  • There are two types of people in this world: Michael Jordan guys and LeBron James guys. Apparently, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas is a subject of King James. Only weeks after James was accused of taking performance-enhancing drugs, Arenas made the same allegation against Jordan. Two Jordan guys, Jason and Steve Kim, discuss Arenas' latest comments.

MJ was great. But he could not do what LeBron has done. LeBron came straight out of HS, 1st pick in the draft, went to the worst team in the league, turned them around and became the leader of the team. Took his team to the championship round in his 4th year, yeah they lost. MJ would have never accomplished all of that, especially with all the pressure LeBron had on him. MJ was the 3rd pick, he had absolutely no pressure on him

Not valid in my opinion (but can still be your opinion). Why? Because LeBron was playing against the Mavs in the Finals at age 26. Jordan didn't lose in the Finals at age 26, because Jordan wasn't playing in the Finals at 26. Or at 22. Or at 27, when LeBron won his first championship a year before Jordan ever even got to the Finals. Plus, the Mavs were better than we think. Look at what happened to the defending champion Lakers against those Mavs in the playoffs. They got swept! And that was a team with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, and Phil Jackson as coach. At least LeBron's Heat won 2 games. At age 26, when Jordan was still 2 years away from getting to the Finals.

Without context as always… What Gilbert conveniently leaving out that Jordan, at age 40, was injured, and played through injury, and his stats and the team record declined drastically. Enough for the Wizards to miss the playoffs. Until Jordan was injured, he was playing well. However, he was not nearly as athletic as he was earlier in his career. He wasn’t even at 96’ Jordan level.
However he was still extremely skilled. His will and determination to win were on display nightly.
Even when his play dropped off Jordan was still giving his best effort.

~ Grew up a few blocks from Quentin Dailey. Didn’t know him personally, went to school with his younger sister.
His exploits as a high school player at Cardinal Gibbons were legendary.
Followed his career, from high school through his college days at San Francisco.
The ups and downs the legal troubles.
Sad to most people that he’s only remembered for his troubles.
He rebounded from many things, and died tragically. He was a community activist, helping others with their addictions.
Unfortunately, so many from my hometown, have had talent. NBA talent. Some had HOF talent. Many didn’t make it. Wasted opportunities, stunted growth. Dailey wasn’t even the first.
    Skip Wise ….
so many after, only those who knew their whole story, remember their names.

I think the reason they hate on Jordan so much is that Jordan wasn’t puffing out his chest and boasting about his stats and claiming he was the goat. He still has the mystic of a great player in retirement. LeBron is screaming and promoting himself as the goat. With his name on drug lists, yeah he is on them.
MJ is still the best player. Hands down.

I believe Micheal hurt Gilbert’s feelings… I’d rather have someone bet on themself to win, rather than a more recent player to bet against themself by doping.

This is not about MJ but do people even actually know the NBA only started testing for drugs outside of cocaine and heroin in 1999. All US sports athletes were popping up on PEDS in the late 80s and 90s. All the players he named prior to 1999 were banned for Alcohol or cocaine use not PEDs. NBA do their own drug tests, that sounds like a drug dealer running a rehab center.
