I liked soft musk but after smelling it again (an avon rep had a bottle at a market/fair last summer) I thought to myself, wow - my body chemistry must have changed because that does not smell good! It's either that or the perfume was old or more likely, I've developed a fondness for more subtle perfumes. The one that never changed for me though was Gucci #1. Whenever I find a vintage bottle, no matter how old - it smells so good on me that both men and women ask me what I'm wearing. Now that I think about it, never mind - hope you find a bottle and it smells as good as you remember!

One toy that I recall having a distinct smell was a hard plastic Duncan Yo-Yo, fresh from it’s packaging. When the first mall opened nearby, I remember the smoky-cheesy aromas from Hickory Farms, and also the sweet smell of their dried banana chips. The 1970s malls also had at least one leather shop, the leather goods had quite a distinctive smell. Usually, there was also at least one pseudo hippy-stoner shop, selling posters, tie dye clothing, etc. Most of these shops also carried a large variety of incense and essential oils, certainly more scents than I had ever experienced.

@@treacherousviper, My grandmother was born in 1911. Back in the late 1980's early 1990's we were in her garage looking for something when I spied those old Tide boxes from the 1960's- 70's. She had them flattened out and stacked on a shelf. Asked her why she was keeping them,,,,, " I might need them some day" was the reply.

@@samuelschick8813folks that lived through the depression and world war 2 (and i’m sure just being born in 1911 too things were just different) you didn’t throw things away or get rid of things like we do now. i had a roommate that when his mom died( i think she would have been born in the ‘30’s) had a shed full of stuff like that, like egg cartons and popsicle stick sort of stuff she was saving for like the sunday school crafts the kids did…they were about to just trash it all when the thought they should at least check boxes before throwing them out and found a full set of the m&m figurines from the late 80’s maybe… they were a big collectable thing. they put it on ebay just to see what would happen and i think just pulled the auction when it got well into hundreds of dollars.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. And the towel was caked in Tide so you had to wash it as soon as you extracted it.

I was a Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific girl! Also love Ban de Soleil tanning jelly! My favorite cologne in the early 70's was called Blue Jeans. I would give anything to smell it again. 🥰

Awesome trip back to youth. Avon skin so soft and Hawaiian tropic are 2 smells that take me back, and who didn't love the smell of gas😆✌️💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I used Skin So Soft as a mosquito repellent. It really worked good but I smelled a little "odd" for a guy. Oh well; I wasn't all bit up and trying to scratch 50ft up on a stack of speakers.
