Same. This is basically the same outcome, but makes more sense to me.
I never thought a long tail cast on could be crochet! Considering i can barely knit.. i like bringing it to crochet. Crochet is my happy place. 😂😂😂

I was skeptical about trying this but I actually love it! It works super well and makes my foundation chain so much more uniform!
How interesting. I did something like this years ago and had forgotten about it. I will try this soon. And I just saw where Celina said it reminded her of a knit chain and I think that is it. I used to try knitting because my mother did this but she didn't crochet. Amazing

This is also called I cord. This is how I start many of my projects because it is easier to work with than a chain stitch.
I knit a bit but crochet more so one day I just did this for shits and giggles but this just made me so happy and now I wanna start a project like this. Thank you for this inspiration

There are many things on knitting and crochet that we figure out by ourselves. Then we realize, often by yourube videos, that pthers have created just the same with trial and error. This is one example of those "new creations."
This way creates a lot more stable and even start than doing just plain starter chains.
I've recently mastered the foundation chain. This looks so much easier, especially since I'm a knitter as well. So excited to try it 😊

I didn't know you could do a long tail cast on for crochet, that's super neat! The first two rows are the worst for me do this will help a lot

The beginning is basically a long-tail cast on for knitting!
In knitting, this is called a ‘long tail cast on’. Now I can crossover on my cast on.

No it's not knitting. It looks that way because you hold the yarn like when you cast on for knitting, but after the cast on you make a single crochet. Easy!
