- Her neighbor put up a trellis to block her windows. He said he owned the land. She said it’s her property, and the neighbor dispute got worse, so she turned to Help Me Howard with Patrick Fraser.
Name the cop. He is a public official breaking the law.
Completely agree but also think he should no longer be a cop. Officers like this are the cause for all the calls to defund the police. Well in the case this specific officer does need to be defunded.

How did he have a survey showing different property ownership? Did he forge it? Did a clerk forge it? That's a crime. I'm unaware of ANY resdiential property that owns everything right up to a neighbor's wall. Fraud, corruption, harrassment, endangerment, abuse of power, trespassing and damage of private property.
There are easements where I’m at where a neighbors house is built on part of the next neighbors property. Usually in rural community areas, not suburban planned communities like the houses shown here.
I am sure the foficer showing up at the buildings dept. and saying he is a cop and flashing his badge helped.

zero lot line properties are built exactly on the edge of their property lines. Those houses don't have windows on that side of the house because their exterior wall is literally a fence for the property it abuts.
Someone bought the property adjoining mine and had it surveyed. He claimed that part of my property was his, as well as part of another neighbor's property. In the ensuing legal engagement, we learned that it's a common thing for different surveyors to come up with different boundary lines.
This cop is clearly a nut job and needs to be fired immediately.

@@trollhunter8148 Reality here, based on her property survey, she owns the land. The city confirmed that. He infringed on her and charges should be laid for for making false documents of a survey. You don’t nail something on the neighbours house either without their permission. He is trespassing. Also you don’t use your position in the police force to intimidate people. So many ways to see who is wrong here. People have rights to protect themselves.
The sad thing is the city should have figured this out for themselves. There can’t be two surveys, one right, one false. They should not have sided with a neighbour, without checking further and issuing a permit to a perpetrator. She informed them and it took going to a third party to resolve this issue.

Some of the most egregious police behavior does not even result in a one day suspension. And...often the same officers are promoted within a year or two.

I'd contribute to a fund for her to build a sturdy fence at her property boundary, and install streaming cams. "Sturdy" would involve a high cement wall with rebar and security cams. Evil me thinks she could paint his side with prison bars, Disney princesses or Warner Bros., while reasonable me shouts "Don't do it." No malicious acts on her part, to prevent any possible lawsuit, just paint his side to look like a boring, neutral stucco or something. A cop threatening to contact the police, who he has connection in, to press charges against her, for trying to remove a severe safety hazard illegally placed on HER property, is a conflict of interest, a misuse of power and in and of itself should have gotten him fired.

Sometimes if you have a house with a zero lot line, one or two sides of your house will not have windows. Many subdivisions are like that.
@@ES-7766 Fire code has to have a second exit - normally a window. I have seen places for sale with 2 bedrooms, and then 2 "bedroom like" rooms. The "bedroom-like" rooms did not have windows, so legally could not be called bedrooms, and legally should not be used as such - as it is a fire hazard. This is an assisted living facility - he put all of their lives in danger. Had a civilian done this - they would have been in jail.

News should investigate his fake survey. Who, what, and when performed/registered survey? Sounds very suspicious. He's a dishonorable and petty neighbor, more than likely the same type of cop. He probably didn't expect the owner to fight back.

@GM8101PHX yes, I listened to the report. It's more than just a simple "error." What survey as it pertains to houses with close proximity allows for encroachment up to and including another's home? They're not even townhouses but SFHs. Plus, that cop is the elected treasurer for the Coral Gables FOP, He didn't expect his neighbors to fight back. He subjectively tried to intimidate(putting trash bags up after being forced to remove planters and fence on house) and, in my opinion, provide a fraudulent survey. So I still ask the same questions. His actions are quite suspicious.

@@Hadasah777EXACTLY! We have streamlined our process up here in Chicago, so the permit process is clear, concise and correct, so no shenanigans occur, nevertheless shady stuff from shady people like this cop can occur. Inspectors need looking at too.
