Took mine off today. Left it off and the shaved look brings out the back. 10 pound line worked great. Thanks again Paul. Keep these videos coming!!!
Just a detailing tip but hot water and dental floss works much better with zero chance of damage.
how much hot water?
@@mohamedb7008 all of it
Have you ever tried jizz and dental floss? 😆
@@JacesOwnWorld dude wtf lmao
Nice video Paul, appreciated.
Good video - very helpful
Nice vid, I'm gonna try this on my VW Golf 6 GTI 🔥
That's clean!
great video, thx. I want to remove the badges on the front fenders as well on my mk7 gti. are these glued to the fenders like the one on the rear lid? thx.
I did this today, right before you made the video hahaha
love you paul
Do you know how to install the red Performance Pack GTI logo for the front bumper? I bought it but I can't figure out how to put it on.
Thx again 🙏
Any advise for debadging a car that has had a ceramic coating like opticoat pro? Any other precautions to take?
Great guide. Recently purchased the MK7 Performance Package emblems for my non-PP 2015 GTI. The red looks great on the black paint. Love your videos, Paul.
thanks dear,,
I purchased this and installed on my mk7 about 2 or 3 years ago. I noticed that the gloss coating is now peeling. I was considering adding a clear layer on top. Any tips? If not, I already have a spare black logo from your shop.
Can you give me a brief thing of how to remove the gov on that car? And what will happen if you do? Also if you put mods on it it'll have to come off anyways? Or idk how that works
May I suggest lighter fluid/naphtha for removing the sticker residue, it would work much faster at dissolving the sticker. I’d say you’d want to use it in a very well ventilated area.
good I like
Use WD40 to remove adhesive. Spray it on and let it soak for three minutes. Then it will come off easily.
what about the front badge? I want to remove the front but afraid to break the grid
The kerning between the G and the T is too wide on your aftermarket one.
that is true!
Micah Smith All those eBay knockoffs also have an upper arch on the G that is way too thin, compared to OEM badges.
Its to know they are dealing with a: Grand. Touring. Injection. ;)
Yeah! I bought 1 for the front grill but doesn’t fit. Any ideas?
@@tredfxman you mean Grand Turbo Injection
Well you GOOFED OFF your measurements lmao thanks this is helpful don’t want to scratch the paint!
Where did you get that black factory GTI emblem for the back. I've looked a ton of placed and can't seem to find one! Thanks...
Ted Kapsalis ecstuning
What are the dimensions for the logo on the back?
Hi, what are You using to remove the foam?
is there any way to reuse the original GTI logo? I have the pp and was hesitant to remove them. I know you guys sell them tho.
If you were patient enough you could probably remove the adhesive and cut new adhesive. It would take a long time and likely wouldn't be worth it.
Soak a paper towel in white vinegar and tape it over the adhesive for a few minutes. It will wipe right off. I really want the red badging on my 16 S. The chrome just doesn't show up on the Reflex Silver.
Would have been easier to just plastidip it. Good job and video!! Thanks for this!
Was just about to mention this, 4/6 coats of that and it peals around the badge nicely.
Maybe because he sells the black logo and not the plasti dip
I dont think it could last as much as this
Plastidip looks like crap
413_Dina it's like sex vs fap fap not the same...
if I wanted to go completely badgeless on my mk6 could I use this fishing line method and then clay my car to remove the adhesive? I'd prefer not to use goof off on my paint.
I available, try lacquer thinner in place of goof-off.
do not use goof off on your paint it will take off your clear coat off. I did it on my BRZ at it left spots
WHENZLUNCH Volkswagen clear coat is is far superior to that on the Subaru also as long as you wipe it off immediately you won't have any trouble
Agreed. Took everything off the trunk of my evo using goo gone, paint is fine.
Used goo gone on my MK7, no issues.
Do you have the black badge in your shop?
Cool tip!!!!!!! (sorry: Hot tip!!!)
Idk. Those letters look way too spaced out.
Advice: Paint the Background of the rear VW logo Glossy White (same color as body) I would love to see the result
Nearly ten mins on how to put a sticker on, quality.
It's too bad that you didn't have the 'factory template' to rebadge the car.
set it on fire?
just use the plastidip stuff. 5000x easier.
nicktune1219 plastidip instead of goof off?
Removenen the installinen the badgenen.
How to take out front GTI logo?
Dženan ツ Pull. It's clipped on.
Take out the grill first
bro that link is the most cursed thing ever just quietly
Too bad these aren't sold anymore.
Why doesn't he blink?
+Taran Gill he's a robot so he doesn't need to. He also doesn't get haircuts. ; )
Lol at 4:03
Exactly all this mission when i can just plastic dip that shit lol no worthy.
Poof, and the lines are gone!
Use a credit card to scrape next time!
Mask of with painters tape, then plasti dip that lil guy. But…..plasti dip comes off when taking into a high powered car wash….🤷♂️ oh well.
Nooooo don't do this
I am not a big fan of these types of mods. It looks kinda cheap.
Not rocket science ..... a small child could've done that ....... so why the need for a 10 minute tutorial ?
