#riseoftheguardians #rotg #dreamworks - Krátké a kreslené filmy
This is probably DreamWorks' most underrated movie to date AND it makes me nostalgic for those beautiful opening logos. Indeed they shall be missed.
Universal lets Illumination have different minion logos so why can’t Dreamworks 😭
Bro this was my ABSOLUTE favorite movie
Didn’t expect you to break down my door and call me out in front of my family, god, and my pets by bringing up the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons thing but here we are
hey man we're in this together 🤝
Not to mention, Jack kept the love for his family really close. Jamie looks a lot like his sister, and I bet Jack Frost never left his hometown of Michigan. He was most likely a settler back then and had some nagging feeling he should stay. Jamie is probable his sister's great great grandchild, and he never left his families side even 300 years later.
😭🥗 you're making me cry?! in front of my salad?!
YOU ARE A GENIUS
That’s how I interpreted it too. The resemblance is uncanny
🙈 i was JUST thinking this ahh
not to mention the mural at 4:59 i'm guessing that they are his parents and sister, even him as the founders of Michigan
It is a shame this movie didn't do well enough in the box office to become a trilogy. Dreamworks is great at making sequels and this movie has a lot of potential.
Omg a trilogy with the guardians would mean everything 👏💖
it’s never too late for them to make one now 🥺
judging from megamind 2 tho I might not want them to make a sequel of this
Would we love it as much if Dreamworks ran with it tho? you know number 3 is always the worst
@@meriewanderer those were technically a different team though
I used to watch this movie on repeat, AND I MEAN REPEAT. It was on 24/7 in my bedroom and I'd recreate the scenes poorly with dolls, peak childhood.
that sounded fun 💕
Casually bringing up Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons dealt me an insane amount of psychic damage.
I am shook to my very core.
can’t have the comments cite the deep magic to me 🙈 I was there when it was written
I remember rewatching it in 2021 after going through some hard times, and I remember being so much more emotionally invested then I was the first time I watched it in 2012. Jack Frost was and still is a comfort character for me because I related to that sense of loneliness, being alone, and not knowing your purpose. Life felt less dark after seeing all of it. I cried. It was the best thing I’d ever seen. It’s still one of my favorite movies of all time.
RotG became important to me in that way as well, I just love how optimistic Jack remained 💖
@@CarrieTooTired Jack’s optimism is what kept me afloat during some parts of 2021, it’s still a comfort film to this day.
Same, he’s just so much fun and knows how to talk to kids. And him searching for his identity/center is one of the deepest journeys I’ve seen on screen. ❄️
@@The1DragonprincessAgreed😭😭😭 it makes me emotional every time I rewatch it❤
I watched this movie with my cousin one time and told them how the ending should have been Jack connecting with the villain about the two being outsiders and show him how his powers could be used for good, which ends with the villain either creating or being the new representation of the holiday "Halloween" and as a thank you Black names the Jack-o-Lantern after him. And that ended up ruining the whole movie for her because she liked my dumb fanfiction more than what actually happened.
None of this matters but this is a core memory I still look back to.
Honestly that would have been a fantastic ending!!! Even the jack-o-lantern part makes perfect sense.
Not gonna lie, that's actually pretty genius.
i remember watching it for the first time and feeling bad for Pitch at the end, he's not really a sympathetic villain, he doesn't have good morals or a "the end justifies the mean" kind of plan, but you still feel bad for him bc he shares the same struggle that Jack does throughout the movie, you empathize with Jack so you empathize with Pitch, so to see him disappear once again at the end you can't help but feel bad for him.
He is not a redeemed villain, you want to see him fail and you're glad at the end when he does fail, but the movie still made me sympathize with him and that's such a difficult feeling to pull out, understanding and feeling bad for someone while knowing they were wrong and that they are a villain and forever will be.
I think this may easily be Dreamworks most underrated movie. This was not only my fav Dreamworks movie but my fav MOVIE of all time. It's SO misrepresented. It's only now not my favorite because of the entirety of the How to Train Your Dragon series, but it's got a spot for "favorite single movie" somewhere in there. I won't forget it.
"favorite one shot" is a p good category considering there's a good amount of dw movies w/o proper sequels
@@CarrieTooTired Yeah good name for it, especially as a lot of my favorite "one shots" happen to be Dreamworks movies without sequels. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The movie gets better on every rewatch and I still can't believe DreamWorks never continued with it. But great review Carrie 🙌
thank you Chilly 💖 still can't believe even *Abominable* got a sequel project before RotG did 😭 dreamworks why
@CarrieTooTired Because Boss Baby and Trolls is true cinema
@@chillychivy435 that’s sickening 💀
@CarrieTooTired it's what DreamWorks's thinks the people want not a Rise or Megamind sequel 😭
At least Megamind got a show for next year 🥺 he finally got his W
It's criminal how this movie never got a sequel(s) or was made into a franchise.
