You can have it all… purchase land if you can…then you can do anything you want. I personally would keep the van as it’s your love of travel and freedom. You will work it out. I tune into about six CZcamsrs than we’re van lovers for years…they now have land and are building some beautiful properties. 🎉
Having traveled for only one year abroad with nothing but a backpack, now in my late 40’s, I look back on that time as the best days of my life. Putting down roots and nesting is a beautiful thing..but for some reason the grass is always greener. I imagine eight years on the road becomes exhausting. I hope you will discover the balance you desire.

I think a whole series on finding land and building a simple home would be great content! You don't have to go all "off grid living" but just planting some roots. It's a great time to buy especially since you don't have a property to try and sell, you're in a great position. Good luck with dating... dudes are crazy 😬

I'm a 74 year old part time traveler...pickup, toyhauler and motorcycle. I'm on the road about 4 months out of the year. Right now in the eastern Sierra. Love your videos. BUTT ... sometimes it looks like you push yourself to move too much...too fast. Slow down...enjoy your life more.
Maybe the van give you more sense of having a homeBase. Now maybe you want a little bit more of that. Who knows. Maybe rent a small house for a year and see how it is having a homebase to travel out from.

Nikki I totally understand what you’re talking about that’s why I bought a little house in a small little town. I love it. I picked it up for almost nothing building a garage. Home is only where you should shit, shower and shave. I still have all my camping gear. I did spend the summer building my garage, which is absolutely great because now I have a place to work on my vehicles,and toys I still plan on taking off 2 to 3 months at a time to go camping but it’s always good to have a homebase and a great conversation with somebody people can only stay single so long and get tired of talking to themselves 😊 ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
As we go thru life we exchange one set of old problems for a new set. The secret is to find the best set of problems that you can live with. If it's time to take a break and settle down for a spell that is ok! You can always go back to the nomad life if you miss it!
So many of the vanlifers i’ve been following are doing what you are pondering- (buying land- house) and some are having kids. Most I don’t follow anymore (shame on me). Good luck to your new plans- future
Nikki, you’re not conflicted. It’s the internal thought process as you weigh what your next phase will be. More. Less. Etc. First and foremost it’s your happiness that matters. Once you sort that out, then you’ll be focused on the next phase.
That is life…we all grow and have to start another chapter. It is pretty you are pursuing your dreams because most people don’t.

Left RV life for an apartment 3 years ago at the urging of family. Earlier this year realized how unhappy and disconnected from different people I've become. So now working on plans to go back to RV travel at 74. When you know, you just know. My family hating this but at some point you have to just do you!!.
Okay, here is an idea for Nikki. We have watched you travel to some amazing places. Somehow, you always seem to pick out interesting and unique destinations that the rest of us have missed. I also know that traveling CZcamsrs have to avoid revealing their locations while they are on the road, and for good reason. However, once you make the decision to hang up your travel shoes, put your travel guide experience to good use by publishing a travel book about all the places you visited called "Nikki's Travels." Include all the cool little cafe's beaches, hot springs, towns and campgrounds. All the places I visit seem ordinary or common. The same places that are visited by everyone and nothing really special. A good travel guide would be welcome. Anyone else feel the same way?
Not a good idea! If she would do that a lot of people would go to this special places and in a short time nothing would be „special“ at this places anymore! I travel with my campervan a lot in Europe, found lots of nice places, nice small and wondeful little cafes and restaurants , remote places to stay a bit and go hiking with my dog AND I would NEVER tell anyone about it - because otherwise it would be soon a mass-tourist spot!
Everyone should go out and try to find their own „special places“!

Everyone already knows about every place you go, and every place that Nikki goes. Those places already have their lives long before Nikki came along with her dog and video camera. The only thing a travel book would do is to place those locations within a context that is meaningful to Nikki subscribers. Considering that almost all of Nikki's subscribers are either out-of-area, married-with-responsibilities-so-can't-travel, only-travel-vicariously-through-CZcams, or can't-afford-travel, (or a myriad of other reasons) I don't expect hoards of people to descend on these small towns -- who would actually appreciate the slight bump increase in business. One more thing for you to consider is that there have been travel books about out-of-the-way destinations for as long as there have been travel books. We didn't invent the concept today.

Our balance is 15 yrs together, a RAM Promaster 2500 and we have acquired a small basecamp on Vancouver Island.
It has taken me 68 years to discover this balance and I love it.
After following you for a while now, you are like a member of the family who shares videos of places that I would probably never see on my own. I like that you enjoy many of life's simple things. We will follow you on your journey as long as you allow us to.
You just need to take care of yourself and Camper you do what is best for you and Camper

Maybe what you are needing is a base camp of sorts. A piece of land that you can go to, it is a home, and allows you to have a place that is all yours. Or maybe a place where you can open a space for other nomads to stop over and such like a camp ground but more community based than the typical camp ground.
But remember do what make you happy as you are the one that matters most to yourself.
What a free life you have ,so wonderful. Im an 😂armchair watcher as doing what you do in my country isnt safe. Enjoy your videos so much ..Rodger
