- It has been 20 years since BMW has built an 8-series coupe. The 2019 BMW M850i and there have been some major changes for this platform. Under the hood is a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 pumping out 523 HP and mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All that power is transmitted to the ground by BMW's x-Drive system that rockets this car 0-60 in 3.6 secs. On the inside there is a cockpit that will allow you to live daily with the M850i and have all the to features that you could every need. This car is no contest for the AMG S63. I would even take a regular S 560 Coupe over this 850i.
@@ohroonoko agreed, but just speaking of BMW, it's a good start. They had to put this out before the M8 that's probably going to exceed the 604 or 640 HP of the S63 AMG or s560 coupe. But just gotta have a sunroof at $116k. That's the knock I have on Bentley gt and AM DB11.

This is not the replacement for the 25 year old 8 series. It replaces the 6 series which has been rebadged. The exhaust cowls are not fake, they each house 2 exhaust ports on each side. You like to see JC Whitney pipes. The world wants to see styled ports that blend with the body.

Almost don't need coupes anymore with how sedans are looking with the fastback styling. This one looks on the plain side for a BMW from the side view compared to how aggressive the front looks. Also for the cost.

Joe why do highline BMWs experience such drastic depreciation in price after only a few years? I know cost of maintenance is one reason but considering the hype surrounding these vehicles, you're practically a God if you drive one 🤣, I find their major devaluation a deterrent to ever buying one new.

BMW has gone in the wrong direction in the last 1 or 2 generations. The cars got porkier and models less distinctive from each other. If you look at the original 850i from circa 1991 and compare it to other BMW's from that year, the 850i really stood out from the rest with a long sloping hood, pop up headlights and foglights and a very distinct profile. This 2019 850i could be mistaken for a 6 series. It doesn't scream "supercar" like the original V12 850i did.

I cant believe that BMW have those small 275 moped tires in the back, this is ridiculous BMW YOU SHOULD HAVE SOME 315's or some 335's on the back. All of the high performance coupes have 3 series tires on the rear so what heck were are you guys thinking? The little punky tires SUCK and it takes away from the aggressive look, i hope the M model has the phat meaty tires on them. I am stunned by the tire size i cant get over this!

@@RaitisRides From what i saw from most of the 2019/ 20 models all have the same dashboard, for example this dashboard is exactly the same as the 2019 Z4! In my opinion, if you compare Bmw with Audi or Mercedes, i say Bmw kinda lost the game!