15:26
Tighten being here just makes this peak comedy instantly.
that was my most galaxy-brained joke ever thank you
Omg someone else actually remembers Rise of the guardians and epic....that alone made this video amazing
haha epic gang rise up 💚
God i love this movie! The pretty animation and scenery, the epic music, the action, the likable characters, the cool villain. I like everything about this movie, it's one of the best Dreamworks films.
I really hope we can see a sequel one day. There's so much possibilities; follow the books, explore more Pitch's past, how Santa meet the others, make new villains based on the Befana witch or the headless horseman who capture naughty kids and scare them. There's so many fun things to do with this franchise 😀
I hope so too, there’s a lot of potential there
21:17 this dude never caught a break when painting lmao. Also Sandy dining the elf like a stress toy was funny af
To this day I believe with all my damn heart that if the movie had been made later with Spiderverse level animation, this movie could've been a HIT-- animators have already talked online about effect they tried with Pitch that they couldn't get to look right,
AND not using a style closer William Joyce's was such a missed opportunity. The fearlings look so COOL in the books
ultimate comfort movie for me, I was deep in rise of the brave tangled dragons and obsessed with jack- there's photos of me somewhere running around conventions with a handmade staff and cosplay with my dogs out lmao but seriously, this film to this day puts me in such a precious place and fills me with the wonder and hope it did as a kid going through stuff I didn't even know how to describe. what a special thing they made, I'm really glad it exists
that’s so sweet 🥺 I’m glad this movie has a special place in people’s hearts
One of my favorite parts about the movie is how heart wrenching that moment when Jack first realizes he's alone as the kid walks through him. Breaks my heart every time and it's honestly impressive
that scene gets me every time why did they rip my heart out like that-
I've only watched the movie in the latam dub and JESUS I didn't expect Jack to sound so deep, in the latam dub he sounds like a teenager (tbh that's the case with most Dreamworks latam dubs, the main characters tend to talk in a higher pitch than the original, like in Megamind and Kung Fu Panda)
I watched this movie and I feel like it deserves some love or a sequel but this channel is underrated
There’s definitely a lot of potential for a sequel 😭💖 and thank you!!
You’re right and you should say it, Bunnymund IS daddy💕
you get it
Saw this and your Wish video, and you've got a great style to your videos. Good taste, good content, and good memes. I'll just continue digging through your back catalog
thank you sm 💕
I’m gonna be that guy- North and Bunny can GET IT
yeah they can *high fives*
this was the only movie i watchched as a kid and rightfully so. jack with genuinley always hold a special place in my heart😂 also extremely underrated youtuber!!!
I rewatched this a lot as a teen haha 👉👈 and thank you
THE PIANO MUSIC AT 16:54 JUMPSCARED ME.
I WAS WEARING HEADPHONES AND THEN THERE WAS SUDDENLY THIS SUPER LOUD PIANO AND I WAS LITERALLY LOOKING AROUND LIKE "HUH WHAT WHO WHERE" TRYNA FIGURE OUT WHERE TF ITS COMING FROM-
10:10 I NEVER NOTICED THAT PART OMG
You know what I never understood in these types of movies, why does one year of the holiday not going as normal make every single kid around the world not believe? like... did they just forget the year before... why does one bad day where things don't go as it normally does make everyone go "Welp, I guess they don't exist". No criticism to the movie but it's so weird how so many movies, specifically Christmas movie have this whole situation going "oh no! we have to save Christmas or else all the kids will not believe in santa!" Like huh?
Side note, how do no parents believe in Santa or any holiday figures. Like do they not question who the freak is placing the presents in their house that they KNOW they didn't get. or maybe the eggs appearing out of no where, or the teeth just disappearing leaving money behind. Like I get when we are kids we think these stuff are real as our parents tell us, but as we get older we start questioning stuff and our parents will stuff tell us that they aren't real. But in these movies they are real, yet it's only the adults that go, oh I guess they aren't real even though there are random presents appearing in my living room every Christmas that I didn't get for my kids.
Sorry for the rant but it's a general question I have XD
I loved this movie as a child which honestly explains my obsession with Devil May Cry (Jack looks and acts almost exactly like Nero in nearly every way possible)
I rewatched this movie so many times when I was a kid, boy was I obsessed with Jack, he's the reason why I can fly in my dreams (the way they animate him soaring through the sky is just *chef kiss*)
man now I want to rewatch the movie again
not the rise of the brave tangled dragons literally one of the crossovers I was obsessed to too 😭
I think it also didn’t help that they showed too much in the trailers. The biggest example being that they spoiled the twist of Sandy coming back to life because in the trailers we saw him uppercut Pitch, which can’t happen if Sandy was dead.
