Canada had to win by 10 points today as they lost the first leg by 9. The conversion would have made difference to the result so they didn't bother taking it.

If Canada wants to qualify they're not allowed to make any mistakes now. They will compete with 3 other nations in the repechage pool (my guess is for Spain, Hong Kong and Kenya as their future opponents). Canada has always been part of the rugby world cup since it was created, I sincerely wish them good luck and hope they'll still be in the competition next year.
Well Uruguay is qualified so we'll see them in the world cup next year... This is less sure for Canada who now has only one last chance left... This is why I'm wishing especially good luck to Canada.

I like how Rugby allows us to hear the ref. Why can't FIFA allow this in soccer?

Normally, it's the USA in this position in the qualifying. This must have been traumatizing for the Canadian players to finally be playing in the USA Eagles' shoes the past several cycles.

Once upon a time, Canada wore the USA like a glove in world rugby. They would be the first ones to qualify from the Americas after Argentina. Oh how the mighty have fallen. This team has done worse under Kingsley Jones in that they can't even beat Uruguay and consequentially Rugby Canada made a horror mistake in firing Mark Anscombe. As a USA Rugby supporter (and a Japan Rugby follower), I am fine with this. You can't blame Trudeau either for this #honteaux. Bring Back Anscombe.

RIP Canada. Had two chances to get in 2019 RWC and failed.
