good punch block to the forehand.
David vs Goliath. Koki depended completely on his blocking ability knowing full well he can't slug it out toe to toe agains XX. Him being short doesn't hurt, either. Smat move, young man!

Perhaps its age, era or the ball but my goodness does Xu Xin look like a limited player stepping around everything to hit a FH all because he has a pretty week (compared to other top pros) backhand. Puts him out of position leaving one side completely open if his opponents can keep their shots on the table. That style of penhold (the almost single wing hitting type) is completely dead. Must be more balanced IMO. Play more towards the center and not afraid to hit your RPB
Women's team is Muzino Men's team is Victas Victas and Mizuno are both japanse brand, probably they just want Victas to be more recognised brand as is young brand still.
Even though XX is the only player currently I'd pay to watch, I hate to admit FZ is far better than XX any day thanks to the new shitty plastic ball. XX will have to fight tooth and nail to get a berth in the 2020 olympics team and Individual event.
So i can give 1 reason that xu xin lose it because koki play style it really rude xu xin play really hard and tired but koki only wait for the ball come and counter it

I like Niwa's style here, he went all out making crazy risky shots. Xu Xin was under pressure and played relatively conservative.
