- 818 Tequila is a "premium" Tequila owned by Kendall Jenner, one of the Kardashians. But honestly its pretty bad. In this video i tell you why that is, and what brands you should be drinking instead!
818 Tequila is a Tequila brand that retails for anywhere between $50 to almost $70 depending on where you buy it. They have an 818 Blanco, the also have a 818 Reposado and a 818 Anejo expressions.
818 Tequila has been making waves on social media and traditional media despite all of the over celebrity tequila's coming out over the last few years. It's hard to keep up with all of them to be honest, but 818 has been able to carve out a space for itself in the market.
The Three brands I cover in this video are all family owned and run, free of additives and are all well worth your money.
Tequila Ocho was created by an absolute legend of the Tequila Industry, Carlos Camarena and everything he makes is amazing. He partnered with Tomas Estes who was an official tequila ambassador to Europe. Mijenta is a Tequila is an amazing tequila created and ran by a female master distiller who truly deserves praise rather than Kendall Jenner.
Fortaleza Tequila has been around for over 125 years keeping their traditions alive and well. Siete Leguas is one of the most important distilleries and brands in the tequila industry, they were the original creators of Patron, which is a mega famous brand today. Cazcanes is a relative newcomer to the tequila industry but it is no less any important.

I got 5 spare bottles of Fortaleza, I think I’m ready for the price increase and scarcity. Im patiently waiting for Cazcanes/Ocho/Volans/Mijenta to cross the border. 🙈😛

What are your thoughts on the new cachaça brand Cãna? It’s branded as sustainable and authentic but I wanna know if it’s legit

Holy shit!! Thats price in insane!! Ocho is incredible. Try it in a margarita it transforms it. It really does. I made the mistake of telling the local store how good it is and now it's sold out.
And there are sometimes sales and someone told me they got Tequila Ocho blanco for $37
@Lui Fernandes just so you know , that's a crazy price. I would take out a loan to buy them at that price lol. The only thing and I mean the only fault is the reposoado. I don't think the upgrade in price is worth the little time it stays in the barrel. That's not here or there I'm just not buying the reposoado anymore. It's not the quality it's just in my area why pay 20 or 30 more for a couple of weeks in a barrel you can't taste. So I just buy the Blanco. Because I opened my mouth I have to travel to buy them but that's OK it's worth it.
If you're ever in Arizona, check out the Liquor Vault in Scottsdale! They offer many great additive free brands and are very knowledgeable and passionate about tequila! They have Mijenta, Corrido, Wild Common, Ocho, G4 still strength, 1861 Primo, Cascahuin Tahona, El Tesoro, La Adelita, and Fortaleza although that's been difficult to get in anywhere and I havent seen it in a while. They sell the most Mijenta in Arizona by far!!!

@@Lui_Fern Yes! They have a sampling license too with many bottles available to try. Arizona in general is great for tequila! Love the content from a fellow New Englander now living in Arizona!
The mijenta Reposado is normally $68 at total wine, but they have it on sale for $48. I’ve been enjoying my bottle

Hey Lui, Totally with you on Volans. I know that NOM 1579 is number 2 but for me NOM 1123 (Cascahuin #3) is the absolute best! In GA, where I am, it’s way more available that Fortaleza. I’m guessing that you didn’t acknowledge Cascahuin in this video is only because it’s not readily available to you?
Please seek out some of these products from NOM 1123. Brands: Cascahuin (The name Of the NOM also). Siembra Valles. (High Proof and Repo are STOOPID good!), Artenom 1123 may be the best Blanco on the planet.
You are super spot on! Cascahuin is hard for me to get my hands on so i haven't been able to properly talk about it but I've been desperate to get some! Hopefully soon I'll be able to get my hands on some because i hear only magnificent things about it and all the products made there.
I actually liked the Resposado but had no idea it was attached to those people. Guess I’ll move 818 to the guests that never bring anything shelf. The Anjeo wasn’t $90 for me - more like $70. But you're right, for just $30 more you could get a fantastic Grand Mayan Extra Anejo

where did you find 818 for that much, not disputing taste but at my local total wine 818 is 41 while ocho is 51 and mijenta 48. Also did enjoy el tequileno so thank you for that
Oh weird! Near me 818 us super pricey. Maybe theyve been adjusting their prices?
I think it has to do with the region and the store. Im in CT and i know that compared to NY alcohol is cheaper but also that store i mentioned is a huge chain so they probably buy in bulk to get the price down.

As a Finnish fan of yours and based on what I (think I) know about the US legal system, how come you are not getting sued by all the alcohol brands you put down? Don't get me wrong, I applaud what you're doing but still it makes me wonder if you spend all your days in court 🙂
Well probably for a lot of reasons. One I'm probably not on their radar, they could sue me but they'd have no legal basis. Freedom of speech, freedom of press. For something to be Libel or defamation they'd have to prove that i knew what i was saying was incorrect and still said it anyway to attack them. I'm not here to attack anyone, just stating what i believe from my research and talking about tequila production. So hopefully no one sues me 😂

All these Tequila bottles you show us to try, Are they made here in the U.S. or from Mexico?
Tequila can't be made in the u.s. there is a Denomination of Origin, protecting Tequila Production. It can only be made in 6 regions of Mexico, one of the main ones being Jalisco.

@@juniorn.4830 Yup! They are imported yes. I have heard of a few brands who bottle in the U.S but the tequila itself must be made in Mexico.
