If you haven't heard them already, I recommend the songs "My Immortal" and "Lithium" from Evanescence. They, along with "Bring Me To Life" and 6 others from Linkin Park got me through some really challenging emotional anguish.

So glad you did this with the original Amy Lee & not Carly Smithson. Carly is a great singer in her own right but Amy brings that emotion you do not get from Carly on this song. I would however love to see you do a reaction to Kodi Lee on his original song on AGT fantasy league. Blind & very Autistic but a very talented musician. One hell of a piano player & can hear a song one time & play it. Also a good singer. But he wrote this song himself & it is amazing. The lyrics are also amazing.

Uffffff omg I LOVED them in middle school when this song came out. That first cd was so good!!! I couldn't believe it when you said the song is 20 years old, it's so timeless. Had the band not worked out for her, she probably could have had a career in opera, her voice is beautiful.

I’m from the general area in Arkansas where Amy and Ben are from and I remember THE EXACT DAY that what I’m about to say happened. I lived in the middle of nowhere Arkansas and traveled to Memphis, TN for work. While i was in the AR universe, i had access to AR radio that had this song on blast every hour. When i got into TN….nothing. So after a couple of weeks i called the TN radio station responsible for broadcasting rock / metal music and asked them to play this song. Because I was 1) a chick and 2) the name sounded “chickie” they told me “we don’t play pop music here”, so i had to explain to them who they were. Keep in mind that we’re talking about the traveling distance of 2.5 hours which is nothing in America (to Europeans). It literally took a whole nother month for this song to be played in Memphis!

I love that you got to react to Evanescence but it’s so sad you chose a performance from so early in her career. Amy has improved so much over the years.
I would’ve chose a more recent one like their Novarock 2022 from their CZcams channel or Synthesis DVD from 2018, where they toured and performed with a whole orchestra
As far as their genre in music Amy has described that she finds it hard to categorise an artist in specific genres but in her opinion, she believes her band Evanescence is in the Alternative Rock universe.
