    Thanks for part 1 and 2. I am looking to getting into nrl and the BMR is one of the options I am considering. Looking forward to the range / accuracy report.

    Thanks for the 2 part series so far. Just switching from the RPR to the Bergara BMR for my NRL22 base class setup (this month was the first for shooting the BMR) and found some of the info in these 2 videos to be quite helpful. Now if you could only include where to source an extra mag or two ( or if anyone is making a 12rd version/extension) in future parts, we will be set!

      I was going to purchase a RPR for a little backyard squirrel killer and plinker but felt it was a little overkill with the whole tactical look and a pound heavier. This BMR looks like a perfectly light grab and go gun. Shooting it suppressed will be fun!

    Do you think this rifle would (If chassis systems come out) be a decent choice for NRL22 open class? I'm going to try out base class once my local ranges start back up, but would like to be able to transition to open class if I do well enough. Thanks for the great content!

    • @darrondb

    What size thread is the bolt knob? I've had my BMR for a couple of weeks now and haven't got to shoot it a whole lot yet, it does seem to agree with Lapua Center X, RWS Rifle Match and Eley Match about equal from what I've tried so far. For a more economical ammo it groups very well with Norma Tac-22 and CCI SGB. Mine doesn't seem to care much for bulk and most high velocity ammo. The bolt could've come a little smoother from the factory, but all in all a very good gun for the price.

    • @darrondb
      @darrondb  Před 2 lety +1

      I agree, I wish it was a bit smoother, but the bolt release mechanism makes it a bit clunky. Bolt thread is 6mm

    On the scope that you are using for NRL22 is it MOA, or MIL? Is one better than the other for this type of competition?

    • @darrondb
      @darrondb  Před 2 lety

      I use mil. One isn't necessarily better than the other. Mill is simpler for me, and they're tend to be more folks using mil than moa

    I am unfamiliar with Base Class specifications is this something you can change the trigger in or does factory trigger have to remain?

    • @darrondb
      @darrondb  Před 2 lety

      For NRL22, you have to keep the factory trigger. But it can be tuned

    • @jonesy112
      @jonesy112 Před 2 lety +1

      @@darrondb they may have changed that for this year, unless I am reading the rules incorrectly. From the NRL22 rule book, "This combined MSRP price is for the rifle and scope only. It excludes scope
      rings and bases, bipods, suppressors, data card holders, magazines, spare magazine holders, auto bolt releases,
      aftermarket triggers and extended magazine releases."
      I do know that for PRS22, to remain in Production you have to use the factory trigger.

      @@darrondb i want to use it for prs and nrl. Is the steel barrel better than the carbon fiber barrel? I've read that the CF barrel sometimes is not as good as it's expected to be. Other point to consider is that being a heavier barrel gives more balance.