OMG.. "They don't see me.... they don't see me." I'VE NEVER EVEN WATCHED THE MOVIE AND THAT HUUURTT AAAAAAAA
also Jack's hug with Jamie at the end brought a tear to my eye HIS EXPRESSION-
The casting is *chefs kiss* and after hearing all your points, now I need to watch it after all this time of procrastinating lol
Did you know there’s an incredible fanfiction of this movie called *’Secret of Frost and Moon.’* In it, Jack doesn’t lose his memories and he becomes the Spirit of Winter before becoming a Guardian with his little sister becoming his first believer, who’s also the ancestor of Jamie and Sophie. It’s a wonderful story with great characterisation and uses material not only from the movie but also the original books.
I remember this movie. Even as a wee lad, I knew this movie was special. It just has that magic that doesn't come with any other movie that year. It's fun, heartwarming, and just a nice watch all round. The only complaint I could ever muster as an adult, is the outdated and kinda ugly looking 3D faces on the kids. Aside from that, I literally have zero gripes with this. Definitely one of their more underrated catalogues. Shame that lame owl movie had to share a similar name to this masterpiece, probably lost a good amount of box office revenue to that.
guillermo del toro's involvment w/ rotg is definitely one of the reasons the visuals held up so well 👀 but yeah I agree that the marketing for this movie was very weak
Man, Jackman's career is somethin else. Guy goes from animalistic badass, to circus ring master, to Australian furry, and you can STILL tell it's him.
I remember watching that movie when it came out in theaters back 2012, and I remembered being obsessed with the Toothfairy and I enjoy that movie so much ❤
I remembered watching it on Thanksgiving day cus that was my family’s tradition 💕
Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons helped me through my sad years and motivated me to become an animator.
i have the tradition of wathcing this movie everytime I go sleep to my good mother's house.Since I was like nine or something.the firsth smut fanfic i read (for accident) was a jack frost x oc.
yhea,this movie hits Hard
oh no not the surprise lemon fics!!
Don't know where else to put this, but there's a theory that Jamie is actually Jack's many-great nephew, given how similar he looks to Jack and his sister in flashbacks
It’s such a special movie. Dreamworks brings the gorgeous visuals, and I’m sad this isn’t a more widespread movie
You are the most kind person i have ever seen and your voice is so calm and relaxing you are the best
5:30 "He may be a pretty boy, but he's also a sad boy." Relatable. #humblebrag
as a kid i could not stop watching this movie. it was my absolute favorite back then, and it's still so good today that i accidentally ended up spending most of my entire 17th birthday party watching it with a bunch of the friends i've made, even though most of us had seen it.
i think it was the best birthday party i ever had.
.... didn't help we were watching it by streaming my blu ray to obs on my laptop then up onto the tv for some reason
which allowed me to drag my unrelated windows over the movie to create some dumbass bits. i don't know why but one of them was just having a tiny png of ryan gosling occasionally slide up into the corner of the screen. but do i even need to remember why we did that?
no, because it added to the experience :)
the rise of the guardians needs and deserves more recognition
Oh my god my childhood of giggling everytime I see ROTBTD fanfiction writers shipping Jack and Rapunzel, memories >w
omg jackunzel shipper 👀
Rise of the Guardians is criminally underrated and so is this channel. This video was recommend to me today and I subbed right after binging your other videos.
Aww thank you so much 💖 welcome to the club 🥂
I unironically watched this movie because i saw those jelsa edits and wondered why i never saw Jack anywhere before. Found it and become quite obsessed lol
holy crap i’ve watched this movie so many times and i just got the “night mare” thing 💀 💀 that’s INCREDIBLE
21:43 That's like when EA put Titanfall 2 up against Battlefield and Call of Duty.
I only have one complaint about this movie; When Sandman revived, I really wanted him to "say" BOO.
And as much as I love Jack Frost from the movie, knowing Nightlight from the books makes him even better in my eyes!
Truly a forever blorbo. Love me an ancient immortal cosmic entity who brings joy and whimsy and comfort to everyone. 🙏
Disney's (scrapped) Starboy could never.
