  • Fluid art inspirational video! This painting took a really interesting turn, I came to life in the dry work! It was a gray rainy day, and I think this really reflects the feelings and emotion during the process. I used a lot of different golden fluid and Triart liquid for the dry brush work, also golden, iridescent, gold, high flow for the highlights.

    You are my favorite fluid artist (and I follow many) & I’m so inspired by your work! I’m getting back into my fluid art after a 2 year break & I’m rusty. I’m going to try this technique! If I get anything a quarter as good as yours I’ll be thrilled! Your work is next level and stunning!

    When I was young I watched Bob Ross’ painting program on PBS. It always seemed to be perfect and yet, he would add some “happy little trees” or a few more clouds or whatever and I would SCREAM at my TV screen- “NO! DON’T DO THAT - YOU WILL RUIN IT”. I have the same thoughts while watching your videos-- “DON’T DO THAT- YOU WILL RUIN IT!! But what you add makes it more stunning! Thank you for sharing your gift and expertise with us. Your work is extraordinary. And, as always, thank you for crediting the music/musicians .

      What a cool thing to say, I remember watching Bob Ross as a kid as well! I think that’s funny, because I always wanted him to keep painting.😂
      I totally get the analogy and really appreciate what you’re saying. It means a lot!

    This is one of your most fascinating pieces, Sara. It seems perfect for a gray day, kind of reminds me of the Chinese cairns, stones piled one atop another, to bring one into the present and feel peaceful.
    It has so much detail and I love those organic color combinations.
    I just had to order some Primary Elements - Chestnut Brown, Wine & Roses along with Heavenly Bamboo. I think I’ll try to work on dimension like you achieved here with the “pebbles”. That’s my name for ‘em anyway. Such a unique work of creativity. I love your art❣️

      I love this so much! Thank you for your wonderful comments. I see exactly what you’re seeing, and it brings me so much joy. I hope you enjoy your primary elements, they’re really wonderful and thin paint like this because of the way they blend!

    Sara, I love your paintings. I love how the complex areas are most often surrounded by negative space so that we can enjoy the complexity even more. Have you ever taught on paint brushes? I would really like to hear about the variety and type that you use and why. I can only assume that others would also. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your art with us.

    • @SaraTaylor
      @SaraTaylor  Před 5 měsíci

      I wish I could answer this complex question here, I think, possibly booking a class so we could go over the differences would be the most effective way. I also split up my videos in different playlists based on technique, that can help sort through things.
      Here are some videos that capture each technique pretty well.

      @@SaraTaylor Thank you so much Sara! There are so many artists that unfortunately do not elaborate on their techniques. They want you to just take one of their classes. Unfortunately many are unable to afford to attend these courses (Me included). Then there is artist willing to help. These artists stand out to me! Your “Gold Moon” painting are seriously goals! Even though there is no pink (my upmost favorite color) in it I immediately fell in love. Louise McKay has been a Godsend to me. She never fails to amaze me with her unbiased opinions and help. I have literally so many buckets of slop paint from trying to accomplish pearl paintings. I tell myself each time I fail, “Never again!” Then I see one of your paintings and I become memorized by the outcome. At that moment I know I just have to try one more time! In everything in life I try to get defeated but the Pearl Technique has truly been a struggle for me. I had just left the doctor’s office with devastating news. I had been crying but knew I had a hour drive to get home. I had to somehow snap out of it. Then this video popped up on my phone. I immediately clicked on it. The peacefulness of your painting and technique took over me. It’s just truly something I just can’t explain. After watching the video the 3rd time back to back. I realized something. She used a different base color!? NO WAY, IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? The excitement and joy took over! I rushed home and started mixing up paint per Louise’s recent video. Then the fear of, “Is it the right consistency took over?!” So I immediately paused my intentions of making a painting. I shot a short video and sent it to Louise. Her reply made me laugh. She said, “Thinner, thinner!” God willing I will be back at it again today! Seeing artists that love what they do and are willing to help mishaps like myself truly means the world to me. All of us had our own struggles in life. Might it be finically, health, and or fear. Derrick made a comment on his short today that truly makes sense! Make art with your heart! (Something like that) That is one thing I e always done. I just need to work on my confidence! Sorry for the book but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your response.
