    It was a very moving moment when Mike was talking about his father. Griffey and Piazza are both class acts and are the type of players that everyone should want to see in the HOF. They are both are players that set the bar for excellence. I see both of these players and realize that players like Pete Rose and Barry Bonds will never be in the Hall of Fame.

    As a Yankee fan he was always the enemy and feared every time he came up in the subway series and 2000 WS. Boy am I glad he's retired!
    He's a class act and deserving of this introduction , the part about his dad brought tears to my eyes

      We Mets fans felt the same way about the Core 4, and will be there to cheer on Jeter, Mariano, Pettite and Posada when its their turn on the Big Stage.

    A true class act, miss you Mike! You will always be one the greatest Mets players. Thank you for your kind words regarding the FDNY, NYPD, and first responders of 9/11. Also when you spoke to your father in Italian I got teary eyed, wonder moment, God bless you always 💙🧡💙🧡 #31 #LetsGoMets

    He was the greatest Catcher I ever saw..probably ever was. There will never be a catcher that will easily have 20,30,40 home run seasons and have over400 home runs and 12 all stars under their belt.

  • @randomname3715
    @randomname3715 Před 8 lety +8

    He will always be a Dodger. The Dodger fans had nothing to do with the trade. Eliminating the 103 win Giants on the last day of the season with 2 home runs was the best. I can still see Matt Williams crying about it.

    • @TheNightrain99
      @TheNightrain99 Před 8 lety

      Nope, he wasn't a Dodger from the point the Dodger owners wanted to give Kevin Brown more money

    • @amazinmets8439
      @amazinmets8439 Před 7 lety

      He had more home runs as a Met and a World Series appearance so I'd say he is more a Met than a Dodger but that's just me talking because I'm a Mets fan LOL.

    • @TheNightrain99
      @TheNightrain99 Před 7 lety

      ***** Your ignorance is baffling. He wanted to get paid market value, which the Dodgers were unwilling to provide. Then the Dodgers traded him and gave Kevin Brown more money the following offseason, not to mention paid Gary Sheffield a whole lot more that same season. Makes a lot of sense.

      I became a Piazza fan the day he was traded since they were stupid enough to trade one of the best hitting catchers in history,,
      I am a longtime Royals fan,,,(since 77)

    I'm surprised he did not talk about what Lasorda did for him. If it wasn't for Tommy Lasorda he probably never gets drafted and is working for his old man at the dealerships for the rest of his life.

    The only thing that pissed me off when I see this is: HOW THE FUCK DID IT TAKE HIM 4 ATTEMPTS!!!! This man was a no Brainer, a first time automatic in. It's a disgrace it took him 4 attempts along with biggio who's still not in w 3000 hits. There r players that deserve to be in the hall like idk EDGARDO ALFONSO, Al Leiter, Larry Walker!! It saddens me that Lee Smith the guy who held the all time saves record for 40-50 years isn't in, but surely they will put Mariano Rivera in. Mike I'm super excited for you to be in and going as a Met. Very deserving, wish we won a championship

    • @MassenaLineRailfan

      +davidd320 my bad I meant like didn't go in right away. they had to wait a couple of times. unlike randy n pedro(who doesn't 300 wins) but I understand great pitcher no problems. but I don't think it's fair for guys like biggio n piazza to wait 3-4 years to get in. Keith hernandez should be in another disgrace, but Gary Carter?!?!?!? terrible