This movie was a ray of light and hope during a year that felt particularly shitty to me. I will always love it. Oh, and I totally had a crush on Jack Frost.
i would’ve killed for this to be a series
You deserve more subs
thank you 🥺
This is still my favorite movie till this day AND I HAVE A CD TO PROVE IT
OF THE MOvie
Even as a very tiny child this film has been one of my favourites and I am completely outraged that Twilight stole it's glorious thunder.
... My mom said the Santa is hot...
omg- you deserve WAY more subscribers, i just binged your whole channel and loved it haha-
aww thank you sm 🤧
This has been my favorite dreamworks movie since it came out. I still love it to this day, and seeing someone else loving it instead of having no clue what it is or just not caring. Its so underrated.
i’ve come across the rise of the brave tangled dragons fandom before, thought it was fun concept but never got too into it but might now, and i love this movie but idk something about this video unlocked the goblin in me that can’t be normal about it
This movie is so underrated and I’m glad that so many others in the comments section appreciate it! One of the things I love is the fact that each Guardian is from a different part of the world and you can tell by each of their respective areas/homes. It shows a bit of diversity without being all up in your face. One of the realizations I had when I was older was that Jack had to die before he became a guardian, meaning the others probably had to do the same. This movie has so many small details and the animation still holds up. I 100% agree that the did justice one the visuals and world building. One thing I never considered though is the fact that you said this is technically an Easter movie and I dont know how to feel about that one😂
got reccomened your Wish video (which was also great) but this video is top tier, subscribed and I'm excited to dig through your backlog (also you made me need to go rewatch this movie cuz I'd almost forgotten about it so thank you for that)
ahh thank you sm 💕 have a fun rewatch!!
0:34 OKAY BUT IN MY DEFENSE EVERYONE WHERE I LIVE AND EVERYONE I KNOW HASNT SEEN THE ENTIRE MOVIE
havent even watched the video yet, but me and my siblings (im barely gen z, and theyre gen alpha) are growing up with rotg. i have never said no to watching it, and wish it got more attention. tooth fairy best girl
I have absolutely loved this film ever since I saw it years ago! I was unfortunately too late to get in on Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons, but I still think it is so neat!
Hinsetly anothe movie I need to go back and watch again. It, Atlantis, and Treasure Planet have become incredibly pertinent to me now, and I think it is time to see what I can really do
Great takes on this movie! I genuinely agree with you! Sad this movie didn’t get more attention and love cuz this movie screams FRANCHISE
Its insane how your channel is not bigger you make great content and i cant wait to see what you'll do in the future :)
thank you 💕
This movie is very popular back in my country, it'll even be on open tv during easter or Christmas
oh that's cool
I love your vids! Please keep making them!
thank you sm 💕
I love this movie, and I have never seen anyone talk about it
the whitelaw pines get me everytime
I loved this movie so much as a kid that I got the pop-up book for it
This movie is my childhood ngl
I don't really remember watching it when it first came out but I do remember the McDonalds toys. The little tooth boxes, we had so many of them. I probably watched it a year after its release it its been my fave ever since. I just have it on repeat constantly
Oh I actually still have my Jack Frost happy meal toy somewhere
Dreamwork Rise of the Guardians,FireBreather,Delgo,Strange Magic,Cool World,Ferngully,Pagemaster,Antz,Prince of Egypt,Treasures Planet,Epic and Pixar OnWard need more attention!
I remember crying when sand died
Rise of the Guardians is definitely on my rewatch list, and one I made sure to buy a physical version so I could, whenever the fancy hits me. Next to Zootopia, Treasure Planet, and Titan AE.
If I had to pick a fanfiction mashup for it, it would Rise of the Guardians v Supernatural. The Winchesters take on the Guardians.
I genuinely had no idea so many people liked this movie, I thought I was the only one
I love this movie so much! It's so comforting and incredible! Ngl, the guardians, including Jack, give me gender envy
I love that someone talked about this film as it was the first film i watched in a cinema at the age of 2
I love your vids the animation is so cute :3
aww thank you 💕
Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons hit hard during my childhood, I made a mix of the themes for an ultimate big four theme song. That was fun to put together lol, btw thanks for the coupons ✨💖✨
ofc 🙈 anything for a fellow fan of the big four lmao
Those shots in the recording booth makes me wonder if they actually surrounded them with art for their character to help them get into character.
Probably not, but it's a fun thought.
I love this movie so much! I cried at the opening lines because that’s how I felt at the time. The funny thing is I think my sister, dad, and I saw it in the theater almost by accident? I hadn’t heard of it before we saw it ❤
Is Rise of the Guardians 2 possible? Yes!
Let's list all the facts supporting the possibility of another movie:
1. The director of the first movie is open to the idea of creating a sequel. "I'd love to be involved in something like that again, just because there are so many things I'd like to improve on from the first time because of inexperience or the circumstances that we didn't get to do.’’ (2020) The director? Peter Ramsey, the guy behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!
