I was there. Those mics really muffled the crowd. It was roaring loud. NY loves Michael Piazza
As a Met fan the speech brought myself to tears. He did a lot of good in New York and he is such a class act. We love you Piazza! Let's go Mets!
Mike Piazza, a true Hall of Famer, and a source of pride amongst all Mets fans.
A modern day Hall of Famer who wanted to go in as a Met
9/11 hits home 😢
Class act..Still angry we let him go to the Mets. Always belonged in the Hall for sure.
Actually, you let him go to the Marlins. LOL
Wow...just cried my eyes out. Love that speech! Congrats Mike Piazza!!!
Mike, it's been a long time coming. It was such a long wait. The Mets fans are so glad it finally you are now in the hall of fame!!!!! Congratulations, Michael!!!! Let's go Mets!!!
It was a very moving moment when Mike was talking about his father. Griffey and Piazza are both class acts and are the type of players that everyone should want to see in the HOF. They are both are players that set the bar for excellence. I see both of these players and realize that players like Pete Rose and Barry Bonds will never be in the Hall of Fame.
As a Yankee fan he was always the enemy and feared every time he came up in the subway series and 2000 WS. Boy am I glad he's retired!
He's a class act and deserving of this introduction , the part about his dad brought tears to my eyes
We Mets fans felt the same way about the Core 4, and will be there to cheer on Jeter, Mariano, Pettite and Posada when its their turn on the Big Stage.
+Giovanni Cano posada is not going to be a hall of famer
the guy who was there from the beginning should already been in the hall and that's Bernie Williams he was clutch in the post season
Bomb Bro prob not ,he has a few rings though ,and was a way better defensive catcher.
A true class act, miss you Mike! You will always be one the greatest Mets players. Thank you for your kind words regarding the FDNY, NYPD, and first responders of 9/11. Also when you spoke to your father in Italian I got teary eyed, wonder moment, God bless you always 💙🧡💙🧡 #31 #LetsGoMets
He was the greatest Catcher I ever saw..probably ever was. There will never be a catcher that will easily have 20,30,40 home run seasons and have over400 home runs and 12 all stars under their belt.
Awesome speech. And I never was much of a Piazza fan. Class!
As good as a player he was, he is even better a person.
As young, gritty and tough Mike looked on the field. But such a big softy!! Love his heart. My idol, I learned be I g a catcher because of him. And to study baseball.
Man he was a great ball player.
He was one of my all time favorite players
What a class act. So deserving of the induction to the MLB Hall of Fame.
Mike is one humble, beautiful & talented human being. Love the Piazza clan, all of the Piazza cousins are amazing, hilarious, kind & generous!! Congrats Mike, you earned it my man!!
RIP Vince Piazza. You taught your son well.
The biggest mistake the Dodgers ever made was to trade Mike Piazza. I never forgave them for that booboo.
Thank you for uploading this and also providing the link.
My eyes are so red after watching this =) I love you Mike!
Very moving speech.
amazing speech
Let's goo METS .Mike piazza is one of the best to do it for New York
Thanks, Mike. Hall of Famer. Well deserved.
Will miss you in the baseball organization for this year
We’re my favorite baseball player. That I have ever had
awesome.. Nothing more needs to be said
Letting Piazza and Beltre go were the worst errors in Dodger history for sure.
They traded away Pedro Martinez too.
add Pedro Martinez, Paul Konerko to that list
He will always be a Dodger. The Dodger fans had nothing to do with the trade. Eliminating the 103 win Giants on the last day of the season with 2 home runs was the best. I can still see Matt Williams crying about it.
Nope, he wasn't a Dodger from the point the Dodger owners wanted to give Kevin Brown more money
He had more home runs as a Met and a World Series appearance so I'd say he is more a Met than a Dodger but that's just me talking because I'm a Mets fan LOL.
***** Your ignorance is baffling. He wanted to get paid market value, which the Dodgers were unwilling to provide. Then the Dodgers traded him and gave Kevin Brown more money the following offseason, not to mention paid Gary Sheffield a whole lot more that same season. Makes a lot of sense.
I became a Piazza fan the day he was traded since they were stupid enough to trade one of the best hitting catchers in history,,
I am a longtime Royals fan,,,(since 77)
I'm surprised he did not talk about what Lasorda did for him. If it wasn't for Tommy Lasorda he probably never gets drafted and is working for his old man at the dealerships for the rest of his life.
Hey im a mets fan
The Wilpons didn't get any applause.
wheelinthesky300 I believe they got boos
The only thing that pissed me off when I see this is: HOW THE FUCK DID IT TAKE HIM 4 ATTEMPTS!!!! This man was a no Brainer, a first time automatic in. It's a disgrace it took him 4 attempts along with biggio who's still not in w 3000 hits. There r players that deserve to be in the hall like idk EDGARDO ALFONSO, Al Leiter, Larry Walker!! It saddens me that Lee Smith the guy who held the all time saves record for 40-50 years isn't in, but surely they will put Mariano Rivera in. Mike I'm super excited for you to be in and going as a Met. Very deserving, wish we won a championship
Biggio went in the HOF last year with Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson and John Smoltz.
+davidd320 my bad I meant like didn't go in right away. they had to wait a couple of times. unlike randy n pedro(who doesn't 300 wins) but I understand great pitcher no problems. but I don't think it's fair for guys like biggio n piazza to wait 3-4 years to get in. Keith hernandez should be in another disgrace, but Gary Carter?!?!?!? terrible
I remember him being more of a dodger then a Met
Hey watch ur mouth he's a fuckin met
CORONA Queens.
he was on steroids he shouldn't be in
Where’s the proof
