Hey mate, yeah probably you could rig something up to fix to the loops that the inner attaches to, but if the tents are different heights, the new inner might sag. Might be able to unattach half of the bunker's inner and have half to cook in and half to sleep in. I imagine it wouldnt look pretty, but Ive never tried this. Let me know if you got any questions 👍
I enjoyed watching your camping very much. I also use various Trangia stoves which, let’s face it, are heavy but are still the absolute best. I’m in between selling and buying a house at the moment, so all my gear is in storage. I shall return next year. Watching you boiling the snow brought back a memory of my brother and myself boiling the kettle and pouring it into the tea pot. We left it to brew, only to find it was still hot water and hadn’t turned into tea 🤣 Atb Phil 👍
Thank you very much for watching and dropping a kind comment Phil. Hopefully your move will go smoothly and you'll be back out wild camping in no time. I'd always wanted to make a snow cuppa, as we dont get much snow down in Bedfordshire. Love the memory of your bro. Thanks again and atb Owen 👍
Camping out there away from it all, fantastic!... Love that tent, but I do wish they'd make all their tents also in coyote and multicam options. I've become a huge fan of Snugpak gear in the last few years with everything I've bought from them having impressed me greatly. Thanks!
Thanks Simon, yeah snugpak do make great gear. Yeah those colours you mentioned would be excellent, especially camo. Thanks for dropping a comment. ATB, Owen 👍
I just picked up a bunker off of eBay for super cheap and love it so far. I have a TON of Snugpak gear and its definitely solid kit . Great vid, I wish my wife would camp in the snow with me! Lol 😂 Sub'd.
Hi Owen well done for braving the weather that was a really good camp hope you was warm you look like you was yes the Old snow to make a cup of tea you need a heck of a lot I've tried it before it's a great setup you've got there really enjoyed watching all the best Lee
Thanks Mike, yeah really enjoyed the snow camp. I should have got there a little earlier to set up in hindsight. Thanks for dropping a kind comment. atb 👍
Thanks Ben, yeah is a pretty small woods local to me, but no one seems to go there which is great. Thought I'd better make use of the snow whilst it's here. Ive camped in colder weather tbh so it was no problem. Thanks for the comment dude 👍
Great vid bud, the snow covered woods looked amazing. My tarp skills aren't the best either and i mainly use bungee cords and tent guylines as i can't do any knots lol. Thanks for sharing Owen. Atb Sconja 👍
Thanks Sconja, I had a great time. Yeah Bungees worked reasonably ok for me, and I too cant do knots. I did learn but have forgot again hehe. Cheers pal 👍

That's like kipping in an igloo Owen. A great experience out there in that ultra sound that is snow. I must say good to see the Crusader handling it well. All the best. Mark
Yep did enjoyed the video bro. Can you post some snow my way as it is a good 5 to 7c above normal, no real signs of autumn here yet. A channel I follow in the states had a woodpecker going to town on his aluminum ladder and crikey what a racket it made. All the very best.
Thanks Bro, how's the temperature over your way now? hehe, thats crazy a woodpecker on an aluminium ladder. Thanks for the great comment as usual matey 👍
Nice one Owen ..and fair play to your wife ..looked a good chilled night .had to laugh mate my mrs don.t like being filmed for yt either i get some right earache at times ...proper winter camp ..atb ..steve
I enjoyed this video, nice job. Question, on the wifes sleeping set up would the reflective pad work better on top of the think pad, closer to her body heat?
Thanks David, very kind of you to leave such a complimentary comment. Yeah you're probably right, but one of the uses of the foam roll mat is to protect the self inflating mat from punctures, but yeah probably warmer if they were reversed. Cheers mate 👍
What an experience that must have been, Owen. Great to see you getting out there and the convenience of snow cover for your water source. :-) I notice you filmed this in 4K. Do you compress the MP4 files before editing them? I've found neither my computer or software are up to the task of handling them. Just wondering how others manage.
Hi Olly, good to hear from you bud. Yeah always wanted to drink some snow water. Nah no compression or anything like that. I just copy the files from my cam to my pc and edit it with Shotcut. I do have a pretty modern gaming pc. Let me know if you have more questions, always happy to help. 👍
Thanks, Owen. I did actually buy a gaming PC last year but it was at the lower end of the market (£400 with Windows 10). I can play the clips back okay from Windows but as soon as I load them in to my editing software (Serif Movieplus), I can hear the processor working overtime. After that, it soon crashes due to an error. Thanks anyway. I'll keep searching for an answer. :-)
Hey Olly, you could try the program I use: Shotcut, it's free to use and pretty decent. Handles 4K @60fps. If that crashes when you try to do 4k on it then it might be a problem with your pc. Cheers 👍
Thanks Tom, That was my footprint hehe. Fox woke us up in the night and I popped out for a wizz. Didnt want to get my socks wet so went barefoot. cheers dude 👍
Hey Dominic, yeah it is a really well made tent. I have sold mine now. It's a little heavy by modern standards, but would make a good base camp tent as it's strong. I still have the bigger Cave tent. I also found it a little small for me as I'm 6ft, and like you mentioned there is no porch or cooking area., not that I would cook in a tent. Boots can fit in between the inner and outer I found. Thanks for the comment, atb
@@AlbionCamping I didn't realise it was such an old video, I'm not too fussed about the weight I go up on the hills, but there not Mountains I usually do a lot of forest camping, The cave has a porch I've noticed, What Tent do You have now?
@@dominicgleave6649 Ive got way too many tents, for all different situations. I have tiny small one man tents, all the way up to a giant hot tent I can use a stove inside. I've come to realise over the years there's no perfect tent. I wouldnt worry too much about a porch as most are too small to safely cook in imho. If you're in the woods a small tarp works well as a shelter to cook under and some are pretty lightweight and pack small these days.
Can you place tarp over the Snugpak Bunker tent as well? If so how do you do it? Would this provide maximum protection from rain and snow etc.. I'll be moving out to the wilderness soon.
The tent is waterproof so a tarp isnt essential, but it would create a nice space for cooking etc and help keep the tent clean and dry. You'd have to tie the tarp to trees etc. 👍
Nice tent, but it's a pain to setup without practise! Plus, it says it's a 3 man tent; with as much shit as you've got there, the tent inside gets crowded!
Hey Pete, thanks mate. lol, it was a gradual process starting with camp sites and gradually progressing to wild camping, talking stuff through that worried her, but now she loves it. Thanks for the comment.. cheers 👍
Wild Pete, gotta start her off on something real easy, fun, good weather, good food, scenic once or twice and get her to fall in love with it. Probably be boring for you because the adventure can be in overcoming the challenges, but once she gets hooked from a good easy and fun trip, then you ease your way more into the wilderness. I had alot of concerns when my daughter was just a baby (even tho I was already a backpacker before that) and we eased into it and before I know it we were in the wilderness with our little girl going further into the back country each trip.