2. Speaking of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Dreamworks started to experiment with 2D and 3D. Their newest movies The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots the Last Wish are huge critical and box office successes.
The Bad Guys earned $250.5 million from the $69-80 million budget.
Puss in Boots the Last Wish earned over $400.0 million from the $90 million budget.
3. When we're on the topic, Rise of the Guardians wasn't a flop but it didn't make as much money as Dreamworks anticipated. The movie cost $145 million to make and made $306.9 million at the box office. With the new art style being cheaper to make but not dropping in quality future films will make much more money. And that's how it should be. Not getting more expensive and looking like an early 2000s CGI video game, Disney!
4. Dreamworks has no problem with making sequels even when there is a big gap between the last release. They announced Kung Fu Panda 4 for the 2024 release meanwhile Kung Fu Panda 3 came out in 2016. That's an 8-year wait while the original trilogy had about two 4-year gaps between installments. Between the original Puss in Boots and its sequel passed almost 12 years. Puss in Boots 2 also foreshadowed a potential sequel to the Shrek franchise for which the last movie was Shrek Forever After in 2010. The Croods came out in 2013, and its sequel The Croods: New Age came out in 2020. Again with huge positive critical and box office reception. $216 million from a $65 million budget. Dreamworks is the master of sequels!
5. Furry bait! People at Dreamworks have a connection to the internet. They know people went wild over Mr. Wolf and Death. Bunnymund voiced by Hugh Jackman? Come on, people will go crazy!
6. Great villain potential! Everybody is praising Death for how scary he is. People love tragic and complex villains like Ramses, Tai Lung, and Lord Shen. If Dreamworks leans into Pitch Black's backstory from the books they might create one of their best villains yet! I'm not going to spoil it.
7. Jude Law, VA of Pitch Black, will be in the Star Wars Skeleton crew and Pan and Wendy. Whether or not those projects will be good in their own right people will know him from those roles and might want to watch an animated movie just because he's in it. And Jack Frost's VA will be voicing the villain in Disney's Wish.
8. Dreamworks wants to please its audience. Unlike so many creators who destroy franchises out of spite or try to ''fix'' them to their own liking, Dreamworks respects its audience, characters, and lore. I'm sure they know fans want more, but they only make a sequel if they know it will be great.
There is only one huge problem. Alec Baldwin, the voice actor for Santa, killed someone. In October 2021 on the set of “Rust”, a Western being filmed, Baldwin pulled the trigger with a live round, killing the film's cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. I'm not going to get into detail. Find it on your own accord, there are plenty of people already cowering it better than I could.
The solution is easy, just cast a new voice actor.
It looks to me that practically everything is in perfect configuration for the Rise of the Guardians 2.
It also looks like Dreamworks has a new strategy. Release an original movie and then a sequel to the franchise, another original, and another sequel.
Yeah I didn’t include Alec Baldwin in my review exactly due to the Rust incident, but yes I think they should totally lean in on Pitch’s backstory if they get the chance!!
After seeing this video I am on my hands and knees BEGGING you to do a video on HOP. I really like it and I'm so curious what other people think of it
Edit: Just got to the part of the video where you call HOP shit, my begging still stands please roast the hell out of it
I just rewatched ROTG before watching this and omg it's *SO* UNDERRATED!!
I always have to remind my siblings this isn’t actually a Christmas movie. Definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen
I NEVER heard or seen this movie, I SEEN some fan art stuff with frozen... but always kinda saw like a OC....
Hugh Jackman is in this film!?!!?!?!?
ahh thank you 💕 hugh jackman as bunnymund is honestly worth the watch!!
i remember loving sandman with my pure heart and the movie sm because the animation and the story is so catchy
one of my favortite therories is that jamie iws decended from jack's sister. it makes him being the first person to believe in him that much sweeter
8:39 🤣🤣🤣
12:09 💙🥺💙
17:05 🥺😭😭😭😭😭
19:54 ✨💚QUEEN💚✨
Damn this is a really good explanation to why I fucking love this movie so much
thank you 💕
I LOVED this movie as a kid
“Wait. You’ve seen into the spiderverse?”
…girl.
i watched it at the movies when i was younger. i know it since i remeber keeping a little thoot fairie figurine that came with the drinks.
I love this movie so much my family watched it every winter ❤
I will never not get tired of rewatching this movie
Love this movie! I have a fan fiction on it and am working on a second one
i first watched this movie so many years ago when i was sick and i spent so long thinking it was some crazy fever dream 😭
